Visiting this building several times before the exhibition opened, Daniel remembered how to get to the second floor, but, contrary to all the rules of fire safety, the doors were closed. The fire enveloped everything around, the frame of the ventilation and the light fixtures system began to fall from the ceiling. The man pushed the door open, as hard as he could, but the lock was stronger than he thought.
Daniel looked around and saw a metal rod, which was either part of the sculptural exposition, or the stand from the microphone. It didn't matter, as long as this thing could help break the lock. He grabbed this rod and immediately dropped it from his hands, a sharp pain pierced his skin.
"d.a.m.n!" Daniel swore, mentally scolding himself with obscene words. What an idiot you need to be to grab the hot metal with your bare hands? He closed his eyes and counted to three, his mind was calm. The man took off his jacket, threw it on the rod and with all his might hit the lock of the door with it, the first hit was strong, but the second was even stronger. Daniel turned around and saw Armand, who helped him break the lock.
"Are you completely insane to rush into fire?!" A friend swore at him and released his hands from the metal stand, Daniel immediately smelled the burned skin and looked at Arman's palms, deep burns like ulcers remained in the places where he touched the rod.
"Go to the roof, the second floor is clean, there is no one there, meanwhile I will bring out the people who remain here," he commanded, Daniel nodded his head and disappeared into the gray smoke.
Armand noticed a woman lying unconscious and a man who was calling for help and could not get out, as a fallen beam blocked his way. He rushed to the side of the man, as he was farther from the entrance, the fire was burning like a wall of flames, splitting them. a.s.sessing the situation, he decided that he needed to move the burning beam to open the way.
"d.a.m.n, it will hurt. Sorry, Armani, I am not doing it on purpose," Armand stroked his expensive suit with compa.s.sion. "If I had known what would happen, I would have come topless," the man joked to himself and lowered his hands into the burning fire.
The flames devoured all his clothes, he grabbed the frame and began to move it to the side. Having freed the way, he took a step forward towards the man sitting on the floor and looking at Armand in horror and with fear.
At this moment, the guest thought that death itself came to grab his soul when a man appeared from the fire, covered in flames. Armand threw off the jacket from his shoulders and began to extinguish his trousers, he was not inspired by the idea to leave this building in the guise of Adam when it was all over.
"Quickly, go to the exit, the ceiling will soon collapse!" He shouted to the man, and not waiting until he was aware of what was happening, Armand grabbed his hand and dragged him forward. "Can you go further?" The victim shook his head, and, coughing, went to the exit. "Stop, take the woman with you," Armand threw the woman on the back of the guest who he had just rescued, and making sure that he could stand on his feet, he helped him to reach the very exit.
After that, he rushed to the entrance to the second floor, as a sharp metal squeak made him stand still. Armand raised his head and sighed, "d.a.m.n, but this will be very painful," the man closed his eyes and the heavy structure crashed down on top of him.
Hot metal stuck into his body, and he felt that he was losing consciousness. Armand mentally prepared himself for the agony, not that it was the first time he was on fire, but still, the feeling was not pleasant.
Suddenly, a light breeze enveloped his body, the pain became less and less, he tried to open his eyes, but could not. Something was not as usual.

"Hurry up, firefighters will soon be in the building." A strange male voice sounded behind Armand's back.
"I know that without you, give me one more minute."
"What one more minute? Enough of the fact that we moved him to the second floor! Nothing will happen to him!" The man's voice sounded irritated.
"And what will be the face of firefighters if they find a person with burns incompatible with life, and he then wakes up as if nothing had happened? Do you want our entire plan to go to h.e.l.l?!" the second voice, more quiet and gentle was barely audible, but Armand was sure that this voice belonged to a woman.
"Agh, do what you want!" the man growled in response.
Armand felt his body wrapped in a pleasant cold, and his mind sank into a deep sleep.
. . .
Rick was standing and looking at the woman on the floor in confusion. She was beautiful, like an angel and as if she was asleep, her lips were slightly parted and beckoning to touch them.
"Mom! Mom!" Ashley rushed to Corey and started shaking her, "Ninjsan, what's wrong with my mom? Why is she not responding?" The girl looked up, and Rick's heart sank at that moment, he felt like he was in a tight corner, to see the bitter tears in the eyes of this child caused him unexpected pain.
He knelt down, removed the strands of hair from Corey's face and touched her neck, the woman's delicate skin aroused strange sensations in his abdomen, but he threw off unnecessary thoughts and focused on her pulse.
"She is still alive, but you need to leave this place soon," Rick turned to the girl and noticed that she stopped talking and sat motionless. "d.a.m.n!" He grabbed the baby girl in his arms and teleported to the roof, the girl hung in his arms like a sleepy kitten, "Hey, baby, don't sleep!" Rick patted her cheeks and Ashley opened her eyes, "You're a pirate, pirates aren't sleeping at such a moment, got it?"
"Yes," she whispered, barely audible, "Where is my mom?"
"Do not worry, I will bring her now," Rick sat Ashley on the floor and teleported back to the room. The man leaned toward Corey to pick her up, as he noticed the blinking screen of the phone lying on the floor next to the woman.
[Daniel.]
The caller's name flashed on the screen, and he frowned, took the phone and put it in his pocket, then picked up Corey.
He pressed the body of the woman to himself and was surprised at how light and small she was, she was so fragile in his eyes that he was afraid that he would harm her if he squeezed her too much.
Returning to the roof, he knelt down and wanted to put Corey on the ground, as the scent of her perfume filled his lungs. The combination of peach and cinnamon seemed so familiar and so pleasant that the man instinctively tilted his head to her neck to inhale this scent even deeper.
He did not understand what was happening and why he was doing it, all he wanted at the moment was to touch her delicate skin, feel it on his lips. Rick touched the girl's neck with the tip of his nose and raised his hand to remove his mask.
"Corey!"
An unexpected cry brought his mind back on track. He heard coughing and someone's footsteps, someone was climbing the stairs to get on the roof. The man put the woman on the ground and stood up, various scenarios scrolled in his head, he did not want to kill the girl and the woman. But another stranger was an extra problem, if he removed him now, then the woman would not know anything since she was unconscious. But the girl, for a baby girl to see this ...
"Ninjsan?" Ashley whispered, her eyes half closed.
"You didn't see me, did you understand?" Rick commanded and, receiving an affirmative nod from the girl, vanished into thin air.
"Corey!" Daniel climbed onto the roof and saw Ashley sitting on the ground next to her mother. He rushed to the baby and pulled her close, "I'm here, everything will be fine, don't worry," the man kissed her on the forehead and sat her down next to him, then picked up Corey.
The sound of a fire siren calmed his heart a little.
"Everything will be fine, I am here."
