Once she sat down, Di Fuyi pushed over a gla.s.s of wine and said, "This is for you."
Gu Xijiu always felt that he did not have good intentions. She looked at the gla.s.s and the wine inside, before looking at Di Fuyi again. She did not understand what went wrong with him.
He told her before that he never shared his gla.s.s with other people, but now…
Could it be that he had argued with Yun Qingluo and deliberately used her to irk her?
The material of the gla.s.s was extremely special. Gu Xijiu could not distinguish it but she knew that it must be very rare and precious.
The pattern on the gla.s.s was special too. If it was carved by the carving master, it might need three years to complete it.
Would he throw it away after she had used such a precious gla.s.s?
She had heard that once his belonging was used by other people, he would ruin it without so much as a second thought.
She thought about the other wine set that was destroyed by him and hesitated for a moment.
"What’s wrong? Are you afraid that I would poison you?" Di Fuyi ignored the stares from the people around. He used his hand to support his chin and looked at Gu Xijiu.
"No, you have misunderstood me." Gu Xijiu took up the gla.s.s to drink the wine and returned the empty gla.s.s back to him.
She did not want to think too much. If he would like to destroy it, it had nothing to do with her too.
Now, Di Fuyi felt satisfied. He took up his own gla.s.s to drink, "This drink is considered your farewell gift."
"Thank you." Gu Xijiu casually thanked him, but she did not really mean what she said.
Since it was a farewell, other people brought her presents too. Most of them had pa.s.sed her the presents, which were all precious and rare. Basically, most of them were for self-defense and detoxification. Even the newcomer, Yun Qingluo, gave her a bottle of good medicine for sore relief.
As for Celestial Master Zuo, he had nothing to give her but a gla.s.s of wine. It was far too stingy of him.
When Celestial Master Zuo asked Gu Xijiu to sit down and drink with him, everyone was shocked and surprised, until he said the last sentence - everyone was relieved.
Yun Qingluo who sat opposite also raised her gla.s.s and gave Gu Xijiu a toast, "Miss Gu, here's to wishing you a safe journey. By the time you return to him, I will treat you a meal again."
"Thank you." Gu Xijiu thanked her too and indicated the servant beside her to bring her wine set over for her.
She only poured the wine from Di Fuyi’s jug for him, but not for herself.
Based on what he said, he had only allowed her to drink one gla.s.s. If she drank the second gla.s.s she might trigger his anger and scolded her on the spot. She did not want to be embarra.s.sed in public.
Thus it was safe for her to use her own wine set.
Di Fuyi looked at her. Although they were sitting very close to each other, she sat very straight and kept a distance of an arm's length from him. Apparently, she deliberately kept her distance to avoid suspicion…
He had a deep thought. He raised his hand and the wine jug on the table floated up and poured wine into her gla.s.s automatically. Then he pushed the gla.s.s in front of her, "I have given you a toast just now, don’t you want to give me one in return?"
Gu Xijiu remained silent. She had not even drunk the wine toasted from Yun Qingluo yet, and now he wanted to cut the queue. Was that the right thing to do?
She hesitated for a while. However, Di Fuyi had raised the gla.s.s and stared at her. Obviously, he was waiting for her to give him a toast.
