She showered, ironed her uniform and prepared lunch for herself.
She bid her mom goodbye and went out of the house. The weather was so good today. Wanting to appreciate the morning, she stretched her arms and and inhaled the fresh air sent by the trees.
"Morning beautiful," she jumped in shock.
"Caleb?" she asked surprised. Why the h.e.l.l is he here so early?
"The one and only," he answered then bowed like a stage performer, "You're early today, avoiding me?" he asked her.
"O..Of course n-not!" she answered him.
"Hmm, but my strong instincts says you're lying," he said. Her throats tightened.
She was caught red handed!
"I'm not okay?" she said.
"Okay if you say so. Let's go?" he opened the door of his car.
"Uhmm.." she didn't want to ride with him, "I'll walk, the weather is nice today," she reasoned.
"Then I'all walk with you," her heart dropped.
"But what about your car? I can go alone," she reasoned out once again.
"I'll just leave it here the pick it up when I walk you home," he said while smiling at her.
He was thinking of walking her home?
"But.." she tried to think of other reasons.
"I thought you weren't avoiding me?" he asked her, raising his brows.
Defeated, she sighed.
"Fine I'll ride with you," she said and entered his car.
If she don't ride with him, she'll have to walk home with him. She didn't want that.
All through out the ride, both of them were silent. The whole 10-minute ride felt like an hour for Samantha. She was so awkward with him.
Reaching the school car park, as usual, Caleb opened the car door for her.
"I'll see you later lunch okay?" he said then blew her a kiss.
She immediately ran away from him. What the h.e.l.l was that? Ew. She thought.
She won't fall for him ever! She cursed herself. It was stuck on her mind that Caleb was only doing this things to make her fall and break her in the end.
She wasn't going to let him!
Inside the cla.s.sroom, their professor entered with a man following him behind.
Samantha's mouth instantly fell open upon seeing the man.
It was the flash from yesterday!
"Good morning cla.s.s, today you're going to have a new cla.s.smate. Please introduce yourself," said the professor.
"Hi guys, my name is Ezekiel Davis," the man introduced.
"Be good to Ezekiel cla.s.s okay? His parents are one of our investors," then the professor turned to the man Ezekiel, "You may sit down beside Ms. Grayson," the professor said.
Ezekiel followed the professor and sat right down beside Samantha. He turned to look at her and both of them had the same facial expression.
"You," both of the said in unison while pointing each other.
"You're the woman from yesterday right?" he asked her.
"Yes and you're the man who saved me right?"
"Yeah," he chuckled, "I'm Ezekiel by the way," then he offered his hand to her.
"I'm Samantha, Samantha Grayson," she said and shook his hand.
"Uhmm, thank you for saving me yesterday. If it weren't for you, i'm probably dead now,"
"It's okay, just be careful next time," he smiled at her then faces front to listen in the discussion.
Samantha also did the same, but she felt something weird. She looked around the room and realized that they were all staring at her and Ezekiel.
Oh right! This was her life now. Sucks to be me, she thought.
At lunch time, remembering what Caleb said earlier, she grabbed her lunchbox and left the cla.s.sroom immediately. She went in the back of the school where n.o.body went.
She was going to hide from him!
She sat down on the gra.s.s then opened her lunchbox and started to eat.
"Is this where you eat your lunch?" a voice sounded from behind her.
It was Ezekiel.
He sat down beside her, "Why are you eating alone?" he asked her.
"I don't have anyone to eat with," she answered him honestly.
"Then I'll eat with you," Ezekiel smiled at her, "But I only have fruit juice," he told her and raised his bottle with a red colored juice inside it.
Shyly, "Uhmm, do you want to share my food? It's nothing fancy, just something I made. I kind of cooked a lot," she offered him.
"Sure!" his eyes sparkled. He looked like a kid who was offered a lollipop.
Samantha then, placed some of her food on the cover of her lunchbox and gave it to Ezekiel.
"I only have one spoon, is it okay for you to use fork?" she asked.
"Yep, no problem," he said the grabbed the fork and food from her hands.
He started to dig in, "Wow this taste so good!" he complimented her then took a few more bites one after another.
Both of them sat in the gra.s.s and ate peacefully. For some reasons, Samantha felt comfortable with this man.
After eating, Samantha fixed her lunchbox and placed it back on its bag. Suddenly, Ezekiel pulled her into a hug.
"Thanks for the food, I really enjoyed it," he told her.
She was surprised by his sudden actions but she was glad that he enjoyed the food she made. She just tapped him in the back and said, "You're welcome," then smiled.
"SAMANTHA!" a loud voice shouted.
Both Ezekiel and Samantha turned to look at the person.
Samantha's threat suddenly went dry and her eyes widened. Ezekiel on the other hand, raised his brows on the man.
It was Caleb.
"I've been looking all around for you!" he said angrily. His expression turning scary.
