"Good you're here," Yin Bo came up to me. "Your only job is to be Shu Meiying's ser-, a.s.sistant."

My face darkened, I was called to be Shu Meiying's servant? So Yin Bo didn't need me here after all. She needed me to be Shu Meiying's punching bag, I can see why.

The stage set was all repaired like the incident yesterday never happened. Everybody here most likely thought Shu Meiying was the one who appeased Mu Yi, so none of them got in trouble yesterday.

Hmph, Yin Bo is not fit to be a leader when she can't protect her own employees. So far nothing is going well, and it's an eye-opener. Well, this was what I was looking for anyway.

I got rid of my annoyed face and put on my professional smile. This is a major project for New Image, I do not want to mess it up.

Yin Bo did not notice the dangerous aura Yun Anong was emitting. She thought she felt something, but it vanished instantly too. It doesn't matter, she needed to hug the bigger leg to move up the ladder. Out of all the people here, Shu Meiying was the best one to suck up to because of CEO Mu.

The entire day I ran all sort of errands for Shu Meiying, things that her own manager does not even do. I could tell she was unhappy that I wasn't frustrated with her ridiculous demands. She wanted to show who had more power here and indirectly trying to let me know she is closer to Mu Yi than me.

Pft. Someone like Shu Meiying could never frighten me. Mu Yi scares me at times, but there is someone scarier than Mu Yi in my life.

"What did Yi call you for?" Shu Meiying asked, trying to show off how close they were by calling his name only.

"It was nothing, to reprimand me for damaging the set yesterday." I lied, I didn't want to cause any unnecessary scene.

Shu Meiying scoffed as if she knew it. Although, she was worried since last night that Mu Yi had taken an interest of Yun Anong. She was afraid Mu Yi will toss her away, and she will no longer have the authority to do whatever she likes. Shu Meiying had got away with a lot of things by using Mu Yi's name. Seems like she was worried for nothing. Besides, Yun Anong who does not have any fame or status will not match standing next to Mu Yi.

Mu Yi is the oldest son of the Mu family and the sole heir of the entire company. The Mu family do have a second son. However, he has no interest in taking over the company. The Mu company got their fame, and richness by creating perfume since ancient time, so they are straight up wealthy for the next hundreds of years. Plus, their lineage is one of the most powerful in the country too.

In Country Z, there are four lineages that share almost the same amount of authority. Even though there is a rumor that there is a fifth family too, although, it was never confirmed. One family couldn't overpower another one though. The Mu family is just one of them, and it's not because those families are wealthy. It was because of their strong connection with the world thanks to their ancestors. No one truly knows the history of how they all came to power. But if you want to climb up the rank, either marry someone in their family or suck up to them.

And that was definitely Shu Meiying's goal, marrying Mu Yi. Words were flying around that Mu Yi walked out of his office with a woman last night. The only woman she knew that went to Mu Yi's office was Yun Anong. If nothing happened between them like Yun Anong had said, then it was nothing more than rumors. Shu Meiying began to relax when her concern was answered.

During lunchtime, I sat by myself in the Mu's cafeteria sipping on my coffee. I wasn't hungry. Also, I needed something to keep myself awake if I still have four more hours of Shu Meiying time.

Sitting at the table next to me were two females from Mu Company. I could hear occasional squealing coming from them.

It appears they were drooling over an actor who had returned recently, he was filming a movie overseas. The actor those female employees were gawking at was Tang Liang. He was an A list star who is still on the rise.

"I can't believe my husband is finally returning home!" The first female giggled and kissed her phone.

I jolted when I heard the word 'husband,' reminds me of this morning. Surprisingly, Mu Yi did not bother me liked I had requested of him. It helped my day to sail smoothly, somewhat.

"My husband already returned," The second female sighed, "Julian, his most recent photoshoot showed off his body!"

s.h.i.t, I forgot I was supposed to do something for Julian. If only I can find my hairpin that went missing during the reunion. It probably fell off when I ran away from Mu Yi. Ack, why do I keep thinking of Mu Yi! I turned on my phone to play a game to keep myself distracted from unwanted thoughts.
