The Ghost Dungeon Master 30 The Goblin Army Moving Through The Fores

As the goblin army enter the second floor, what appeared in front of them was a forest, a foggy gloomy and dark forest. The spearhead platoon begin moving forward cautiously as they couldn't see what was one meter ahead of them. It was dark and silent, there was no other source of sound and only their breathing could be heard.

"What's with this place, why is it so eerie and spooky?"

"Yeah, I can't even see the goblin in front of us clearly, only their silhouette."

"We even walked pa.s.sed some weird statues, it feels as though they are staring at us."

"Yea, I think I saw some glowing things that were flying around as well."

"Where are the enemies, isn't this a dungeon?"

"You guys try to keep your volume down, if the lord hears about it we will be in deep trouble."

"Hey, go get the leader, there is a clearing in front of us." One of the front goblin said to the goblin behind it.

As the spearhead platoon walked out from the foggy forest, a wide open graveyard appear before them, with low lying fog it had a number of undeads roaming around the graveyard.

"What's the problem?" the leader of the spearhead platoon came forward and asked.

"Leader, what do we do now?" the front goblin asked.

"Do what we do best, split up into groups and start clearing this graveyard of these pesky undeads. Only after that can we start finding the whereabouts of the dungeon core." The goblin knight who is the leader replied.

But before they could split into groups, one of the undead zombie started groaning loudly and the yellow glowing eyes all begin turning towards them. Soon they realized that they were getting swarm on all directions.

"AHHH, Stay away from me!" one of the weaker minded goblin screamed out.

"Don't panic, just take them as normal soldiers that we had fought before." the goblin knight yelled out to calm down it's subordinates.

"Stick together and fan out, these mindless undeads won't be able to piercing through our ranks." the goblin knight continued to give out command.

While the battle in front begins, the goblins at the middle of the army had stopped their movement. One of them even knocked against their fellow goblin in front of it and started saying, "What's going on? Why did we suddenly stopped?"

"It seems like the spearhead platoon encountered some undeads."The goblin on the right replied it.

"Oh, lucky them, so are we waiting here until they c...?" Before the goblin in front could finish it's sentence.

"Huh?"

Howling could be heard, as footsteps of a group of something dashes past the middle of the goblin army, successfully dividing the entire army that had entered the forest in half.

The one who had knocked into it's fellow goblin suddenly fell back on it's b.u.t.t as it's legs begin shivering, while it turned and look behind asking, "What the h.e.l.l was that?"

"WHERE DID ALL THE GOBLINS IN FRONT OF ME DISAPPEARED TO?" the same goblin begin yelling out in fear.

"Calm down!" the hobgoblin behind it knocked it on it's head.

"Take up your sword, DEFENSIVE FORMATION, everyone be alert." the hobgoblin shouted out.

"Awoooo" howling noises could be heard in a distance.

"Get ready here they come again." the hobgoblin said to alert his comrades.

A wave of darkness dashes forward towards their direction, as the fog was thick they couldn't make out the figure of the animals until it was right in their faces.

"It's w..." before one of the goblin could finished it's sentence, it was silence by something else, as a blood spurted out from it's neck like a fountain.

With some luck, one of the hobgoblin manages to strike down a pa.s.sing zombie wolf, it immediately shouted out, "they're just wolves, it shouldn't be hard to kill them."

"You three, follow me, we should be able to kill another one." That same hobgoblin told the other three goblins beside it, as it begin chasing another shadowy figure and they disappeared into the fog.

"Don't break the formation!" the hobgoblin who started the formation yelled out and the next second it clicked it's tongue, "tch... dammit they had already left."

"What's going on?" A goblin knight from the back came to where the attacks were.

"Sir, we are being ambush by wolves, but we can't see where they are." the hobgoblin replied.

Hearing it's words, the goblin knight closed it's eyes and went into alert mode trying to use it's skill to detect the presence of enemies nearby, however, after a few minutes of waiting, there wasn't another wave of attack.

"AHHHH" suddenly, cries and screams came from the front.

Shocked by the sudden screams, the goblin knight begin commanding the rest of the goblins beside it to advance. As they were advancing through the fog, one of the goblin tripped and fell face flat onto the dirt ground.

"AHHHH" the goblin screamed when it opened it's eyes and saw what was in front of it's vision, a dead mangled face of a fellow goblin.

Hearing it's fellow goblin scream, the goblin next to it looked down and realized it was stepping on a broken limp.

"What the f.u.c.k is going on?" the goblin immediately shouted out, but before it realized it's feet were off the ground and it was floating about the tree line. It looked up and saw a gargoyle grabbing it by the shoulders, it begin struggling but to no avail, before it knew it, it was dropping from the sky.

The sound of something splatting could be heard from the surrounding, as the goblin that tripped begin cowering on the ground with it's hand covering it's head. Not long after, it's surrounding became silent, other than it's own panting, only the sound of dripping liquid could be heard.

The goblin knight that had order the advance had finally manage to reach the spearhead platoon, the platoon that it had ordered to advance with it had only retain half of it's manpower.

"What happened?" The spearhead platoon's goblin knight looked at the just arrived knight and it's platoon before asking.

"We were ambushed." The goblin knight replied.

"By what? We didn't encounter anything on the way here." The spearhead platoon's goblin knight asked.

"This hobgoblin here said there were wolves. Next, I heard a scream coming from your direction and begin advancing, before I knew it goblins in the rear of the advancing platoon kept disappearing. The vision was so poor that I had no choice but to continue to advancing out of the forest, this forest is way too weird."

~~~Back at the swamp~~~

"Finally, I can stretch my limps." At a corner of the swamp, Tempest teleported in while stretching her lazy back, she is currently at the side of the fort. As a ma.s.s number of skeletons begin appearing behind her.

A few moments before~~~

"Tempest, go to the first floor and wipe those goblins out, after that bring those skeletons with the hidden zombies and attack the goblin army from the back." the ghost said, while he looks at the dungeon live broadcast system. After retreating earlier, he had left the wraith knight in the side crypt of the graveyard, while he himself teleported back to the dungeon master room.

Next the ghost begin resummoning his skeletons that had all been destroyed from the earlier encounter. After he finished requipping the skeleton warriors with new bone spears and the archers with new arrows, he teleported all of the skeletons to Tempest's location.

Tempest closes her eyes to try to pick up the sounds of heavy breathing of those injured goblins. The zombies that were previously burrowed before the entrance begin emerging from the ground, with the thick fog, the goblins escorting them couldn't see them emerged.

"Ahhhh" screams came from the middle of the swamp. Alerted by the sudden scream, the goblins guarding the entrance send a few of their already small group out to help them.

Hearing the screams, Tempest brought the skeletons and pinned the retreating injured group from the other side. The moment the goblins were in range of her wolf instinct skill she immediately fire off her water bullet skills, even though she couldn't see her target.

"Arghh, they are coming from the back as well." The escort team shouted.

Weapon clashing sounds could be heard as the skeleton warriors and the goblins begin fighting. However, when the sounds resounded, that was when the tide begin turning as the skeletons archers and mages begin firing at the location where the sounds came from.

"Arghh! Where are the reinforcement?" One of the last goblin escort shouted out as it was getting hit from all directions.

But to it's disappointment, the reinforcement didn't arrive as a bone spear lunges through it's chest killing it instantly.

After cleaning up the retreating group, Tempest commanded the undeads to attack the remaining goblins that were protecting the entrance.

Seeing the incoming zombies, the goblin mages begin casting fire spells at them, while the remaining hobgoblins protected the mages with their shields keeping the zombies at bay. Without much difficulty them managed to take down a few runner zombies before the main bulk of skeleton warriors came rushing in. As the skeleton warriors came crashing into the hobgoblins line of defense, magic projectiles and arrows came flying towards the goblin group from the back.

*BOOM

All of a sudden one of the hobgoblin was blasted backwards from the impact of it's shield breaking from something. Seeing that gap in the defense line, the skeleton warrior immediately take advantage of it and rushed towards the goblin mages. When the gap appeared the formation the goblins were using quickly crumbled and within minutes the goblins were all killed and the runner zombies begin feasting on the bodies.

The rear of the goblin army had finally entered the forest with the goblin lord currently leading the remaining forces that had been broken away from the front. The remaining mage platoon is currently spread out in the middle with the foot soldiers on either side and the archers staggered in between the mages.

"Awoooo" howling noises could be heard in a distance.

When the wave of darkness came towards the army, this time however, they were immediately being shot at by the archers and mages with arrows and spells the moment their silhouette could be seen.

As a few of the silhouette were knocked down by the bombardment of spells and arrows. The foot soldiers advance forward a few steps to deal the finishing blow, before taking a few steps back with their back facing the mages and archers, to maintain their formation.

Realizing that their guerrilla warfare tactic couldn't work against this force, a short howl sounded off and the remaining wolves begin retreating, as they had taken more casualties than what was expected.

After the wolves retreated, the goblin army continued to moved unhindered through the forest. The first goblin stumbled across the previously cowering goblin that hadn't move from it's location with lots of dead bodies all around it causing the entire force halt.

The hobgoblin grabbed the cowering goblin up and asked, "What happened here?"

"I have no idea what is doing this, my fellow goblins just disappeared all of a sudden and only splattering sou...." all of a sudden the goblin that was being held by the hobgoblin disappeared, it's hands that was holding onto the goblin was gone, as it felt a breeze coming from the top.

The pain suddenly sets in and the hobgoblin screamed as it watches it's blood spurting out from it's cut arm, there was a very soft "meow" before it started screaming.

*SPLAT

The goblin it was holding on that had disappeared suddenly fell in front of it and had turned into a mess. The goblin lord came forward when it heard the screaming.

"What's going on?" the goblin lord asked, but before it could get an answer from the hobgoblin, a pair of claws swooped in from the sky and grabbed it.

"GARGOYLES!!" The goblin lord shouted out as it alerted the rest of it's army, "GET ME THE ENGINEERS!"
