The Great Mage 1 Magic Ability Testing

Everyone is busy talking about stuffs on what would they do if their ability is known.

Outside the gates of the Magic Hall, Aurora is busy convincing her parents to go home and she doesn't want to have her ability tested.

"Mom and Dad! I'm telling you that there's no need to test my ability! I'm just an Adverse Mage like the both of you!" Aurora whined and tried to walk away but she was just stop by her mother.

"It's just an ability testing, it won't kill you to have your magic tested! Doesn't mean were an Adverse Mages you are one too." Her mom said and tried to drag her inside the gates.

"Dad! I really don't want to! I'm telling you I'm really an adverse mage!" Aurora cried while her father looked at her helplessly.

Aurora knows very well herself that she is an Adverse Mage. Her friend Tina and Ivy are both Adverse Mage because their parents are adverse mages too, even without testing she knows what kind of a mage she will be.

"How will you know that your an adverse mage! You didn't even get to test yourself! Even if your an adverse mage we also need to know what ability you have!" Her mom shouted and tried to pull her away from the gate she's clinging on.

"I don't want to test it! It will be just a useless ability!"

"Aurora, just have the test okay. If your an adverse mage then you are. Just fulfill your mom's request then we can go home after this and I'll let you come with me to the mountains if you're an adverse mage. Is this alright?" Her father said. He could only do this to stop their tantrums in front of him. They are already attracting too much attention.

When Aurora heard her father's condition she immediately let go from the gate and nod her head willingly to her father.

"Alright! I'll go and have my ability tested. Dad! Don't forget your promise!" Aurora happily skipped and enter the gates while her mom only look at her husband helplessly.

Aurora enter the testing hall, took her number and waited patiently. She can't wait to go the mountains. Since she was a child, she love to sneak in the mountains and hunt for precious herbs and crystals and sell it to the city. While her parents both works at the paper and printing company.

Her mom's ability is hypnotizing but it is a backfired ability, if ever she hypnotized someone she'll feel asleep and it's effect is only for three minutes. Her father's ability is emotional control, which he can controls the different emotions to amplify or calm you down.

People who possess magic abilities are called mages and they are divided into Elemental Mages who possess fire, wind, water and the rare ones are wood, metal, ice, lightning and light magic.

Special mages are those who possess abilities like the healers, s.p.a.ce teleportation, telepathy, telekinesis and others that are useful to the Magic Council. Also there are the most special rare ones that possess multiple abilities and they are of one great importance.

The last ones are the Adverse Mages in which their abilities are not that useful or doesn't have any magic ability and most probably work in the industry or in agricultural.

The world before that they have read on books didn't have any magic abilities, until a gray explosion happened in the sky raining down some gray particles like ashes from a blown up volcano. That was the great phenomenon that change the fate of the entire human race and affecting the plants and animals

People from ages thirty and above died the moment the particles touch them resulting in a great chaos almost wiping the human race.

The people on the age of seventeen started developing abilities which only existed in fantasy, throwing the remaining people into a state of confusion not knowing what is going on.

A great calamity strike them when a thousand feet black wall suddenly appear in their country and to the other countries around the world.

No one know what was the wall for until the emergence of different beasts that come out from the black wall which opened a dimensional s.p.a.ce. The beasts that came out, they attack, a.s.saulted and killed the remaining survivors by eating them.

The only way to kill them in which they are called the h.e.l.l beasts are with their newly awaken abilities thus saving them in their predicament. It took them a while to kill them off and the portal from the black wall instantly close.

The black wall is now called The h.e.l.l's Gate and that was the beginning of the New Mage's Era and it started a thousand year ago resulting in the new era of man.

They tried entering the h.e.l.l's Gate but no one manage to come out alive. They also tried to destroy the h.e.l.l's gate but it appears to be impenetrable and you can't even put a scratch on it.

The following years resulted in the establishment of the Magic Council and a Const.i.tutional Monarchy after the first war with the h.e.l.l Beasts.

Every ten years, the wall would open up and release a ma.s.sive amount of beast to eat and attack the people. It was the powerful mages who always manage to ward off the attack and now they are called the The Great Mages.

It was also the Great Mages who put a large barrier inside the city wall to protect them from the h.e.l.l Beasts attack.

When she was a child, Aurora also wanted to be a Great Mage, carving her name in history but she knew it would be impossible. Her parents are both adverse mages and it's not that easy to produce an offspring with a strong magic genetic ability that's why she just face the reality and work hard.

It was only at the age of seventeen that one can know their ability. It was only a day that she turned seventeen and the very next day, both her parents drag her in the nearest Magic Hall Testing Area in City X.

After an hour of waiting in line. She was finally called.

"5940, Aurora Summers!" A middle age lady called and she just stood up and follow her inside the testing room.

She was left standing at the center inside the full white room. There were only three facilitators inside. The lady who led her inside the room give her a blue pill and a gla.s.s of water.

"This pill will help you awaken your sleeping ability. If you can feel a surging or energy wanting to burst out from your body, just release it and the magic orb will help you absorb it. This will determine what type of mage you are and the ability you possess" The lady instructed her and she just accepted the pill and water.

A magic orb suddenly appeared in front her. Aurora just took a deep breath, this magic orb here will determine if she's an adverse mage or not.

"Aurora, relax and take the pill" The lady said and Aurora eat the pill and drink the water to let the pill flow inside her abdomen.

Few minutes later, her head started hurting making her to shout in agony like it would break her skull open in any moment.

'What is this? Why is my head hurting? it doesn't feel like an energy bursting out from me!'

The facilitators who saw this were immediately alerted.

"What's going on? The pill is made specifically for everyone and no one should be allergic or something to it"

"Get the stabilizer! It would be bad if something happen to her!"

The facilitators immediately press the emergency b.u.t.ton, this is the first time that they encounter this and they immediately took the kit to stabilize her condition and went to her.

Aurora is now lying on the cold floor, shouting in pain from her head. Her entire body felt hot like someone is roasting her on fire and everything around her felt blurry. She wanted to shout for help but her throat was hoa.r.s.e and dry, leaving her with no words to utter.

The lady who led her inside took the syringe, she was ready to inject the syringe when she heard a loud crack and she look at the magic orb floating in the air and it shattered into pieces which made her shock and her eyes widen.

It was then that Aurora felt something surging in her body that wanted to be release from her body.

The last thing she saw was the blue sky and the light penetrating her eyes then she loss consciousness.
