Hearing this everyone including Dumbledore was shocked. All these days everyone thought that Sirius was the traitor, but hearing this they all thought they Sirius was pitiful.

Max looked at everyone's reaction and continued, "Then tell us about what happened between you and Sirius that year?"

Peter said in his blank monotone voice, "Sirius who got to know that I betrayed them, hunted after me throughout the city. Then I turned into my Animagus form and went into the sewers. Everyone thought that I died that day, but I hid myself carefully."

Hearing this Lupin was close to tears for suspecting Sirius. Dumbledore was seriously pondering as to how to deal with the consequences of this confession.

Max who was satisfied with the confession loudly said, "You got that, guys?"

Rita Skeeter nodded and said, "Mr. Argent, I didn't think that you'd reveal the greatest mystery that was ever hidden. The Daily Prophet is going to have a field day with this. I'm going to enjoy taking down his entire lineage with this, if they even exist." She was pretty happy with this juicy news.

Dumbledore who saw many aurors and Rita Skeeter coming out was very surprised. He asked Max, "Did you apply the concealing spell on them?"

Max said, "Yes, Professor. I wanted to world to know what he did. I could've killed him silently and be done with it, but this is way better."

At this time Amelia Bones said, "With his confession, and with the newspaper and everyone here as witness, I think we'll be able to get justice for the Potter family and Sirius Black."

After exchanging some pleasantries the aurors went back. Rita Skeeter had a small chat with Max and she also went back.

After all that happened, the students started talk among themselves about the events that precessed. Harry was shocked, angry and sad watching all this. He didn't exactly know what happened that night, but listening to everything that happened here, he knew that his parents' best friend betrayed them and because of him they died. He wanted to talk to Max desperately, since Max seemingly knew almost everything that happened there.

Right now all the teachers were having an intense discussion about Peter Pettigrew and Max.

Snape asked Max, "How did you know what happened that night? And why didn't you tell us earlier?"

Max shrugged it off and turned to Dumbledore and said, "Professor Dumbledore, would you please tell them not to pry too much. This was supposed to happen, so it happened."

Dumbledore nodded hearing this and told them, "Professors, I understand that you are curious, but let this matter to rest. I'll tell you about it when the time comes. For now, let's just be happy that Pettigrew was caught."

The next morning the whole wizarding world was blown by the news about Peter being the traitor and Sirius the one being n.o.ble friend till the end.

Rita Skeeter even managed to dig up information about Sirius being thrown to Azkaban without a trial.

This news shook the wizarding world to no end. Many people started to question whether Fudge was fit to be a minister.

Cornelius Fudge who heard the news was shocked and scared. He knew they Sirius was bring held in prison without a trial, but he didn't expect anyone to prove him innocent that too this way in front of so many people.

What he was worrying about most was Rita Skeeter exaggeration the whole scenario in the papers. So he decided to visit the smartest person he knew of to help him, and that person was the ever cunning Lucius Malfoy.

Lucius who read the paper was already expecting Fudge's visit. Even Lucius didn't want Sirius to be announced innocent as he's expecting to make his son Lord Black through his wife's side is heritage, but Sirius coming out and the possibility of him declaring Harry Potter as Lord Black wasn't looking good for him, so he needs Sirius dead or inside prison.
