Rosevita Kingdom is well-known for its supremacy in sorcery techniques, which is also commonly known by the name of “magic.”
In this country, there exists a prestigious national inst.i.tution dedicated to studying the subject. It just so happens that this school is the only one of its kind.
If a person happens to be talented, regardless of what his or her heritage may be, enrolling in the school becomes possible for them at the age of fifteen.
The total enrollment period spans over six years in a boarding establishment. So which school is this?
That answer would be the 『Rosevita Royal Magic Academy』.
I, Meryl Foster, was luckily able to enter this prestigious school despite its harsh grade requirements. This year will be my second one attending.
I would also like to make special mention of the academy’s portions aside from the magicians. With friendly cla.s.smates, my dormitory roommate, and no other problems, I am currently living a peaceful daily life.
…… I was living a peaceful life.
Really, it was fun living an ordinary, almost mindless every-day routine.
(Alright, escapism time is now over!)
If I open my eyes, it’ll be the same light from the sunset dyeing the cla.s.sroom corner an orange hue. But it isn’t. At this point-blank range, Senpai’s beautiful form is there. Exactly what the heck is happening, and why has it become this way?
For now, I raised the fact out loud that I didn’t understand the situation right now to this senpai. In response, his well-regulated eyebrows were currently knitting together. The current mood was also obstructed as he grew impatient and annoyed – probably because of my lack of understanding regarding the strange reasoning behind this encounter.
“… I’m the sixth-year Gilbert Kralvane. As it is, I held the belief that I was famous – but is that actually such a thing?”
“Aah, Kralvane-senpai. I’ve heard of only your name a little bit.”
“I-Is that so?”
With the wrinkles on his brow increasing one by one, he let out a deep sigh. Senpai, this distance of your breath is tiresome and extremely ticklish. Seriously, stop that.
In any case, speaking of “the best sixth-year” Kralvane-senpai, I’ve certainly heard of his name from other undercla.s.smen.
The Kralvane household, if I remember correctly, was bestowed the t.i.tle of a viscount rank, which allowed them to join the ranks of other distinguished magic n.o.ble families.
In addition, even if Senpai himself was the one who came to arrange this, isn’t his method suspicious? Especially when the other person isn’t someone famous?
… like me. There shouldn’t be any interest or concern with a commoner whatsoever; this is the reality, though.
“So what sort of business does a member of the prestigious Kralvane house have with such a commoner?”
I know I made that declaration myself, but I really am ordinary.
I was raised as a normal girl in a normal household. My grades were average and partially inferior compared to other applicants, although the academy admitted me anyway.
My physical appearance as well is way too different from Senpai’s; the adoring compliments he gets are far beyond my own abilities. I also have tiny b.r.e.a.s.t.s.
Thinking about it all the same, Senpai dwells in a different world from me. This kind of situation that became an event is hardly likely to happen – except for some kind of mistake.
“Does this posture not remind you of a similar event, or something largely in that way?”
“Practicing your judo pinning technique?”
“A novel comeback.”
“After that response, you had a terrible look on your face. Perhaps your vision is actually poor and you mistook me for somebody else – or something like that?”
“Sorry, but my sense of eyesight hasn’t deteriorated. Meryl Foster.”
Unfortunately, it was my name being called.
As far as I’ve heard from rumors, it’s absolutely impossible that a super beautiful girl with the same first and last name as me exists.
“Even though I was calling your name earlier, are there any problems with that?”
“… tch!”
Senpai’s left hand that acted as a restraint was unfastening itself from the desk. Instead, it drifted up to my face as he touched my cheek with his fingertip.
“It’s embarra.s.sing.”
“You’ll become familiar with it shortly.”
Slowly gliding around the contour of my face, that finger temporarily stopped around my jaw. If I were to face the direction of that gentle touch now, your countenance would be in a similar position to mine. By now, the shadows are already piling up.
“………”
“………”
The view, which was currently occupied by the male figure in front of me, surprised me with the degree of how lovely it was. Red streaks of light from the sunset cast a deep shadow upon the room, highlighting even more the well-kept profile in front of me.
As it is, it looks as if someone just about finished clipping out a picture and freshly decorated it.
… But why is it, for some reason… even though this is supposed to be a heart-pounding, lovey-dovey situation, my heart isn’t beating fast at all.
(…… There isn’t any enthusiasm in your eyes.)
Despite your extremely close proximity right now. Was your declaration of “I’ve always been observing you” just for lack of anything better to do?
This person, with his enchanting cat-like golden pupils and a beautiful complexion, had gained an increasingly unreadable look in his eyes while watching me.
“… What an unusual reaction.”
“Is that so?”
“Really, to continue to be so expressionless at me approaching you up to this distance. Meeting a woman like you is a first.”
“The same goes for you. Any attempts at a love affair, just like your fabricated facial expression, definitely don’t exist.”
At that moment, an appropriate look for the situation floated onto Senpai’s face for the first time: a blank look. To the extent that his thoughts were being revealed, the slight bonehead let out a sound of astonishment.
“… so this is the first time that somebody has said that type of thing.”
“Always the expressionless young woman even after I approached you, huh. Relatively heartless, aren’t you?”
“I was making an expression like that?”
All of a sudden, the restraints keeping me down were unexpectedly and easily removed.
The huge shape in front of me moved aside, which opened up my field of view to reveal the vibrant, vivid sunset. The sight left a deep impression on me. Before I knew it, the beginnings of a violet shade were mingling in the sky. It seems that soon the sun will regretfully sink below the horizon.
From that scene, it truly felt that the hours were lapsing by in comparison. The academy is going to close at any time now. If we don’t get out, it’ll be bad. But…
“Um, senpai?”
For a man who belonged to the isolation of high society, his appearance sure did look a little sad for some reason.
That standing figure, in comparison to me, is about a head taller. Because my waist is of an… inferior length, his height is definitely in a disagreeable state with me already.
“Senpai, if you don’t have any more business with me, is it alright if I go home now?”
As those words sprang out, my tone was unintentionally a little biting. Therefore, I humbly beg your forgiveness.
A good family pedigree, an excellent face, and, as a bonus, a great physique up to the extent that it’s perfect. Or something like that. What part of heaven is so enamored with you!?
“Ah, sorry. I don’t have anything else to convey.”
“… If possible, the pushing down incident from earlier – you telling me whatever your affair was required being on top of me.”
Up until not too long ago, this guy was pushing down a woman despite seeing her for the first time. Extremely calm and composed. Really, he’s standing up as if nothing had happened. But it’s still irritating.
And yet… in my 17 years of living, this was the very first time that type of event has ever happened to me.
“So in the end, what kind of important business was it?”
Various things have piled up on me today. My chest is feeling nauseous.
For now, I just want to return home quickly. I live in a world that’s way too different from his. Thus, this is the end to being in the same room as him. It didn’t hurt.
…… At this point, I definitely believe.
If I were to leave matters as is and run away without listening at that time, the ending would be rather unusual. Wouldn’t you agree?
“Then I’ll get straight to the point. Meryl Foster, give birth to my child.”
“…………… Huh?”
