The Author Reincarnated?! ~I’ll Become an Amazing Villain!~ Chapter 3

I have become a villain called Lord Carlo-De-Medici from my novel 「Yuusha Tensei」, and decided to live in this world from now on.

Not only to live in it but to become an attractive villain, the kind that will create an interesting story.

Therefore I still have a lot of things that I must do.

While thinking about it I suddenly felt hungry.

I picked up the bell that was on top of the desk and tried to make a sound.

Ting Tingーー

As soon as the bell rang Melissa, Reina and Pickaru came in.

「Do you need something? Carlo-sama.」

「My stomach……」

I responded Melissa’s words.

「Haaー? !」

The three looked at me with expressions of surprise.

I thought for a moment and immediately understood that it was my wording.

Carlo being a broad minded person, uses the word 「Ore」. (TL Note: Ore= calling  himself/herself with confidence )

I have never spoken in that kind of style.

「Ah, cough, as I am hungry. Can you prepare a meal Melissa. 」

「Understood, Reina let’s go and start the preparations」

As Reina and Melissa walked out of the room with their heads down.

Melissa is still looking at me with worried expression.

Let’s be careful from now on.

Suddenly the only people left inside the room were Pickaru and I.

I wanted to ask Pickaru various questions.

But first, there was a problem.

His name is Pickaru.

But in the novel Carlo called him 「bald」.

Certainly Pickaru has an wonderful bald head.

I chose the name because of this.

However Pickaru becomes stressed every time he is called bald, which leads to stomach aches.

Carlo does not know the emotions Pickaru feels.

However, I know his emotions.

I’m a man who hates pointing out the weak points of a person and hates to point out flaws in their complexion.

So I decided to not call him 「bald」when talking to him face to face.

It was also because of the j.a.panese culture I grew up in.

Well it can’t be helped, the setting can be changed based on the mood of the author.

「Pickaru, there are things I want to know.」

As I talked to him him, I saw that he was holding his breath.

He was looking at me with utter amazement and tears in his eyes.

「Is there a problem?」

As I asked Pickaru he replied to me with a shaken voice.

「……Carlo sama it has been many years since you called me by that name. So I became delighted unintentionally. Please excuse my behaviour.」

Never thought I would delight him this much.

I feel sorry for Pickaru who is lowering his head.

Because named him.

However he doesn’t know that .

I started feeling the responsibility of an author.

I should have given him a more refined character like Umibou〇 or or Do〇. (TL Note:〇=censoring and i dont know of there characters if you have any idea(Gintama????) please leave it in the comments. )

Ah, I shouldn’t use a secondary character here. (TL Note: So he is saying that he should not)

「I never knew you minded that much Pickaru, I’m going to call you by your name from now on.」

But I actually knew the truth.

「I apologize. I’m grateful for your words, thank you.」

I was pleased upon hearing his reply.

Well it’s probably alright.

I’m a person who has gotten along with Pickaru for some time.

「So, what do you want to know?」

Pickaru asks me with a bright expression.

「Umm, what is today’s date?」

「It’s the 2nd of September」

He said with a warm gaze.

「Fall…How has the harvest gone, and how is the farm produce this year?」

「Yes. Fortunately we have been blessed with fine weather this year, which led to a large harvest.」

「That’s nice to hear. So how much soldiers are present in the castle right now?」

「Castle?  This is Carlo-sama’s estate. There isn’t a castle here. But there are approximately 10 imperial soldiers protecting the estate.」

Pickaru began to look at me strangely.

But what’s really strange here is Carlo’s setting in the novel is that he was living in the castle called Bare Heart.

It means that Bare Heart Castle is built in-between now and 5 years in the future I guess.

That is problematic.

Besides Kazuma’s rival Carlo’s background is that he is the top ranked swordsman.

However, my general movements are overall poor .

But since I have Carlo’s body and strength, I have to improve my skills quickly.

Of course the story talked about how I can’t ride a horse.

Because of the trauma which was created when I fell down the horse, I think.

As I was deep in thought I was looking at Pickaru’s face.

Compared to my soft expression at the beginning, I made a serious expression and asked him,

「Pickaru,  what is the condition of my injury?」

「Yes. Other than your cheek there were no other major injuries. Except for some few scratches and wounds here and there. The doctors also said that you will be completely fine soon. 」

Good, it doesn’t seem like a fracture.

「I see, I want to re-start my sword practice from tomorrow. Try to find someone who is experienced in using a sword in the territory」

「If that’s the case then I think Sir Fitz Maurice Fitzgerald is suitable.」

Pickaru answered my words immediately.

Sir Fitz Maurice Fitzgerald huh…

If it’s him then I know him well.

This person with the long name is the leader of the imperial knights who are guarding Carlo’s estate.

Since it was a long name I decided to call him 「F」.

He is loyal, brave, and is the country’s best fencer. Also, he has a foul character, even though he is good looking.

He is a core member of Carlo’s party.  He gets disgusted at Carlo in the end and becomes an ally of the hero (or so I planned).

In my writing, I still haven’t made him betray Carlo yet.

In the novel’s setting he was 32 year old. So at this moment he should be 27 years old I think.

「Sir Fitz Maurice Fitzgerald, what kind of person is he?」

I pretend that this is the first time I’m hearing his name.

I will use amnesia I received after falling off the horse and an excuse for my questions.

「He is a considerable master, who is not inferior to sir Robert. He got promoted to the imperial guard after returning from Braham. 」

Glad that I heard it, it looks like I’m not acquainted with F yet.

Because of this I have to be careful from now on.

By the way, Braham is the largest city in Medici’s territory which is ruled by Carlo.

「Well, I’m looking forward to it. Tell him to come here from tomorrow onwards.」

「As you wish.」

Pickaru lowers his head.

Meanwhile the meal seemed to be ready and was carried in by Melissa and Reina.

There is a problem with eating as well.

I didn’t have the appet.i.te to eat. The food from the story is from the middle ages, which was different from modern j.a.pan.

The dish that Melissa brought me was comprised of a boar as my main dish (salty), a potato stew (salty) , and some bread and wine.

It was as I expected.

Well I did describe most of the dishes being 「salty」 so it was natural.

However the problem isn’t that I can’t eat, it just becomes a hard time after having the same dish every day.

I decided to try and adapt to the food as much as possible.

It was rea.s.suring to see Melissa taking care of me.
