Jomei could no longer stand and dropped down to his knees. He placed his forehead against the spot she last stood and cried as blood slowly stained the carpet. Then it hit him! He needed to atone for his mistakes! He refused to let his stepmother find out about his love child. He swore to himself that he would protect Aayushi and their unborn child no matter the cost. He quickly ran back to his room and started to collect all his valuables. If his father wanted him gone then he would leave but he wouldn't be leaving alone.
He knew his plan was foolish but he couldn't afford to stay any longer. He then rushed off to the storage building. The front doors were locked, he had no key instead he looked around the ground and found a large rock. He quickly picked it up and started attacking the lock pad. By the time he was able to break the lock off his hands were already swollen and b.l.o.o.d.y. Jomei looked around frantically, dirty everything with streaks of blood. In total frustration Jomei toppled over shelves and stacked doc.u.ments. He had no idea how long he had been searching but his hands had already stopped bleeding. He slumped down on the floor in complete defeat when he suddenly spotted what he was looking for. He pulled out a small jewelry box decorative with multiple wood carvings fawns, stages and does.
He gingerly touched the carvings and thought of his mother. A frail woman with whiter then white snow like skin, red lips, golden brown hair and bright ruby red eyes. Jomei let out a haggard breath as he pushed down on the two carvings on the sides of the box box. The first being and elegant stag watching over his family on the left of the box. The other being the doe cleaning her fawn on the right. A small clicking sound was heard and the lid of the box lifted an inch upwards.
Jomei gently closed the lid again then pressed down on a small fawn grazing with his family of the front. The lid sprang completely open and he looked inside. There was a beautiful emerald encrusted key, a family crest, decorated with silver and emeralds and a map. Jomei pocketed the key and the crest before he opened up the map. He grinned to himself as he looked over the details. It was a three day travel but it would ensure his and Aayushi's safety, more importantly the safety of their unborn child.
He quickly closed the box and his it under a pile of boxes. He didn't want to leave the jewelry box behind as it was a momento of his late mother but he couldn't risk anyone knowing that he found it. He carefully opened the storage door and scanned the area before he made his run towards the stables.
As he reached the stables he was starting to feel uneasy. He had been running like a mad man all morning but he had yet to run into any of the staff members. He found the two horses he wanted to borrow and started to hitch them up when suddenly he heard some singing. A cold chill ran down his back as her looked around the stable but couldn't see anyone. Jomei went back and finished off hitching the horses. As he turned to run back to the castle he heard a fairy like laugh. It was heartwarming yet painful to hear. Jomei looked around again but didn't see a single soul.
"My love what will I ever do with you?" A familiar voice called out and Jomei sprinted out of the stable, running at full speed towards the stream. Gasping for air his eyes started to water as he saw a little girl running after some b.u.t.terflies as two women sat on the gra.s.s. One was in a maids outfit while the other he recognized right away as his stepmother. Their backs were facing him but he couldn't help but feel his heart soar.
The girl had to have been only a year old. She had beautiful locks of golden wheat coloured hair, slightly curling around her round face. A small cl.u.s.ter of freckles dusted her nose and cheeks while her innocent smile lit up the area around her. She turned to face Jomei and stared at him with her big, innocent, golden eyes. "Lello?" She called out as a chubby little hand raised into the air, uncertain of the stranger but when she saw he didn't move she began to wave enthusiastically.
Miranda quickly got up and scooped the child into her arms as the maid turned to face who had invaded their happy little bubble. Jomei had gone pale as he took a few steps forward. His heart was beating loudly against his chest as his eyes turned wild and bloodthirsty. "Miranda... why are you holding her child?" Jomei said as he raised a shaky accusing finger. He looked at the maid and recognized her as one of his stepmother's personal maids. The shock was too much, he hoped, he wished that the maid would have been her but G*d was too cruel. It had to be someone else or else this would not be his h.e.l.l.
"Jomei, it's not what you think." Miranda said as she held the child tightly against her chest. "Put down the child." He said as he took a few steps closer. "No! I can't do that! Please Jomei forget what you saw and go back to the castle." Miranda begged but Jomei refused to stop moving. "PUT DOWN THE CHILD!" Jomei barked as he started to look more rabid. "Mama!" The girl cried as she clutched onto Miranda. "Shhh baby it's okay. It's okay he won't hurt you." Miranda cooed as she placed a gentle kiss on the top of the little girl's head.
"Me?! Hurt this child?! Have you gone mad! I would never hurt this child! She looks.... she looks too much... like her mother." Jomei said as he started to calm down. "That's why we must keep her existence a secret!" The maid said as she jumped in between Miranda and Jomei. "That's rich! Secret! Ha! You couldn't stand that someone else was having your precious husband's child and decided to kill Sheena for what? T-to take her child as you own?!"
"You're talking nonsense Jomei! Leave and forget what you have seen!" Miranda commanded. Jomei started to laugh hysterically as he watched his stepmother turn back into the monster that she once was. "Your little motherly act fooled me there for a second but then I remembered how much of cold hearted b*tch you are!" Jomei spat. "You're Highness I think you are misunderstanding something." The maid said. Jomei quickly closed the gap between him and the maid and grabbed her face. "What would I be misunderstanding? Tell me are you so cold hearted that you are willing to risk your own life to save this monster's?" Jomei asked but the maid stayed strong.
Jomei released the maids face and grabbed her throat instead. "Tell me!" He growled as he applied pressure."Stop it Jomei! I don't know what's come over you or what you think I have done but if you're upset about something come after me! Let Yuri go!" Miranda shouted. "What you've done?! You disgusting piece of sh*t, you killed Sheena! Aayushi told me everything! You can not hide your crimes any longer!" Jomei said as he flung Yuri back. He then grabbed Miranda's throat and looked her square in the eyes. "Killing you will be the highlight of my day." He hissed as he applied pressure.

"No!" A small voice yelled as her tiny hands grabbed Jomei's wrist. "My mama! No hurt!" She shouted as tears brimmed her eyes. Jomei was completely shocked and instantly let go. He stumbled backwards as Miranda slumped onto the the gra.s.sy field. "Mama okay? No hurt?" The little voice said as Jomei watched the chubby hands gingerly touch Miranda's neck then face. "Oh baby.... I'm okay." Miranda said as she looked at the girl lovingly.
"Your Highness you have it all wrong." Yuri coughed as she got off the ground. "Sheena died during child labour. I was there." Jomei turned to Yuri and his face twisted with anger as he quickly stood up. "Lies!" He shouted causing the small girl to burst into tears. "Enough Jomei! It's the truth! Look we buried her over there. We are letting Summer play with her spirit while we remember her." Miranda yelled as she pointed towards a small marked grave. Freshly picked flowers were laid over top.
Jomei walked up to the grave and dropped to his knees. "But Aayushi said...." Jomei whispered. Miranda walked up to Jomei and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Summer, please say h.e.l.lo to your big brother." Miranda said as she placed the little girl down. "Mama no, he mean." She said as her body shook with fear. "No he's just sad that your mommy is gone." She said as she stroked Summer's head. Summer turned her beautiful gaze to Jomei and bowed. "Mommy seep dare, big broder. No sad."
Jomei burst into tears as he scooped up the child. "I was told you were sleeping too." He cried. Summer looked at him in confusion. "Nap time?" She asked but Miranda shook her head. "No nap, me awake." Summer said as she patted Jomei cheek. "No more sad."
Jomei escorted the ladies back to the stable. His eyes full of determination. "Here you will need this." He said as he handed Miranda a small crest. Miranda looked at it and her eyes grew wide when she saw the stag emblem. "Why would you have this?" She gasped while Yuri ran back to the castle to pack some bags. "My mom was their princess. She left me this just in case my father turned on me.... Take it and escape from here." He said as he placed a hand over top of hers.
"But what about you?" She asked as Summer slept soundly within her embrace. "Don't worry. If everything you said is true I will follow behind you with Aayushi." Jomei said. Yuri was amazing she had taken no more then 10 minutes to run and pack everything they would need. "My Queen we must hurry. I caught sight of some mercenaries walking up to the castle."
Jomei didn't waste any time. He grabbed the bags and loaded it into the horses satchels. "No time you must leave." He said as he finished up while Yuri finished tying Summer to Miranda. "Jomei... I know I have been a good for nothing stepmother in your eyes but all I have ever done was so I could protect you and everyone else." Miranda said gently. "I know. Now I really know." He said as he placed a loving kiss on Miranda's cheek then one on Summer's head. "Take care... Mother." Jomei said before racing back towards the castle.
....
'I had found out that my stepmother was taking medication to avoid conception. When she heard of my father's plans regarding the female staff she started supplying them with the same medication.: Vasu said as he watched Ariana's face. "Then Sheena?" Ariana whispered. Vasu sighed. 'My step-no, my mother never thought he would try to do something like that to a girl so young.'
Ariana gulped. "Vasu what happened next?" Vasu moved out Ariana's embrace. He walked across the gra.s.s and down to the cobblestone road. 'What else I died.' He said. "But what about Aayushi? Your child? Your stepmother? Summer?" Ariana asked. Vasu flinched, he sighed and looked up at the stars. 'This was actually a lot harder then I thought.'
"Oh Vasu... I'm so sorry." Ariana started to say but Vasu jumped into the air and started to float around. 'I said there were two loves in my life... could you guess who the first was?' Vasu said nonchalantly but Ariana could see the pain in his eyes. 'There was only one love in my human life.' He said as he stopped moving.
"Vasu... you lied to me there was no way there was only one love in your human life." Ariana said as she dropped her gaze. "No. I only ever truly, deeply loved one person and I will never forget her. She will always have a place right beside your mother." Vasu said as he floated downwards. "V-Vasu... you were in love with my mother?" Ariana stuttered but Vasu ignored her and started to move towards the forest. "Vasu! Wait!" Ariana shouted as she followed him. "Yes... I fell deeply in love with your mother. Ariana you said before that I was different... why?" Vasu asked as he lead Ariana deeper into the woods.
"...."
'It's alright speak freely... I won't leave you.' Vasu said with a light laugh. "You never acted like the others. You were free. Well I mean you didn't tip toe around me, you openly showed me affection and you spoke up when Aroha said no... So I had always thought that... well that we had a deeper connection then the rest.... I honestly thought of myself as your mother and you my favourite child." Ariana answered honestly. Vasu started laugh whole heartedly. Ariana had never seen him act this way. Vasu was so very stoic and to see himself so open, it caused her great heartache. She knew nothing but acted like she knew everything.
'Ariana, the G.o.ddess of Creation is the master to all. There is no exceptions.' Vasu said as he brought his face towards Ariana's. She instantly flushed. "So the G.o.ddess made the Lumas?" She asked cautiously. Vasu turned and continued to float. 'I was her first experiment. After I died, my soul had no where to go. I longed to die, I pretty much did. I was a walking corpse after my mother pa.s.sed. I found a little bit of light when Sheena came into my life and a little more when Aayushi walked in but just like everything else in my life it was only for a fleeting moment." Vasu said as they finally reached an overgrown entrance.
"Vasu where are we?" Ariana asked as she looked up at a stone door covered in vines and foliage 'Remember this place well. If you ever find life here is too hard come back here. Your blood will activate the door and you can leave.... I don't know where it goes buy it will take you away.' Vasu said as he sat on a fallen tree. Ariana said nothing as she examined the door. There was nothing else around it, just plants and a solid stone door standing in the middle of the forest. "Is this why every stayed behind?" Ariana asked in a hushed tone. 'Yes.'
"Vasu..." Ariana started to say but Vasu went back up into the air. 'The jewel eyed priestess was loved by all. There was going to be unimaginable war. It was already read to break lose when your mother took her place in the Summoning Ceremony. Everyone was armed and ready to kill one another for the chance to become her familiar but the G.o.ddess stepped in. She took my wondering soul and made me into a Luma but back then there were no restrictions on me. My soul chose to become a stag and I stood beside your mom for years. That is until you were born.'
"Like I said I loved your mother just like everyone else but my love started before I was turned into a Luma. I saw her walk up to the stage and couldn't help but fall in love with her courage. You are a lot like her. Head strong, stubborn, positive and kind.' Vasu said as he turned to Ariana. "But Vasu I am not her real child..." Ariana said as she felt a just ache in her heart. 'Do you really think that? Your blood his hers and your father's but your soul was one from another world... Have you ever compared your life from what it was to what it is now? Your soul never actually awakened until much later in life. Why? You were completely conscious when you were born?'
"...I... my memories were sealed." Ariana answered. 'Yes and no... you wanted to whole heartedly live as Ariana. You even gave your own name to those monsters that claimed to be your parents.' Vasu said before he started floating away from the door. "Vasu, I don't understand!" Ariana called out as she chased after Vasu. 'The priestess took her child's soul with her but left you her body. Her blood runs through you... the reason you were summoned into her vessel was because there is a blood tie between you and this child's mother.'
