"Jeremy, you young master Gu I thought your last name was Johnson." Katie says a bit confused.
"No I think there is a mix-up, Jeremy's mother who is from America is called Johnson but his father is Gu" Catherine elaborates. "And how do you know each other? Did you guys date?" Catherine probes, she is a lot chatty when she is tipsy.
"No, we didn't date, we are just old friends" Katie pauses, "you never mentioned that your last name is Gu, I have practically known since we where 16 and you never mentioned it" Katie says a bit disappointed at her friend.
"Well you have to understand, that our young master Gu is a public figure and he can't do without ever he wants, so he keeps a low profile and instead comes out as Jeremy Johnson." Nathan explains to ease the tension
"Well, I guess I can understand that. But I wouldn't have told anyone you know," she murmurs "I get it" she says with half a smile
"I'm sorry, it's just easier to socialize as a regular person, rather 'young master Gu'. But I don't mind you knowing and I should have told you" Jeremy says trying to appease her.
"Okay, no more awkwardness it's a party and I need to have fun." Catherine lazily says has she sits on the sand.
"I'm guessing the meeting with mum didn't go well," James says and joins her on the sand with Katie.
"Well you know your own mother, it's the same story. She wants me to marry some stupid playboy heir" Catherine says with a low voice
"You don't want to get married? Or, you just don't like the man she chose?" Katie asks. "No, it's more like I don't wish to listen to what she says." Catherine says with an indescribable expression on her face, "it's a long story; the short version is I don't have the best relationship with my mother. So let's just move to a brighter topic okay?" Catherine says in a hurry to change the topic.
The rest of the night is filled with laughter as they share stories of their youth, drink, play games and swim.
