Death System 28 Chapter 27

Below the shade of a tree, two goblins could be seen. They had physiques of an 8 years old kid, a bald head, and nose and ears that were much longer and pointed than ordinary human kids. The one with the longest ears shook another that was sleeping peacefully. 

"Oiiiii." 

Shaking his counterpart, the goblin became annoyed at his friend's snore that got louder and the relaxed figure of him laying in all fours in the gra.s.s. Picking up a nearby stick, he swung at his friend's head, "I say wake up already!" 

"Ughyaaa!" 

Jolted awake from the pain in his forehead, the goblin clutched his head as his eyes became teary, "What are you doing, Ukpyo!" 

"That's what I should say!" said Ukpyo as he stepped forward to continue hitting his friend. 

"The h.e.l.l?!" raising his body immediately, Bibi started to run as he shouted, "Idiot Ukpyo!" 

"You are the idiot one!" Chasing him from behind, Ukpyo continued, "The sun is already high in the sky, it's time to forage, dumba.s.s!" 

"No no no, don't wanttt!" replied Bibi as he was still running away. 

"Kid! Dumba.s.s!" said Ukpyo as he picked up some pebbles in his run and threw it to Bibi. 

"Woah!" Dodging the pebbles as he ran, Bibi said, "Murderer!" 

"You!" 

"Enough of this." hands akimbo, a hobgoblin with stature like a 16 years old looked at the two goblins disapprovingly, "Don't run around all over the place. This is no joke. We are at war here, the enemy could-" 

A clear ringing bell echoed through the area as a loud scream accompanied it, "Enemy attacked!" 

Distant booming explosions sounded with the goblins and hobgoblins alike quickly running into their huts and preparing to take weapons. The village was like an ant nest being disturbed where everyone was going around disorderly. 

Bibi and Ukpyo stood with a stunned expression. Slowly, both of them turned their gaze towards the hobgoblin. The corner of his lip twitched as he said, 

"Talking about the devil…"

"Hmm…" 

Sitting in lotus position, Zuyuan scratched his hair and sighed, "Oh well… might as well use it anyway." 

The scroll in his hand began to shine in golden lights and scattered into the air. Then, a notification from the system rang inside his mind. 

[Scroll of advancement trait used. Which trait would you want to upgrade, Missionary?] 

"Path of the banshee, Third layer." 

[Accepted. Commencing the command... ] 

The same feeling from before when he had tried the scroll appeared. Rhythmed his breathing as he waited, soon the feeling slipped away and the notification rang once more. 

[The upgrade was successful. User mastery upon Path of the Banshee, third layer has been leveled up into beginner.] 

[Congratulations! You have acquired a new move from the Path of the Banshee, third layer.] 

Standing up as he stretched his body, Zuyuan looked around while yawning. His b.u.t.ts feel a little numb from sitting for five hours. Although this would disappear immediately if he just flowed the Qigong into it.

"Master." 

XB11 came down from the sky as it reported, "I had found a horde of orcs that was heading to a certain village. The village looked shabby and crude while surrounded by makeshift wooden fences." 

"Oh? Is it a human village?" asked Zuyuan as he rotated his left arm and held his left shoulder. 

"Negative, it was filled with goblins and hobgoblins, Master." answered XB11. 

"Ah, then what are we waiting for? Bring me there." jumping down from the giant elephant he sat all this time, Zuyuan continued, "Lead the way." 

Nodding, XB11 started to fly low into the direction of northeast. Following behind him was Zuyuan who wasn't fazed by the XB11 speed of 80km/hour. Making a huge leap, he started to jump from trunk to trunk and then went to the branches and continued. 

Glanced behind at its master that followed it by jumping branches to branches, XB11 asked, "Shall we a.s.sist the goblins, Master?" 

"We will see." 

In another twelve minutes, Zuyuan was near enough to see the silhouette of some wooden huts. Focusing Qingong in his eyes, his vision zoomed in on the scene and saw the overall situation on the other side. Curling down his lips, he said, "XB11, you make yourself invisible first. I would like to have a talk with the chief first before deciding on something."

"As you command." Replied XB11 as its body began to be surrounded by transparent vector patterns. In another second, it's body blended completely with the surroundings as Zuyuan went towards the village alone. 

Stopping right on the tree that was the nearest from the clearing area, Zuyuan furrowed his eyebrows from watching the battlefield. There were at least fifty of orc warriors he had met before and not to mention the female orcs that were lining up with a slingshot in each of their right hands. 

"Isn't that mean the one from before was a female orc?" murmured Zuyuan to himself. 

Putting this on the back of his mind, he moved his gaze towards the goblins village. Carefully looking for the chief, he saw a certain hobgoblin that were ordering the goblins and hobgoblins near him. Holding a monk staff in his left hand, he was accompanied by a few hobgoblins wearing steel plate armor and one handed sword in their waist. Right behind him was a small figure in black overcoat and held a small staff with a goat skull on top of it. 

"That must be the one…" 

Smiling slightly, Zuyuan took a deep breath as he closed his eyes. After two seconds, he opened his eyes and bent his knees as low as he could. On the next moment, he leaped with all the strength he could muster and kicked out the flow of Qigong he just stored in his feet. 

The giant branch where he once stood was broken into pieces as he flew high in the air. Spinning his body as his momentum began to decrease, he kicked out another Qigong in the air and dive straight at the guarded hobgoblin. 

*Boom!* 

The ground right in front of the hobgoblin erupted with dirt as the hobgoblin warriors reacted right away. Drawing all of their swords from the scabbard, they shielded the hobgoblin as their swords pointed at Zuyuan. 

Stepping out from the small crater, Zuyuan smiled and said lightly, 

"Well, the reinforcement had arrived."
