The Universe Conspired For Us To Meet 147 I Know My Maya

He nervously began fidgeting his fingers.

Ronnie was once delegated an additional work of interrogating a few terrorists. It was then he'd learnt a part of interrogating using human psychology as the basis.

He realised that Virat knew something but was panicking to talk.

So Ronnie comforted him, "Mr Virat Mishra, it's totally okay! The reason I asked is, my wife was a familiar face of your University. Most probably you wouldn't know, because she's from Business Administration and you are from Engineering… you belong to different streams and-"

Before Ronnie could complete his sentence, Virat opened his mouth to say, "I know my Maya…"

Ronnie's eyes emitted a dangerous streak of light. 'My Maya?'

Before he could think further, Virat continued speaking… "I mean, who doesn't know Maya? The entire University knew her… she was the face of our college… she was and is still the dream girl of many male students of our University. Every boy's dream was to be Maya's boyfriend...Each of us were her fans…. We all admired her and would each call her 'My Maya…'

Ronnie inwardly relaxed on hearing his explanation for using, 'My Maya.'

"But then after the intercollege fest, she and a few other girls went missing. Everybody a.s.sumed that she must have died in the disaster. Especially when she didn't come for so long and didn't even appear for the final exams." Virat explained.

He continued to explain, "But then, when I saw her the other day at the party, I was shocked by her sudden appearance here. Actually, even she was one of the students placed here at our company. All of us were destined to come here.... If not for that disaster..."

Virat became cautious and immediately changed the direction of their conversation tactfully, "Especially the song she sang… that was her favourite song. This song won her many laurels during her college days."

Ronnie gave a half smile on hearing that it was her favourite song back then. "Thank you so much for all this information Mr Virat Mishra! The reason I asked you this is, my wife doesn't remember a thing of the past.... to an extent that she doesn't even know her name...."

Virat's eyes were about to pop out of his sockets on hearing what Ronnie said. He didn't even know how he'd to react. "W-What??!!"

Ronnie paused and drew in a long breath, "Mmm, she injured her head when she fell. I accidentally happened to pa.s.s by the same place and time she fell. That's how, I rescued her. I almost thought I'd lost her. But then, thankfully she woke up. And when she did, she woke up with zero memories of her past...."

Everything seemed to have fallen in place for Virat now. 'So, this is the reason my Maya doesn't recognise me. If it wasn't for this disaster, she'd still be mine-' He stopped midway in his thoughts when Ronnie continued speaking further…

"To be very honest, I thank heavens for the very fact that she's even alive today and with me. The same way, even our love was never planned and now that it has happened to us, we got married.." Ronnie said.

Though Virat knew it, he felt like lightning strike him at the mention of their marriage. But he swallowed down his emotions and continued to intently listen to him.

Even Ronnie himself didn't know why he explained so much in detail. But then, he somehow felt glad that he said it all

Virat suddenly spoke, "Mr Roy, haven't you got her treated at any hospital?"

"Oh yes Mr Virat Mishra.. We've our family doctor. I've been in touch with him regularly. She's on treatment too.." Ronnie answered him.

"You are doing great Mr Roy. But then, what if she wakes up one fine day with the memories of her past? What if she had someone in her past life she loved or she wanted to marry? What if that person she loved confronts you?" Virat narrowed his eyes and questioned Ronnie.
