"Jayne, I've already shortlisted the popular pop singers before designing since I'd to look at their costumes to know the kind of apparel I needed to design. Guess, it'll be helpful to us now." Shirley took out a folder and handed it over to Jayne.
"Oh! That's great Shirley! This will be of great help to us. We can finalise on this once Ronnie comes back then." Jayne excitedly took the folder and left home.
The next day was a Friday. Ronnie would be coming back on Sunday. Jayne was obviously in high spirits. As usual she missed the morning mischief her husband did to her every other day.
'Just two more days baby! You'll be surprised to know what all I've done back here! Can't wait to see you hubby!' She gleefully said to herself.
Then she got ready and left to the university as usual. Katherine Bradford and her team were low-key for the time being. So Jayne didn't have any problem. Amidst her busy schedule, she had almost forgotten about the Fresher's day mishaps too.
After her cla.s.ses, Jayne went to the company as usual. She checked on the developments of all the departments. She was quite satisfied with their current progress.
So, Jayne decided to leave early that evening since everything was going as per her plan. Only two days were left before Ronnie would come back. She wanted to surprise him with a welcome gift. Hence, she ordered the driver to take her to the shopping area.
Coincidentally on that day, Virat and Sanvi too finished their office and went shopping to the same upmarket area. They hadn't bought enough formal-clothing while coming. Hence, they went shopping to buy some new clothes.
After their shopping, Sanvi was totally famished. Virat suggested that they grab a quick bite before leaving. They saw a pastry shop, 'Bake a Cake.' Through the transparent walls of the shop, they saw colorful, mouth-watering pastries, chocolates, cakes and more on display. They looked at each other's face which were lit up like Christmas trees. Neither of them said anything. They excitedly walked in grinning from ear to ear.
Jayne didn't know what to buy. She strolled on the pavements thinking she'd randomly buy anything, big or small she likes. A placard hanging near a pastry shop 'Bake a Cake,' caught her eyes.
It read, 'Indulge yourself in baking a cake for yourself or your loved ones!'
She stopped in her tracks and suddenly her eyes sparkled like stars in the night sky. There were three doors to the pastry shop. She took the nearest door and got inside.
At the same time, Virat and Sanvi came out of another door to the pastry shop totally satisfied.
"h.e.l.lo Ma'am! Good evening! How may I help you? What would you like to buy?" asked the lady behind the counter to Jayne.
Jayne turned to answer her. "Hey! I read the placard outside your store. Could you brief me on that?"
Virat and Sanvi took a few steps from the shop when Virat suddenly felt something amiss. He checked his pockets. "Sanvi, wait for me! I guess I missed something. Let me go check."
"Sure Virat!" Sanvi said.
He went back to their seats to check if he'd left anything. He had actually left his handkerchief which was gifted by Maya. He smacked his head for leaving it there carelessly.
But then, even after carefully stuffing the handkerchief in his pocket, he wasn't fully satisfied. He had that feeling that there was still something amiss.
He casually turned to his left and saw a lady wearing a long black trench coat. Her hair was tied into a high ponytail.
Virat could sense a resemblance to the back profile of the woman standing there. He stood rooted to his spot. In his mind he had only one thought, "Why do I feel that it's my Maya?"
