"Icing wind!" Cold air picked up fueling the flames of the fireball as Chie continued to make the pathway for her and her friends.

Taking out a bow Saya aimed at the men, she momentarily stopped running and took stance releasing the arrow. "Piercing arrow!"

Music melody from Yuya's flute picked up as the girls glowed blue than purple to switch finally red.

"Improved water magic resistance, Improved reflexes and finally increase magic power pool." She glared at the enemies a harsh music was then heard.

The girls froze the middleman was a mage type as well he had erected a barrier at the last moment.

Those enemies were prime and proper… not even a dent of a scratch.

They glared and took a battle stance, sakura tsked at the site.

The girls immediately jumped back and placed Speranza in the middle after all she might as well be a gla.s.s cannon… She was heavily pregnant unable to afford being hit a single time, most frustrating was that in firepower magic she was still unbeaten.

"Still for a time I'll unleash an electrical spell if the fire doesn't work maybe lightning will cook em' nice and warm." her lips curled into a grin, they were water-based after all even if lightning magic wasn't her favourite she could still defend herself with it.

Demona walked next to her they joined their hands as they closed their eyes to evoke the magic of lightning storms.

The girls were roughly less than thirty meters away from Arkalat and more and more enemies poured up from the water.

Each time one was beaten two more showed. The girls looked battered and tired. Inch away from pa.s.sing out. They were starting to lose ground again Speranza magic pool had emptied a long time ago and with it so did her state of consciousness. Yuya sakura and Saya had reached their limit once they did they to would collapse on the floor. Only Demona and Chie still had a bit of a reserve and it was emptying fast.

Ten more warriors showed up the girls cursed in their heart the b.a.s.t.a.r.d were clearly toying with them. They had the numbers to one-sidedly crush them but didn't what the h.e.l.l was the reason? Were they s.a.d.i.s.tically enjoying the torment inflicted on them?

"Saya, Yuya we need to get Speranza out of here we won't make it" Sakura paused panting and gasping heavily hands on her knees as she glared at the smirking aquarians men. "So use the rune and escape." She said to Demona and Chie. "We will hold them off as long as we can…"

"Denied." Bast said solemnly as he appeared next to Chie.

"We use the runes but no one is left behind." His appearance was worse than a beggar. Cloth all tattered cuts and bruised all over his mask half destroyed revealing his good features black messy hair flowed out freely.

Two loud roar and deafening screech filled their ears and the enemies all forced to cover them as the pain of the sound was too much. Like an angry dragon was emptying its lungs out. The eco-made it ever worse multiplying the sound by thousand.

Wyverns landed, more as they had crash-landed near them. As they unleashed their breath magic at the enemies. They had defeated the Octopus-like creature. And its ma.s.sive screech was what incapacitated the enemies.

Taking a rune Arkalat crushed it to unleash its magic. He could not complete the mission to return. This ambush was too wide to be just an ambush. There was a traitor in the king's mist his eyes slithered and turned savage.

He lost all his men while they were not the regular army those had signed over to him as the leader but no matter what a hundred people were no match for a trained professional army.

Just as the magic circles started forming one jumped to slash the magic which would then negate the teleportation. Bast wanted to jump in to meet the blade but was held back and strongly shoved back inside it.

"Protect her well all of you until we meet again." It was all he heard as his leader stormed out of the magic to meet the blade.

Chie and the others eyes went wide they all had been pinned down by knives to keep them from moving out, the black wyvern followed it's master to the battle.

Speranza opened her eyes as he had stepped out stunned frozen as tears ran down her cheeks.

He wouldn't port with them there was no telling when they would meet again she tried to get up. But her body had become numb her mana pool had just barely enough for her to be conscious.

Her mind was foggy but she understood clearly. He might never return to her!

His blood glowing red eyes held within them only bloodl.u.s.t, his aura had totally changed and if Speranza had seen this she would never believe he was her husband and lover.
