After tossing his opponent to the side, Seth jumped from one platform to another, ultimately arriving on the roof of the tallest building in the area.
The Zefer family's troops could be seen on this side, fighting the soldiers of the Bilin family. The gate had already been broken down, and they are now fighting on flat pavement. Some archers would stand on the nearby buildings' rooftops to rain down arrows.
The only problem is the difference in numbers. As can be seen from Seth's current overhead view, the Zefer family's side numbers around 300, including both the troops of the Zefer family, and those of its subordinate families.
Meanwhile, the Bilin family's troops numbers almost 3 times as much... If it weren't for Seth and his father personally partic.i.p.ating in the battle, their forces would have already been overwhelmed and lost.
One reason for the greater number of troops that the Bilin family has, can be told from the different faces that over half their numbers have.
Those faces that exhibit the unruliness of outlaws belongs to bandits. They are dirty and unshaven, and have barbarous expressions that delight in slaughter. They wear less armor than the great families' soldiers, causing them to expose their unruly hair and tattoo-covered skin.
But even if the Wolfing gang had sent people beforehand to a.s.sist the Bilin family, the Zefer family's side should not be facing this many opponents here. There should have been a limit to the total number of bandits the Bilin family would have been able to support.
"Gelard, give me a binocular."
The blue striped kitty reached a paw into his garment's pouch, and pulled out a blue binocular.
Seth took it, and looked into it. He scanned over to the other battlefield at the other side of the Bilin family mansion grounds. Then, he cursed. "Useless trashes!"
Through the lens, Seth could see that the gate on the other side, that the Amnon family was attacking, hadn't even fallen.
These gates weren't made out of bricks and stone.
They were actually metal fences, the kind with thin metal bars stabbed into the ground, and are easy to maintain. They're the type that are not easy to cut down, but are easy to crush if you have a heavy enough object, like for example, a battering ram.
That was exactly how the Zefer family got through on their side, and it's impossible that the Amnon family can't afford a single battering ram...
The situation on the other side, is just both sides firing arrows at each other over the gate. There is no need to mention deaths. Few people are even getting hurt. The Bilin family barely had to send any people over there to hold the line. This explains why they have so many over here instead.
"I hate people other than me that like to act smart!" Handing back the binocular, Seth jumped off the building, and proceeded to run off to somewhere.
…
"All we have to do now is keep up this farce until the Zefer family can barely hold out. Then, we'll enter the fray and finish off the enemies they've weakened for us. Father, you're amazing." Erland Amnon praised.
Karlan Amnon smiled. Right now, he and his son are standing on the roof of a tall building just as Seth had been not long ago. They are watching the proceedings while feeling quite relaxed.
"All the Zefer family needs is enough troops to keep the members of the Bilin family from escaping. They don't need any more than that. The more casualties they suffer, the less we will. In the battle against the Wolfing gang afterwards, the total sum of our troop won't be any less."
Feeling quite proud of himself, Karlan Amnon continued watching the other side. As someone who was able to reach the peak of the heroic bearings stage, it was unlikely that he would have bad eyesight. Although they are not as good as they were during his prime, they could still allow him to see the overall situation over at other side of the Bilin family mansion. He is just waiting for the moment when enough of the Zefer family's troops have been killed. That would be the moment for him to order his own men to charge.
Close to an hour later...
Karlan Amnon's eyes suddenly narrowed. From afar, he could see a figure waving straight at him.
Thinking that this could not be a coincidence, he took out a telescope. This telescope isn't anything fancy, and is certainly not the pricey type that could be used to view the stars, but it can allow him to make out the details of things a good distance away.
Seeing the details of that figure and what it was holding in its other hand, Karlan Amnon's old face distorted. His fist tightened as he yelled in hatred. "Accursed devil-sp.a.w.n!"
…
"You b.a.s.t.a.r.d! You devil! Let go of me!" Lady Kesha shrieked. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she was constantly gritting her teeth to withstand the pain.
Her hair was in a bundle, being pulled along by Seth's brutish strength. Although she has the weight of an adult woman, it didn't seem to be taking any effort for Seth to drag her across the ground.
Like this, they had traveled all the way from the Zefer family mansion where lady Kesha was previously resting till here, totaling over a kilometer of distance.
At first, it still wasn't as bad, as lady Kesha was still able to yell and struggle while running along as she was dragged. But after having ran enough to tire her out, coupled with her old injury, her hands, knees, arms, and legs, began meeting the ground, sc.r.a.ping against it, causing them to bleed all over. She felt that she was being skinned alive.
When Seth had finally arrived at his destination, and jumped up till the top of a building, lady Kesha screamed. During each of those jumps, she felt as if her scalp was going to be pulled off of her head, and her neck was going to rip and cause her head to be pulled off from her body.
However, in the end, she was still able to land on the roof fully intact.
After she finished grimacing from the pain, Lady Kesha was able to make out the sounds of fighting coming from down below. Isn't this at the Bilin family's mansion, where a war had already begun? What was Seth planning, bringing her here?
"You devil, let me go! Don't believe that milord wouldn't hear about this. You won't go unpunished!" She hatefully yelled. She yelled so loudly, that it was obvious that she was trying to reach out to her husband who should be in the battlefield below.
She wanted him to save her, but there was no reply. He must be too busy fighting to care about her.
Either that, or even he felt dissatisfied with the Amnon family's inaction, and thus wanted her to suffer...
Seth wasn't paying any attention to lady Kesha. Neither did he release her from his grip.
Nearly a hour had pa.s.sed since he left the battlefield, and came back with lady Kesha in tow. The battle was still going on. Due to the numbers disadvantage, the troops on the Zefer family's side had suffered quite a bit.
As if hoping to end the battle sooner, the head of the Bilin family, Rook Bilin, also came to the field himself. He was currently fighting toe to toe with Merab Zefer. Due to their similar levels of battle strength, their fight wasn't going to conclude any time soon.
Seth looked into the distance.
Meanwhile, Lady Kesha was trying to pry off Seth's hand and fingers. Unfortunately, she was utterly unable to move his iron grip. She had tried scratching at him with her nails, which resulting in scratch marks being left on his skin, while she had it worse. Her nails broke, as if what she clawed at wasn't flesh, but metal instead.
When Seth suddenly started waving energetically into the distance, Lady Kesha had a bad feeling.
She tried looking at that direction, but she was unable to make anything out.
Seth however, was able to see clearly, with Gelard laying atop his head and holding the binoculars for him. When he had finally seen the head of the Amnon family, lady Kesha's father, Karlan Amnon, staring back at him, he smiled.
He stepped onto lady Kesha's torso with one foot, causing her to let out a groan.
Then, he grabbed one of lady Kesha's slender arms, and without hesitation...
RIIPPP!!!
"Ahhhhhh!!!" Lady Kesha released a blood-curling scream, her face distorted in absolute pain. Tears flowed down her cheeks as she couldn't stop crying. Her right hand reached for her left shoulder, but she felt nothing there.
"Myyy arrmmm!!!" The voice she released was absolutely mournful.
Not a shred of guilt could be seen on Seth's face after having done this to a woman. Instead, he was waving that b.l.o.o.d.y, severed arm in the direction of lady Kesha's father.
"He will get the message, right? I won't have to attach a letter to a bird to let him know what he has to do, right?"
Slightly worried, Seth pulled the crying lady Kesha up, to better show her wound to the man watching in the distance.
