"That kid isn't the sp.a.w.n of a devil. He's the devil himself!" He roared, startling his son besides him. "Erland, go get me that little girl Mirun! Two can play at this game!"
"Huh? What? Game?" Erland was confused. Why did his father suddenly go mad? He wanted to take out a telescope himself and see what that figure is about, but his father's expression looked urgent. Thus, he immediately complied, running off towards the Amnon family mansion.
Having sent his son away, Karlan Amnon was left bristling in anger alone on the rooftop. He just continued glaring at Seth's direction.
Only 3 minutes pa.s.sed, and then...
"G.o.d*amn him!!" Karlan Amnon roared again. He saw Seth ripping off the only remaining arm of his daughter, Kesha Amnon. Blood spurted out, and he could see her crying tragically.
It would seem, that little devil is not the patient type.
Karlan could easily stop Seth from doing this by ordering his troops to charge, but that would ruin his plans.
What he wanted was to weaken the Zefer family to the point that after they get through this bandit ordeal, the Amnon family would have a great enough advantage over the Zefer family, to the point that they could crush them and take over the city for themselves.
Compared to that goal, what does the life of one daughter matter? Although Karlan Amnon cares more about his children than the Merab Zefer of the past, he still places the benefits of the family higher than the safety of any one of his children.
Thus, even as he watched his daughter suffering irreparably, he never thought of submitting. Even if he were to hear her cries of "Father, Save me!!", he wouldn't falter.
Another 3 minutes later, Seth tugged at one of lady Kesha's legs as she kicked and screamed. Pulling backwards, he ripped it off. For a moment, indescribable agony was written all over lady Kesha's face. Then, she fainted.
The amount of blood that was lost from her losing a leg, compared to her losing an arm, was much greater, and so was the shock.
Karlan Amnon's face turned pale. His daughters were not martial artists, meaning that they do not have the endurance of fighters. To them, having a leg severed, and losing that much blood, would result in only one outcome.
Karlan Amnon felt tears about to appear in his eyes as he witnessed the death of his daughter.
He was swearing inside, that he will make Seth taste the same pain of losing a close relative. He will make him regret angering him!
Seconds later though, to Karlan Amnon's surprise, he could see through the lens of his telescope, Seth slapping his daughter awake. It turned out that she was miraculously, still alive.
3 minutes later... Lady Kesha lost her last leg.
…
"Seems like your father does not care much about you." Seth casually commented. By his side, lied a limbless woman, mumbling something incoherent with lifeless eyes.
After having one arm torn off, she was still able to curse.
After having her other arm torn off, she was crying for help.
After having a leg torn off, she fainted. When she woke up, she was weak and begging.
After having her last leg torn off, she fainted again. When she awoke, she fell into complete despair.
Miraculously, she did not die throughout all of that. After the initial spurts of blood from having each of her limbs torn off, no more blood flowed out. Although it was strange, neither Seth, nor the kitty tying bandages around the woman said anything.
Seth sat down cross-legged and started thinking.
"What do I do now? How do I solve this situation..."
After some minutes, he asked, "Gelard, do you have oil?"
Gelard, who was done bandaging lady Kesha, expanded his pouch. Then, he stuck his head inside.
It looked comical, like he had turned into a slightly big furball, but he was just checking inventory.
After the kitty brought his head out of the pouch, he said, "Kitty has oil."
"Do you have matches?"
The kitty stuck his head back into his pouch. When his face came out again, he said, "Kitty has no matches, but kitty has flamethrower."
Seth rubbed his chin in thought. The image that brought up, of a kitty lugging around a flamethrower, spewing fire everywhere, was somewhat... funny. "Then that will do. I want you to set the Bilin family's mansion on fire. Start it from the other side where the Amnon family is. That way, the blame will be placed on them."
Gelard's eyes widened. "You want kitty to be an arsonist!?"
Seth made a amused expression. "Why are you speaking about it like it's some big crime? We did worse in the past. Or would you prefer using a time bomb?"
Alarmed, Gelard quickly shook his head left and right. "Kitty does not want to escape again with only 30 seconds on the clock. Kitty will set the house the fire." Having said that, kitty started waddling in the direction of the Bilin family's mansion.
"Remember to help me protect that girl Irene afterwards~. You remember who she is, right?"
"Kitty remembers." Kitty said as kitty performed a thumbs up with his back turned.
…
A fire raged, as Rook Bilin fought toe to toe with Merab Zefer. His steel spear clashed with Merab Zefer's saber, repeatedly making sounds of metal clanging, and sending sparks flying into the air. When the light of the fire behind him caught his eye, he yell out in anger.
"So this was your plan, you villainous monsters! I had thought that your Zefer family was the only one fighting so hard because the Amnon family had tricked you, but you were actually just a decoy. You fought me while those fiends from the Amnon family set my mansion on fire! You want to kill all the descendants of my family first!"
"Don't blame me. I know nothing about that." Merab Zefer was confused as well. This fire was never in their plans. Even though Merab Zefer was dissatisfied with the Amnon family having been doing practically nothing, he never expected them to do this.
According to the contract he wrote with Karlan Amnon, the Bilin family's mansion, and every material item within it, would be the Amnon family's loot of war after the battle has ended. Why would they be dumb enough to burn it down?
Rook didn't have the time to play the game of blame with Merab Zefer. He immediately ordered his men. "Soldiers of my Bilin family, go into the fire and rescue my children! Men from the Wolfing gang, hold the fort here!" Then, he retreated.
Immediately after, 2 men from the Wolfing gang took his place to fight against Merab Zefer. Although these two were only at the mid heroic bearings stage, with the help of their weaker fellow bandits, although they would still be at risk, as long as Merab Zefer doesn't go all out in a frenzied attack, they would be able to hold him back.
Still, with the retreat of the Bilin family's soldiers, the pressure on the Zefer family's and their subordinates grew much weaker, giving them a chance to start a counterattack.
…
Karlan Amnon was shocked. Why has the Bilin family's mansion suddenly set on fire? And it's a great blaze threatening to engulf the entire mansion. This was a fire so great that he would need countless fire arrows to set it. It even began from this side, even though he did not order any people to sneak in and start it.
Suddenly, Karlan Amnon panicked. "My rewards!!"
Realizing the severity of the situation, he no longer dilly-dallied. He immediately ordered his men. "Break through the gate! Enter the mansion and steal everything! Save the doc.u.ments! Take the treasures! Kill all the women and children! Move! Fast! Fast!"
The 300 to 400 soldiers under him moved with speed like never before.
Soon, the gate was broken, and they charged in.
It didn't take long to break through the low number of men stationed on this side by the Bilin family.
The soldiers of the Amnon family started breaking into the mansion.
Karlan didn't care if some of his soldiers were to die from the fire, as long as they could save all the valuables within.
Cries erupted from within the burning mansion. Set on fire, people jumped out of the windows, hoping to survive.
Smoke rose into the air. Within the mansion, one lifeless body after another fell onto the floors.
