Long Xi said with much confusion, "There shouldn't be rabbits, snow leopards and antelope lambs in this place! Unless someone is purposely bringing these animals here?"

Mo Kun shook his head to express that he had no idea as well.

But in actual fact, he did. He was the one that brought these animals here! However, he would not tell Long Xi the truth for now.

He pa.s.sed the lamb to her.

Long Xi brought out a cooking knife from a bag and removed the skin of the lamb swiftly. After cleaning out its organs, she pierced a large branch through the lamb's body and started roasting it over the bonfire.

As the flame swallowed up the dead branches, it produced a series of popping sounds. Mo Kun looked at Long Xi cooly roasting the lamb without saying a word. He suddenly felt an inexplicable warmth.

He swallowed his saliva, picked up some leaves and laid a layer of leaves near the bonfire. He carried the snow leopard and placed it onto the layer of leaves. After seeing that it was big enough to be its bed, he nodded in satisfaction and headed into the woods again.

Long Xi rotated the lamb slowly as she sprinkled some salt and c.u.min powder onto it. Every now and then, she would glance towards Mo Kun, who was hustling in the woods.

He was picking cherries from a fully-blossomed wild cherry tree in the woods. He did not know who planted it there.

While the flame continues to burn, the lamb meet turned golden brown and oil started dripping down. The air was filled with a mouth-watering aroma.

Her cooking skills were not a joke. Just by sprinkling some salt and c.u.min powder, she was also to deliver a delicious roasted lamb without any other ingredients or tools. It was as good as what a five-star hotel would deliver.

Long Xi could tell that the lamb was already cooked and lifted it away from the fire. At this moment, Mo Kun returned from the woods.

He held onto a big leaf and walked towards her. He placed everything on his hands beside her. It was a small mountain of bright red cherries that shone like pearls.

Long Xi's brows were raised. This type of cherry was very sweet and was also her favorite. However, the branches on the cherry tree were filled with thorns, even the edges of the leaves were jagged. He could have easily cut himself.

She moved her gaze towards the pair of hands hidden behind his back. She then turned to look at his handsome features that were out of this world. Her eyes became damp, and her tears resembled tiny crystal-clear diamonds.

Mo Kun felt that the girls on earth were such strange creatures! He had only given her some cherries and she was moved to this extent? Wasn't she crying too easily?

"The lamb is done, come over and eat, "Long Xi said. She tore off a delicious leg from the lamb and handed it to him. Her face was beaming with satisfaction.

Mo Kun froze for a moment. He had never thought that she would put in so much effort into cooking this only to let him eat it.

It tasted so good! He almost ate his tongue as well.

Long Xi wiped the cherries till they were clean and started devouring them.

She placed some of them into her pocket. The cherries laid there silently, warming her soul and her heart that was once blanketed by the lonely snow through the thin layer of cloth.

The sky started the darken and before they knew it, moonlight poured onto the ground.

Mo Kun sat beside Long Xi in silence. He carefully devoured the lamb that she had roasted for him by the small flickering flame.

It was the best thing he had ever eaten. Nothing was comparable to it.

The delicious aroma that lingered everywhere caused his heart to feel full. Unknowingly, the corners of his mouth formed an arc that served as first-hand evidence.

"This type of cherry can even be turned into wine! I'll make some for you," Long Xi said.

"Turned into wine?" Mo Kun asked in confusion while he continued eating. He had grown up eating compressed nutrients and drinking filtered tap water. He never knew that water can be turned into wine, and all the more did he not know what does wine tastes like.

Long Xi stared at him with her wide-opened clear eyes and nodded seriously.

It was the first time in his life that he blushed. Ever since he was born, he had been forced to mature quickly. He had never experienced this before... The taste of sweet liquor was starting to ferment in his heart.

"This is a very good type of cherry, and you can use them to make wine when they mature even more, "she said.

"Really? Then we'll come and pick them again during then!" Mo Kun's face was filled with antic.i.p.ation.

Long Xi laughed from her heart.

Perhaps Mo Kun had not realized it at all, but Long Xi could sense that he was subconsciously ready to continue interacting with her like this.

Long Xi also wanted to share the happy moments in life with Mo Kun. She even wanted to turn this happiness into her personal possession from then on.

Mo Kun sniffed the smell on his body, picked up his backpack and said, "I'll go take a bath at the lake we saw just now. Don't go anywhere. And don't peak!"

Long Xi blushed and said, "Who would do that?"

Mo Kun smiled and left with a towel in hand.

Actually, Long Xi wanted to take a bath too, but she was afraid to go alone for fear of any unpredicted event happening. However, if she were to go with Mo Kun, she feared that some things, which were better not mentioned, would happen. "Sigh, it's so complicated!"

"Howl..." A low howl broke the silence. It was followed by the sound of wings flapping and birds screaming...

It traveled from the depths of the forest.

Long Xi traced the source of the sound and walked towards the forest. After taking a turn, her gaze froze once she saw it.

A giant golden-color bird was crazily attacking a four-legged animal on the ground with its beak.

After looking deeper, the four-legged animal turned out to be a snow leopard. Its skin was stained with fresh blood, which was as bright as the flames in a fire.

This was very strange! How could there be a golden eagle and a snow leopard in this kind of place? This was a city! Although it was the countryside of a city, spotting an owl was already a big deal!

This was very spooky! The snow leopard should be called 'b.l.o.o.d.y leopard'; it was so pitiful!

At this moment, the trees were dancing. The moonlight shone through the branches onto the ground as spots. A lonely light reflected against the blue lake far away. The scenery was beautiful, but it formed an extremely stark contrast with the scene in front of her eyes. Her heart ached.

The golden eagle looked like an eagle with golden-colored feathers. There were two white feathers on its head, which was very eye-catching.

It ruthlessly attacked the snow leopard that was lying on the ground helplessly. The snow leopard was covered with wounds and Long Xi could tell that it was unable to fight back.

Suddenly, the golden eagle flew up into the sky. After twirling a full circle, it stretched out its claws and swooped over to the snow leopard. It looked like it was ready to grab onto its back and carry it into the sky before dropping it to death from mid-air.
