Chapter 35

After Christmas, Feng Fei returned to school for two days and asked for a leave of absence.

Although he was a high school student, there were still some special circ.u.mstances. Ni Mei Lin didn't say much after understanding the situation and directly approved the holiday.

When Feng Fei asked for a leave, Hai Xiu was in the cla.s.sroom that time. Feng Fei stood outside the cla.s.sroom for a while, then he took out his mobile phone and took a photo of Hai Xiu. He smiled, turned around and walked downstairs.

After Feng Fei was gone, Hai Xiu finally realized what a day drags past like a year means.

Starting from the morning self-study, no one would shamelessly lie down on the table and not read the books. Thus, Hai Xiu had to adapt but it took him a long time to read a book.

Feng Fei was always very early everyday, but he was always sleepy during self-study. Not unless they didn't finish the homework yesterday and had to catch up the next day, otherwise he would just put a book on the table, laid down on it and sleep. This kind of habit was very bad, they couldn't rely on stock knowledge if they wanted to graduate, afterall sufficient study time was the most important.

When Hai Xiu and Feng Fei still weren't that familiar with each other, Hai Xiu would read it aloud in Feng Fei's ear. Later on when they became close, he found out that Feng Fei has a very good temper. Hai Xiu would elbow him gently, or poke him until Feng Fei would generally sit up and frowned at Hai Xiu then continue reading.

Hai Xiu on the other hand, would pretend that he accidentally b.u.mped into Feng Fei and leaned back to the side, secretly coaxing.

However, there were times that Feng Fei had a temper, didn't want to read and only wanted to sleep. But Hai Xiu didn't seem to see it and would still innocently poke him, only to get his hand pulled and used as a pillow, then Feng Fei would continue sleeping.

There was a time when their math teacher sat in front of the podium and was looking at the students who were doing a self-study. At that time, Feng Fei wasn't seen at all, he still took Hai Xiu's arm and slept soundly. Hai Xiu's nervous face flushed as he tried to pull his arm out several times but did not succeed. However, it annoyed Feng Fei and bit his arm lightly in retaliation.

Now he didn't have to supervise Feng Fei but he was more absent-minded when he read a book. He always thought of Feng Fei, but he would only see an empty table and chair every time he turned his head to look for him.

And during break time, no one would deliberately stay in the cla.s.s and surprised him by taking out the small snacks that were prepared earlier. No one to accompany him and to chat with him either.

Hai Xiu wiped the blackboard, tidy up the podium and washed his hands. He returned to his seat and suddenly thought of lots of things. Why did it take him a year to finally become aware that… he wasn't definitely suited to be alone?

Because he could communicate with people who he was familiar with now. Although he was still stuttering, he wasn't nervous at all like before. He would occasionally open his mouth and talk without any problems. People around him would never think that he was different from others, at most they'd just laugh at him for being shy.

It was also break time that day when Feng Fei patted his shoulder from behind and asked him on why didn't he go down for the cla.s.s break.

Hai Xiu turned to look at Feng Fei's empty table and thought that Feng Fei was simply an angel. Although this kind of angel was a bit mischievous, occasionally irritable and fight with people.

He even found out that Feng Fei cornered the pervert in Mujia Hot Spring and beat him.

Feng Fei was really mad that day. He put too much weight in his hand and punched the guy's face, wanting to kill him. That was why when he smashed the other party, he also hurt his hand. After he finished playing, he didn't notice it. As night came, the skin at the back of his hand started showing a little bit of bruising. When Hai Xiu found out, Feng Fei had to honestly confessed about the incident. After listening, Hai Xiu was moved and scared at the same time. He then bought a medicine to dispel the stasis and let the blood circulate properly. Fortunately, it wasn't that serious and would be fine in a few days.

Taking advantage of the fact that there was no one in the cla.s.sroom at the moment, Hai Xiu secretly took out his medicine bottle from the desk. He poured out two pieces of collagen, carefully put it in his mouth and swallowed it with water.

Hai Xiu breathed out a sigh of relief and once again rejoiced that he was hiding it well. Up until now, he hadn't let Feng Fei find that he has this kind of illness.

Of course, Hai Xiu sometimes felt guilty. He felt that he wasn't sincere enough to Feng Fei. Feng Fei never concealed anything from him, but he himself had been hiding his illness to Feng Fei… No way, he didn't really want Feng Fei to know that he was a person with a mental illness.

Will Feng Fei think that he is terrible?

Hai Xiu shook his head hard. His condition wasn't that serious, and now that he became more and more normal, Feng Fei would never find out.

After hiding the medicine bottle, Hai Xiu began to clean Feng Fei's desk.

It was just half a day, but Feng Fei's desk was flooded with blank papers.

Hai Xiu carefully sorted the papers and put them in a folder.

After doing it, Hai Xiu got up and went to the back of the cla.s.sroom to fill up his water bottle. When he came back, he saw that it was only ten minutes since the break time started.

Hai Xiu couldn't believe it. He always thought that break time was so short, like he hadn't said a few words to Feng Fei yet their cla.s.smates already came back. But he had done so many things today and it was only pa.s.sed ten minutes!

Hai Xiu looked at Feng Fei's desk in a daze. Then he got up and sat on Feng Fei's chair a bit embarra.s.sed.

It felt very fresh.

The cla.s.s would change seats from left to right each month, everyone would adjust their seats. But no matter on which side, Feng Fei would always let Hai Xiu sit inside, unwilling to let him sit on the outside position.

In fact, this kind of position was too troublesome, he was tired of going in and out.

Back then, he didn't dare talk to Feng Fei. During break time, he would only go out if Feng Fei wasn't in his seat. However, he learned his lesson later on. Thus, if he wanted to go out, he just had to talk to Feng Fei and the boy would be very happy to move out of the way. But there were exceptions… Sometimes he would purposely tease Hai Xiu by not letting him go out unless he called Feng  Fei big brother. Sometimes Feng Fei would lean on the chair and stared at Hai Xiu with a smile on his face, not moving at all.

Usually, it wasn't a problem. But there was a time when Feng Fei took advantage of the cla.s.sroom not having many students in it to pester Hai Xiu into calling him “hubby”. Having already had enough of his usual antics, Hai Xiu couldn't take it anymore. He took advantage of his skinny frame to slip away when Feng Fei wasn't paying attention. Since Feng Fei was distracted, he couldn't catch Hai Xiu in time when the latter ran off.

But Feng Fei didn't immediately run after him. The corridor was too crowded that time, and he was afraid of causing Hai Xiu to panic and knock into something. That wasn't a desirable outcome.

Instead, Feng Fei slowly got up, followed Hai Xiu and casually cornered the kid in a cubicle. He even locked the door and held the startling Hai Xiu, then started kissing him mercilessly……

Hai Xiu's face flushed at the memory. Why was he relishing ah?!

He breathed out. Feng Fei was only gone for one day and yet he was thinking about him nonstop.

His cla.s.smates still weren't back yet, Hai Xiu almost suspected that they had already started the sports meeting below. How could time pa.s.s so slow ah?

Hai Xiu felt that the clock might have a problem, so he took out his phone in his bag and opened it to see the time. He didn't see the time but noticed that Feng Fei texted him.

Hai Xiu quickly opened it. It was Feng Fei's selfie, behind him was the blue sky and a few clouds. There was also a following text message: "Just got off of the plane, I miss you."

Hai Xiu clutched the mobile phone happily and his face was full of smiles. He also wanted to give a selfie of himself to Feng Fei, but he was too embarra.s.sed to do so. After thinking about it, he took the newly-rolled papers and sent it over: "Look, too many homework. I will arrange it for you and wait for you to come back."

Just as he sent it, his phone suddenly rang. Hai Xiu quickly answered it and squat down to hide himself under the desk. Then he whispered: "h.e.l.lo?"

"Baby." Feng Fei couldn't help but smile after hearing Hai Xiu's voice, "Miss me?"

Hai Xiu nodded hard, after realizing that Feng Fei couldn't see him, he quickly said: "Miss you."

Feng Fei chuckled over the phone: "How much do you miss me?"

There were so many things he wanted to say but couldn't find the right words, Hai Xiu just smiled and changed the topic: "You… are you not afraid of being heard?"

"It's fine, I'm alone now." Feng Fei didn't want Hai Xiu to worry so he said a few words and then: "Is our mother at home?"(T/N: he really used mother here e.e)

Hai Xiu shook his head: "No, it's year-end settlement, they will always be in the company."

"Then go to my house tonight." Feng Fei then warned, "Don't lie to me. Once I come back, I'll call auntie(the cleaning lady) and ask. If she says that you didn't go, how will you see me going back…"

Hai Xiu's heart felt sweet, wanting to see Feng Fei even more. He nodded honestly and said: "I… I'm going, I won't lie to you."

Feng Fei calmed down, his fierce tone immediately turned into a gentle one: "Do you really miss me ah?"

Feng Fei's voice wasn't that loud and pa.s.sed through over the phone, but it was like the way he usually speak love words in Hai Xiu's ears. Hai Xiu really liked to listen to Feng Fei talking like this, his ears were even a little red. His voice was small as he said: "I do, I really do miss you."

"I really miss you, too." Feng Fei said from the other side of the phone, and then: "It's nearly time for the next period."

Hai Xiu whispered "En" and softly said: "They are going back to the cla.s.sroom soon."

"Then hang up first." Feng Fei said, "I will call you back later."

Hai Xiu nodded but was too reluctant to hang up the phone until Feng Fei did it by himself. Since the teacher still hadn't arrived yet, he secretly took out his phone and used Feng Fei's selfie as a screensaver.
