Li Wei nodded again and again: "Yes! Really!" The old lady was so full of enthusiasm at Li Wei's response that she grinned revealing her white teeth. She was very relieved to hear that.

"I was right! Once the marriage happened, this woman was bound to fall for our family's young master even if she seemed to hate him at the start."

Li Wei nodded his head even more vigorously in agreement: "I have been watching the young master and mistress and their relationship really is getting better. The young mistress herself is much better than before. She goes home on time everyday and does not act crazily. I believe that soon, she will become a better qualified wife and mother ah!"

Closing her eyes, the old lady replied: "That would be even much better for us!"

Li Main Mansion

After listening to Wei's report on the blossoming relationship, the old lady was in a good mood. Even after hanging up, she was still smiling. Qiao Manxue, Li Shao's mother, was making a cuc.u.mber mask for the lady right next to her.

After slicing the cuc.u.mbers, she put them on her mother-in-law's eyes and waited a bit. Seeing that Old Lady Li was still happy, she asked curiously: "Mother, what has made you so happy?"

She took off the slices so her mother-in-law could sit up and talk. "I am happy because l have just been told that my baby grandson and his wife seem to be getting on well these days! Just now Manager Wei gave me a call saying that Shao's wife is going back to school to learn and comes back home every day. She is still relying on Xiao Shao to spoil her."

It seems that they are naturally falling in love and blooming like flowers.

Madame Manxue did not believe this. She snorted and waved her hand dismissively: "Mother, do you really believe this? I don't really think you know Tang young mistress' character. Thinking of the rumours that were being whispered outside the manor about her son made Madame Manxue angry and sad. Seriously, that wench Tang Nuanhua is not worthy of her son.

She even had some complaints about her precious son because of her! "I really don't understand Xiao Shao. There were so many good girls to pick from because he was such a good obedient child. Right now, she lives with Xiao Shao so we cannot change anything. As a mother-in-law now, you must learn to be more generous and forgiving. At least, accept her for now, understand?"

She then said: "Wait for two days to pa.s.s and then invite Li Shao back home with his wife for dinner. You mother and wife pair must also cultivate some feelings!"

Although Madame Manxue did not want to, she did not want to disobey the Old Lady's instructions. She nodded in agreement. Her heart, however, was currently planning other things; 'If there is a suitable opportunity, l better pull them apart. After all, l heard that Tang Nuanhua has not changed much and her temper is still as explosive as it used to be.'

Authors note: I could not help but relate a bit to what Madam M was saying. I mean we have all questioned at some point in this novel why Shao shao is still with Nuanhua. Poor lady. As for Old Lady Li, l can tell all she wants is great grand kids so she don't even care who it is that Shao Shao has married as long as she gets her babies. What do y'all think?
