Stretching to a destination

But sometimes, that destination is unknown to anyone

I am also on that train

And am having fun watching

Someone's journey

The train dashed along the rails, heading along the labyrinth of paths to a destination everyone wanted.

On the train, a lone woman sat in a compartment. Her empty eyes gazed at the scenery outside. She had been there for how long, n.o.body knows. She woke up from her daydream when the ticket staff spoke to her.

"Please let me check your ticket."

The man had a dependable demeanor and friendly smile.

"By the way… where are you getting off?"

The woman thought hard about his question.

"I am not yet sure where I am heading."

"That is alright. Take your time selecting, because everyone's final destination is 'the same'." The staff smiled without a hint of frustration.

His name was "Ariya".

He was a staff who waited to send everyone off to their destinations.

Destination…? The woman thought.

She got up from her seat and asked other pa.s.sengers in the train about what kind of place their destinations were.

"It is a vivacious place, filled with luxuries and convenience."

"It is a dark place, filled with sadness and suspicion."

"It is a place full of scholars and famous people."

"It is a place full of the tired, the sick, and the weak."

A variety of answers followed, none of them specific.

It was the last pa.s.senger's turn. He was a man who sat across her. He had a pair of apathetic eyes and a scornful smile, different from everyone else.

"Where are you heading?"

The woman asked, and got a strange answer.

"Oh, I have no thoughts of getting off this train."

The man's name was 'Vakin', a traveller who watched those on this train.

"Enjoying your trip?"

Vakin, the strange pa.s.senger, asked.

The woman smiled dryly as an answer, and looked at the ever-changing scenery outside. She did not have the courage to say that there were multiple of times she wished to get off.

But when she moved to the doors… People ridiculed her.

"What a fool. There's nothing there!"

"She'll come back. She will never survive out there."

"The station we're getting off is a h.e.l.l lot better!"

Noises of agreement echoed across the whole train, accompanied by mocking laughs directed at those few who got off. It happened station after station…

Until at last…

The woman decided to get off at a station where most people were getting off.

Before she went, Vakin asked her one final question.

"Are you really getting off here?"

The woman hesitated but nodded.

"Yes, this is the path I've chosen…"

Then, she followed the big crowd of pa.s.sengers on the path that people went with various emotions…. The path where she walked with loneliness and despair.

"By the way, have you chosen your destination?"

Ariya asked Vakin.

"Nope. Watching those travelers is fun."

Vakin replied.

"People struggle to move on the path they chose, but how would they know that their path is not something someone else decided for them?"

"Don't worry. No matter which path they walk, their final destinations are all the same."

Ariya spoke calmly.

"However, her final destination is a hopeless and ravished death."

The two men watched as the woman was swallowed by the crowd.

The train dashed along the rails, heading along the labyrinth of paths to a destination…that 'somebody'…wanted.
