Chapter 29: Gambling My Life To Fight

Zhang Yang takes the chance while the Level 7 was stunned from the shock, readying loads of Zombie Repression Talismans.

As he crept closer to tag the Level 7, the weaker zombie was forgotten, but not anymore as the weaker zombie decided to charge Zhang Yang.

The knife-like finger was aimed for Zhang Yang's heart, aiming to eradicate the back muscle and carve out the heart.

A zombie's favorite way of hunting was to pull the heart out of the victim and watch as they slowly slide to the pits of h.e.l.l, eating their heart with the littlest amount of consciousness they have.

This attack is something that Zhang Yang must avoid, he should not take it directly. Zhang Yang decides with the little time he has, he flicked the tag onto the Level 6 rather than the Level 7.

The power of the Zombie Repression Talisman was to pressure the zombie's soul into transferring, trapped inside the tag. But this Level 2 Repression Talisman could only do so much, it would take the Level 6 a few seconds until the seal is broken.

The minute Zhang Yang released his onslaught of talismans onto the Level 7, w.a.n.g Yao was shocked in the midst of it, his connection told him about the current state the Level 7 was in. w.a.n.g Yao swiftly threw out some hand signs, biting the tip of his tongue and sending blood essence to his puppet, making his body especially weak and feeble.

Zhang Yang was all the well prepared to slay the Level 7 first. When he was about to attack the undead figure, the zombie suddenly started to move again, flexing his masculine body again from the earlier paralyzed state. The Level 7 awakes from his meek slumber, grasping the arm of Zhang Yang tightly, then tossing him like a sack to the deeper part of the cave.

The Level 7 didn't even give Zhang Yang a second's time to rise, he pounced onto him again. His sharps fingers positioned to tear the meat off Zhang Yang's chest. The smaller zombie twirls, dodging the bigger zombie by a small margin, his body behind the Level 7. The Level 7 ultimately managed to graze a piece of meat off Zhang Yang, the distance between the two wasn't enough to prevent Zhang Yang from getting touched. While Zhang Yang faces this ridiculously powerful zombie, his talismans and traps didn't give much aid, the Level 7 was ready to punch Zhang Yang out to the entrance. Despite his talismans not working, Zhang Yang pulls another Flame Talisman.

"Pu–"

A flame starts to grow, but not at the opponent, instead, it flared on the soil under the hulk zombie's foot. He managed to buy time by disturbing the zombie with the flame, slowly adding more with even more talismans.

"Hehe" Zhang Yang lets out a lighthearted laugh, he figured out a plan.

w.a.n.g Yao finally took a breath, glad that his zombie was starting to win. But suddenly, the fire element blew out in the cave, creating a line of smoke in the air. A zombie then comes from the raging fire, his body bruised with many cuts, a big diagonal slash was publically visible from an angle, roaring that contained pain and hunger blasted from the vocal chords of the zombie.

w.a.n.g Yao became very confused, he was controlling his zombie in a fight, but he cannot actually see the fight scene.  He supposed his puppet was quarreling with another human, but he did not expect to see such an unknown zombie come out. Was there also a corpse cultivator inside?

This zombie was Zhang Yang, he suffered an abdominal injury earlier from the Level 7, he knew the fire wouldn't contain the Level 7 for long, so he initiated his plan to take down the corpse cultivator controlling it. Rushing towards w.a.n.g Yao after sensing their connection with his spiritual sense, basically, a red string tied with the zombie that was formed from blood essence was ethereal, but with the spiritual sense, it could be seen.

Zhang Yang, in the midst of running, blew away and killed the flying minion in one move. Then, he returned to his chase for w.a.n.g Yao, ramming every obstacle in the way to catch to him.

w.a.n.g Yao's face pales in the next second, he threw a talisman in a panicked matter, letting the wind accelerate his paper tag's speed, the faster it's exposed to the zombie, the better.

What he threw was a Level 4 Zombie Repression Talisman, right now, the strongest talisman that Zhang Yang has faced thus far.

But Zhang Yang still plowed and broke the air fearlessly, he knew of the power that this Level 4 Talisman exerted, but if he doesn't take down this cultivator right now, it may cost his life to the Level 7 Zombie.

Anyways, it was already too late for Zhang Yang to react. But he is still confident as he is still hanging onto a trump card. He has still yet to unlock all the secrets of the book.

When Zhang Yang was just about to catch w.a.n.g Yao, the talisman appeared in his view, striking him and driving his soul to depression.

The pressure from the talisman brought Zhang Yang down instantly, he just stood there, with nothing but white where his pupils belonged. Standing there, broken by the talisman.

In this key time, the didn’t let him down, it appeared as a light flashed his mind, bringing him back from a darkness.

The cold, shiver-inducing feeling wakes Zhang Yang up from the deep slumber that the talisman placed on him.

All these things take a while to comprehend, but the action was instantaneous.

w.a.n.g Yao's tightened forehead was no longer, his Zombie Repression Talisman has done its job, after confirming that Zhang Yang was actually affected, he would open the lid to his coffin, ready to capture the interesting Jiangshi.

But to his shock, the zombie's eyelids would start to quiver, then two orbs would be perfectly opened. Just as he was about to be captured, the zombie poked a hole through w.a.n.g Yao's chest, his robes smothered even darker from the blood stain.
