Chapter 195 - "Shu Yan is my friend and that will not change." (3)
“I don’t mean for you to not be friends with her, I just feel that this Shu Yan is somewhat strange. A woman who was raised in a family that only cared about boys and being docile and a pushover all these years in her husband’s family, what had prompted her to have such a drastic change all of a sudden? Then there is the creativity in this . Hu Ruiyang tapped the back of the chair with his index finger. “I am not saying that it’s bad; just that you should keep that in mind when working with her is all.”
“Change? A woman’s change was definitely caused by catastrophic event in her family. Shu Yan’s ex-husband was having an affair, and he even wanted to dump her and her children for that other woman. The change you see in Shu Yan is only normal. Besides, she never asked about anything that has to do with the company. Big Brother, all I can say is that you are wrong this time.” Hu Ruixue had spent some time with Shu Yan and could tell that she wasn’t the petty type. She loved money, yes, but she was open and honest about it. She refused to take what did not rightfully belong to her.
“I didn’t say she’s not nice, I just mean… never mind. What are you planning to give Grandma for her birthday?” What to give their grandmother on her birthday had always been a source of headaches.
“I’ve already prepared my gift.” Hu Ruixue casted him a look. “Don’t bother asking. I am not going to tell you.”
Hu Ruiyang chuckled. “Okay, I get it. I am taking off then.” When he reached the door, he added, “My suspicion notwithstanding, I am impressed by Shu Yan’s competency in business.”
Shu Yan had no idea that she had attracted attention to herself. She went to the shop first to do the books before she went home to get ready. She needed to head to City Han again for more merchandizes.
City Han had a sizeable clothing market and there were also markets for children clothing and shoes nearby. Shu Yan had bought her two kids a few sets of change of clothes when they have first arrived at City Nan. Then she bought them a few sets of fall clothing in a shop around Fujian Street. They were a bit on the expensive side. That’s when she recalled there are wholesale children clothes around the clothing market. The weather was getting colder by the day and she should start preparing for winter clothes.
Wu Xiuyue and Lin Hui’s children were same age as JingJing and they have helped her a lot, especially Wu Xiuyue. She had always been dropping off and picking up her children for her whenever Shu Yan was tied up. It was only right if she repaid her for her favors. She picked a couple sets of outfits for Zhang Chenghan and a set for Lin Hui’s daughter.
On her way back the next day, Shu Yan was very surprised to see Feng Zeyu in the car. “I don’t think I saw you… last night?”
“I came day before yesterday to take care of some matters. You are here for merchandizing?” Feng Zeyu wasn’t an articulate person and that was all he could come up with after thinking about it for a while.
“Yeah,” Shu Yan smiled. It took Shu Yan a few days to readjust after Feng Zeyu had left. She had wanted to thank him but hadn’t seen him since.
“I have been busy lately and haven’t been back to City Nan. I still have your lunch box. I will have someone drop it off when I get a chance,” said Feng Zeyu.
“It’s alright. Just a lunch box.” Shu Yan gave Feng Zeyu a look. “Are all your businesses taken care off now?”
“More or less.”
