Queen Kohra 14 14

Jayar is a beast. I mean it in every sense of the world. He was a vile creature, always pounding at me and beating me up every chance he got. I could even see he was enjoying it.

Three months have pa.s.sed and everyday feels like I'm being grinded into fine paste, remoulded and ground again. It is as painful as it sounds. It aches in places I never thought it would.

Except from morning court, I don't see the Queen or her royal advisor again. They both seem to ignore my existence while it seemed like Jayar was intent on erasing my existence. I'm all alone with the slave driver as my only company. It was torture.

"Prince Consort Lesker" I hear from afar as I'm lying spread eagle on the floor of the practice room. It's an enunch. The queen mother's enunch.

"Yes? How may I help you?" I ask, picking myself off the floor. Jayar left me a while ago to do something more important than watch me laze on the floor.

"The Queen mother seeks your presence in the garden" he says. I nod and ask him to lead the way. The disdain in his eyes become more apparent when he sees I'm planning to go like that.

"You want to meet her highness like that?" He asks skeptically, gesturing at my roughed up appearance. I was pretty stinky too since I just finished training.

"Well, will you tell her I want to freshen up so as to not disgust her esteemed presence?"

"I will relay your message"

"Good. Now scamper off to your master" I say, shooing him off with my hands. He gives me a hateful look and goes away. I really felt like punching his face in.

Almost all the enunchs in the palace hated me. No other reason than I'm not of n.o.ble blood and I have no magix. If I were an ordinary consort, they would have abused me endlessly. But I'm the Queen's consort, they can't touch me so they resort to verbal sparring and indirect mockery.

I didn't like them too. They were a bunch of kiss a.s.ses. They sucked up to every royal and caused a lot of chaos in the palace. I couldn't do anything to them though. They all had magix, making them all more powerful than me.

I ignore the rude enunch and go to my room to freshen up. I put on a simple outfit and go to the garden to meet the Queen mother. She really wasn't a bad person but I could see where Kohra got her cold persona from. The queen mother was just a bit nicer.

"Your highness" I greet with a bow.

"Prince Consort Lesker, have a seat" she says in that soft voice of hers. It was like she had the power to control people with her voice. I take the seat beside her under the shade.

"I have something important to discuss with you"

"I'm all ears your highness"

"It's about Queen Kohra. The council have given her a deadline to concieve and I know you two haven't had s.e.x yet. You see, Kohra's very stubborn and she basically does want she wants. As her mother, I have to do what's best for her. So I want you to help me"

"Your highness, I'm just a simple scholar. You know the Queen more than me. I don't think I know how to convince her to do what she doesn't want to do" I reply shyly. The Queen mother sighes and looks off to the distance.

"I used to be like her once. Impulsive, strong willed and so full of hatred for men. I didn't become queen so I left the palace to find my place in the world. The outside world was not the best place for a naive sheltered princess like I was. I was broken, used and thrust aside. I returned home, sad.

So, I taught my daughter to hate men like I did. It was the only way I could protect her from what I went through since she was so intent on going to the outside world. I didn't know she was going to become queen.

Now that she's queen, she's obligated to provide heirs. She wouldn't be willing to sleep with a man after all I've taught her.

So, I want you to make her fall in love with you"

"Pardon?"

"It was the only way I learnt to let go of my hatred. I had to fall in love. My husband made sure I fell in love with him despite all I did to him. So, make her fall in love with you"

"Your highness, what if I'm unable to?"

"Then you would watch Ataliya burn to the ground. Innocent lives would be lost. You see how important this is"

"Yes your majesty" I say, unsure of what I've gotten myself into.
