The Ghost Dungeon Master 28 The Goblin Attack Begins

"My lord, the siege weapons have arrived." the goblin knight walked into the goblin lord's tent and reported to the goblin lord.

"Get the engineers to rest, we will commerce the attack tomorrow morning." the goblin lord replied, "Oh, and call the mage leader over and gather the rest of the leaders as well."

"Yes, My lord." the goblin knight bowed and left the tent.

~~~ A few minutes later ~~~

"You called, my lord?" the head of the goblin mage came into the tent.

"Did master reply?" the goblin lord asked the mage.

"Yes, he has approved of your plan, of attacking the dungeon, though he will not accept any failures. Another army will take care of attacking the town."As the head of the goblin mage replied the goblin lord, the rest of the goblin knights had arrived.

"My lord, what do you need?" as all of the goblin knight bow and greeted the goblin lord.

"This is the layout of current first floor of the dungeon, one of the hobgoblin that had escaped drew it. You guys come and take a look." As the goblin lord rolls out a map on the table.

The goblin leaders gathered around the table and begin looking at the map, one of them started by saying, "This is a rather small fort, we could send in some sacrifice to make that iron gate drop down before we send in the siege weapons. What we do not know is what lies after that."

"No, if we just sacrifice them we might not have enough people left to clear the entire dungeon. They have a wraith lord in their forces, there are gargoyles, skeleton archers and skeleton mages as well, if we send them in they will all die before even dealing much damage to the opponent side." the goblin lord spoke out.

"I will head in with the first group with engineers equipped with harpoons to take down the gargoyles, the head of goblin mages will be the second in command once I enter the fort, You guys will use the siege weapons to take down the iron gates while I handle the inside of the fort, make sure that the mages are protected as well." The goblin lord begin explaining it's plan.

"Yes my lord, we will go according to your plan, please also take the remaining wolf cavalry who wants to take revenge for their platoon." as the goblin knight gave a suggestion.

"Alright, I will bring them along with me. This will be the current plan, go take a rest we will gather in the morning. We have a dungeon to capture." the goblin lord replied.

"Yes my lord." All of them bowed and left the tent.

~~~ Early next morning ~~~

"My lord, the army is gathered are ready to attack." the goblin knight came into the goblin lord's tent to informed it.

"Alright, let's start begin the capturing of this dungeon." The goblin lord stood up and walked out of his tent. It's wolf stood in front of the tent as if awaiting for its arrival, as the goblin lord mounted onto the wolf, the wolf howls which echoed throughout the area and it begin to move towards the front of the army.

Without much words, the goblin army marches into the dungeon. Going according to the goblin lord's plan, the few goblin engineers that had the harpoons attached with ropes rode together with the wolf cavalry and they rushed head in towards the portcullis of the fort.

Without delaying the entire shock trooper team manages to cross the two iron gates before they were locked in between the fort.

Although the first step had been successful, to their surprise when the siege weapons begin to enter the dungeon, the first battering ram was destroyed by the sudden opening of a trap at the entrance some of the goblin engineers had also lost their lives in the process as they were pushing the ram forward.

"Mage what should we do, we lost the first battering ram and the backup 2 are stuck behind the trap." one of the goblin knight that is on the other side called out to it.

"Get the engineers to create a bridge by using those ladders that we were supposed to use during the attack of the town." without any hesitation the head of the goblin mage immediately commanded the goblin knight on what to do.

However, just as they were about to place the bridge over the trap, a spell circle appeared above their head.

Noticing that a huge spell circle appearing, the head goblin mage immediately roared out."Mages cast your barrier spells."

Chanting in a distance could be heard as a blue thin film appeared, not long after a fire storm cloud appeared and begin raining embers, however, the blue thin film blocked out all the flaming embers that fell from the sky.

"Boss, the fire storm isn't working, they got a barrier." Tempest looks towards the ghost and said.

"Hmmm, burn their camp instead, once you are done. Stay here and monitor, if that group of mages get into the range of one of the wisp, cast a spell again and detonate the wisp to prevent them from casting those blue shields. I head in and try to prevent that goblin group from entering second floor." The ghost replied Tempest, as he teleported to the first level hallway where the wraith knight is currently on standby.

"Engineers, Fire your harpoons, get at least 2 of these pesky gargoyles to the ground." The goblin lord shouted out it's commands.

After a few seconds of hearing the goblin lord's command, one of the gargoyle was being dragged down to the floor, one of the goblin engineer managed to hit it's target. Once the gargoyle was on the ground it immediately launched an anch.o.r.ed to the ground causing the gargoyle to be grounded due to short length of the rope.

The gargoyle begin struggling and flapping it's wings frantically trying to escaped it's binding. The next moment, the doors leading to the hallway opened and two row of skeletons fully equipped with spears and armors marched out. They immediately marched towards the gargoyle.

Seeing that, the goblin lord commanded, "Engineers get off the wolves and concentrate on the gargoyles, cavalries go redivert the skeletons away from the engineers."

After commanding the shock troopers, the goblin lord rushed towards the fallen gargoyle and begin attacking it. While it was attacking the gargoyle, a small transparent bird flew over and whispered into it's ears, before it disappeared, "My lord, it will take awhile more before the siege weapons will arrive, they had traps that caused the first one to get destroyed."

"Neigh"

The wraith knight came out from within the hallways, dashing straight towards the goblin lord while knocking back some of the goblin cavalries along the way. The goblin cavalries that were knocked back didn't take much damage as they managed to dodge the main head on charge. While those that weren't knocked back were engaging the skeleton warriors.

"These skeletons are much tougher than they look." one of the hobgoblin said to it's comrade as they begin circling around them for another attack.

At the same time, the wraith knight smashed head on into the goblin lord. To the ghost surprise, he was halted in his step by the goblin lord.

"Hmmp, that hurts a little." The goblin lord sarcastically remarks, as it was currently holding a shield up and had a white gleaming light surrounding it's shield.

The goblin knight took out it's sword, got off it's wolf while staring at the wraith knight and shouted, "Dare to fight me one on one?"

"Alright." As the wraith knight chuckles in reply, he dismounted from his skeleton horse he drew his sword with his left hand while summoning a bone spear and grabbing with his right hand.

Without waiting the wraith knight dashes forward towards the goblin lord with a piercing stab with his bone spear. The goblin lord immediately uses it's shield on the left to blocked the incoming spear thrust, successfully redirecting the attack.

However the next strike came instant with a swing on the right side on the goblin lord, which it barely blocked the strike with his sword.

"You're good!" the goblin lord whispered behind his shield, before it took and step forward and use it's shield bash ability causing the wraith knight to be knocked backwards resulting a distance between them.

The wraith knight immediately jumped to close the distance as he raised his spear above his head and send the spear smashing down along with his entire weight at the goblin lord. Sending the danger after the shield bash, the goblin lord raised it's shield to block the attack.

"Bang" though spear attack was blocked, small cracks form on the floor beneath the goblin lord's feet. Without waiting for the goblin lord to recover, the wraith knight swing his spear and sweeping it from his left to his right.

"TINK"

The goblin lord barely managed to redirect the spear swipe as it was knocked over to the side, as it's hands begin trembling from the constant attacks of the wraith knight.

"THUNG....THUNG....THUNG"

The sound of something hard constantly slamming against the iron gate begin sounding off. Realizing the siege weapon is banging on the iron gates, the wraith knight begin commanding the skeleton archers and skeleton mage to attack them from the arrow slits.

On the other side of the main hall, two of the gargoyles had been taken down, while most of the goblin cavalry's wolves had been killed by the skeleton warriors from the reckless charging they did against the bone spears. The remaining hobgoblin and goblins were struggling against the skeleton warriors as they couldn't seem to deal much damage to some of the skeletons warriors that were wearing the dark iron armor.

After recovering from the attacks, as the goblin lord stood up he spotted the wraith knight was busy commanding the other skeletons, taking the chance it jumped onto it's wolf and rushed towards the skeleton warriors instead. As the goblin lord reach the group, it jumped off it's wolf and strike down on one of the skeleton warriors, the skeleton warrior it strike at was destroyed by it's attack instantly. It was shocked that the skeleton warrior was easily taken down, as it had thought that the darker armor was weaker than the shinier one.

"What the?" though the goblin lord was still in shocked, it immediately commanded it's subordinates, "Take down the shiny armored skeleton warriors first."

After receiving it's command, the goblins surrounded the remaining two iron armor skeleton warriors and begin attacking from all sides.

On the outside of the fort, one of the siege weapon was ramming the iron gate while the other is on standby. All of a sudden magic and arrows begin raining down on them. As the head of goblin mage was afraid that their way out would be sealed if they needed to retreat, the mage platoon had not advance together with with the siege weapon.

"Archers fire at the slits, pikemen shields up protect the engineers," commanded the goblin knight that is currently in charged of the sieging.

"Arghhh"

"Ahhhh"

Groaning and cries could be heard coming from the archer platoon, as they did not have the protection from pikemen.

Back in the main hall of the fort, the wraith knight notices that the goblin lord had gone missing. Looking around he couldn't find it in the vicinity, only the goblins that were attacking the skeleton warriors. The wraith knight immediately mounted onto his horse and charge towards the group.
