"What did Lucio tell you that day?" I ask Chloe.
She seems surprised by the question.
"Well, it's still a secret." Even though she answered, she seemed quite uncomfortable. "I'll tell you someday, if that's possible."
"Have you decided where you're going when you get to the other continent?" Wallace asks.
I did not think so much, Lucio taught me about various cities, all of which have their advantages, but none were perfect for me. For now, what I want is to try and hunt down some monsters and animals, so...
"I think at the moment I'm just thinking of registering for a guild, starting to do some missions," I answer it.
"That's a good idea." Moura speaks. "Thanks to Ruby now we vampires can be adventurous, but you'll still suffer a lot of prejudice, so be careful."
"Because of the war?
It makes sense, the two races had several decades of battle before the recent peace. Maybe the humans still have a big grudge.
"For the most part, but there's also another factor. In this time of peace the greatest cause is other races like us." Moura explains. "Just like the Kathakans, like I hate those idiots."
That's a race that makes me intrigued. I've heard of them by Chloe and Lucio, if I'm not mistaken the biggest difference is the acid and the strength.
"Are they that badly regarded?" I'll ask her.
"They spit acid and they stink! They look a lot more like ghouls than anything else." Moura esbraveja.
She seems to have stories with Kathakanos.
"They look like humans, just like us. They could mix easily, but they're too barbaric for that." Chloe says.
"I see."
The two girls laughed, it seems to be something common among vampires not to like this breed.
We talked for a while longer, spend some time just talking nonsense to your friends. I don't remember anything good like this in my old world, maybe just...
A vampire comes from the cabin after a while, he tells me the cabin was ready. It was my time to leave. The three of you follow me to the pier to say goodbye.
"Again." I'll stand in front of them and start talking. "Excuse me for leaving like this."
"Lucio told me about your complicated situation." Chloe, talk. "We also know what's coming, that's the best choice for you."
"I understand, I'm glad to hear that." I answer it.
I turn to the other two.
"I hear you've been warned by the queen herself," says Wallace.
"It must have been something really serious, we get it," Moura says.
Usually they act like idiots, but the truth is that they are quite noticeable when it comes to Chloe, I thought it was for his pa.s.sion, but they are also demonstrating it with me. It makes me happy, I feel accepted with these people.
"Thank you so much for everything, I can never thank you enough." In an action I don't usually hug.
They're surprised at first, but then they return the hug.
I'll get on the boat. There were two oars and nothing else. Can I really cross a sea with just that? Considering I'm probably a vampire. I put my backpack in.
"You know what's coming, right?" I ask them.
"Yes, we know well..." Chloe seems a little serious.
"What do you intend to do?" I ask.
"Before you came, I had given up the army." Chloe says lower head. "He was treated differently because he was second generation. However, I changed in that time. I've found that's my place, I want to defend it with my team-mates."
I remember when we first met, she told me she was a non-combatant back then. It was a big surprise when we fought after that.
"I hope you're safe," I say.
"I'll give it my all, don't worry about it." Chloe, come in.
I turn to the other two. Unlike Chloe, they're not soldiers, but they're still strong, after all, they're hunters. If the soldiers are strong thanks to training they make up for that with levels.
"You two..." I'm starting to talk, but they interrupt me.
"We'll stand by Choe, that's obvious, isn't it?" The two speak at the same time, but different from always do not fight then, just smile together.
"It's your face, be careful," I say by releasing a rope that holds the boat to the pier.
I take the cape from the backpack, although I have complete resistance to the sun the others do not know it. I put it on. So I remember the cla.s.ses I took with Lucio. According to them all vampires could get one of these, it's an expensive item, but after Ruby took over it ensured that everyone could get one. Money was taken out of his own pocket, at first I thought it was kingdom money, but he explained to me that it had also ama.s.sed great personal wealth.
Ruby was someone amazing. Thanks to Lucio's cla.s.ses, I learned a lot of things, that reminds me...
"If you need to go to the human continent, try to go to Tot," I say.
"Why Tot?" Chloe speaks loudly.
She seemed pretty excited when I said "Tot," maybe there's something about this town.
"It is in the center of the continent, almost on the border with the Empire. Lucio told me that it would be a good place to stay, less human prejudice, to be able to work in both nations. Maybe it's a good idea," I answer.

"I see, that's why." She seemed disappointed in a way.
I hope she'll say something, maybe explain why she stayed that way, but she doesn't say anything. I don't mean to force the question or anything like that. I'll sit down and get the oars.
"I hope we can see each other someday." I speak by saying goodbye.
"Don't worry, somehow I feel it's going to happen." Chloe answers, she looks a little better.
I remember Chloe told me, she usually feels when something is going to happen, it may just be kicks, but they say she gets it right most of the time, so I'll take that as proof that I found them.
"Use the techniques we teach you well." Wallace screams.
Although I was the teacher in that relationship.
"Try not to die!" Moura screams goodbye.
What kind of person says goodbye to the person like that? It's almost like raising a death flag.
"I'm gonna miss them." I talk with a sigh.
Even though they have that way.
After a few minutes of rowing the coast was no longer visible. I'm on the high seas with a small boat. I think it's weird what I'm doing now, but I'm not in my old world. This is a fantasy world, there are demons and dragons, I'm a vampire myself. This is no big deal, I remember Lucio saying that two out of every three vampires who try this route get to the other side. I just need to hope it's not that third one.
The sun had not yet appeared, I'm still on the demonic continent, but that doesn't mean much, I can't tell if it's not already dark. I'll probably feel something when I leave the continent that I have a strong connection with.
Thinking about it I notice something, a little far from me I can see another little boat. He was coming towards me. For vampires it is not so absurd to cross this sea with a boat of this size, but for humans it must be impossible, at least for most. Maybe it's a vampire coming back?
Focus on my audition. I can hear some groans of pain coming from the boat, the heart of the one who was there beat very fast, is a human and he is wounded.
"Hey, is anybody there?" I scream.
There's no answer. I take the oars and begin to go with all my strength towards them, on the way I try to shout a few more times, but I have no answers.
Maybe the apprehension didn't focus on the smell, but when I get closer it's impossible. A sweet smell, like the smell of delicious food, would give me a little water in my mouth, but I know where it comes from. It's blood.
"Who... who?" I hear a girl's weak voice.
By its tone it seemed to be quite young, what is a child doing in a place like this?
"I am not an enemy!" I speak loudly so you can hear me. "I'm getting closer."
I try to show that I'm not hostile to her, and I get close quickly. When I get close to the boat, I can finally see her. A girl lying in the boat, she didn't look more than nine years old. Her hair was dark brown, but what caught my attention was how thin she was. He also had several cuts on his body, although they were not new, I could still smell the blood.
So I finally noticed something, several black tattoos were on the right side of his body. They came down from your neck to your feet. Just like Ruby.
"She has great demonic power." I speak in amazement.
When I saw Ruby's tattoos, I asked Lucio what they meant. That was demonic power. When more people acquire power, more of these tattoos appear. They are different from person to person, but they clearly are. I can feel the enormous power emanating from her. How come I didn't feel that before?
"I... I'm not a monster." She says it in a crying voice.
Your eyes were closed, probably not with me. She seems to be delusional. I finally understood what those tattoos meant.
"You're sick." I speak by watching her.
How could I have been so dumb? Humans must not have demonic power.
"I think I've been involved in something problematic.
