Spiritual Seed Awakening 10 Chapter 10: First Battle

I wait for the perfect moment to strike as the corpse worm healing to pierce the ceiling of the burrow. The corpse flesh slowly moves creeps back into place like mold. I don't have much time, but I also know my worm body will only have one chance, or else it will be eaten by the corpse snake.

I noticed that this healing is slowly draining the corpse of its mana. I wait a little while longer, and strike just as the snake is mostly healed, but the core is exposed still vulnerable. I use my mouth to pierce the core like a magic crystal, and latch on to it.

The corpse snake begins to spasm in an effort to shake me off. I begin to drain its manna like a parasite. It doing its best to throw me off, the creature does not seem all that smart. It had takes a few seconds to try biting me. This was enough time for me to absorb a great deal of manna from corpse snake. The core loses a great deal of l.u.s.ter.

I then begin my second a.s.sault as it begin to prepare to attack me directly. I use my soul to foam threads, and attempt pull it's soul fragment into my body. This caused the snake the spams even harder, and lost control of its body temporary as I attempt to devour it's fragment. I succeed taking it's soul fragment, and continue to be on guard while continuing to drain it's energry.

I thought the snake would stop moving like the corpse worms I ate. The snake now mindlessly begins to bash it's body again the walls trying yo kill me with no care for it's own well being. The exposed core of the snake smashes against the burrow without care for the damage it caused to itself ,or burrow. This causes a minor collapse of the entrance, but not enough to harm me. I dismount it's body after I no longer feel confident is d.o.g.g.i.ng the wall, and watch as it smashes it's head against the wall one last time before it stops moving.

I have won my first battle I think. The snake does not move . I scan it with my soul just to be certain. The snake is super dead. The snake has taught me alot. It's memories are a jumble, but I know it has fought a rat with a core, and lost. I also found out that it had died long ago, and only formed a core after death by absorbing the toxic fumes into its body.

There also was a is some snake corpse poison left in its body. It was restoring this when I killed it along with its body. I crawls over to the remains of it's head and find the corpse snake poison gland. Something tells me this is a good meal, I start eat this glad. I store the poison into the my body. After the small poison gland is finished off, I head back to the core of the snake corpse. It's drained of mana, and soul fragment, but it's body is still full of death energy. I try, and remember the method the white snake was using, and copy it.

I slither over to its body, and bite down on its corpse flesh. The method seems to work as the death energy, and corpse blood are drained from the snake corpse body. The corpse blood is a poison on its own. The mix of this and the poison from its body is more than enough for my body.

I feel like too much energy is my body as I begin to sleep again. It's dangerous, but I can't stay awake any longer I feel like. I sleep as I suddenly feel my body begin to be wrapped in a bundle of energy. My main body as well suffers from this over exhaustion of my soul. I stay awake long as possible fighting to suppress this overloading in my second body I focus my mind to copy the snakes cultivation method. It seems to work well with my corpse wine worm body strengthening method.

I can't feel pain, but I can tell this would kill me if I didn't practice these two methods on instinct. What normal corpse worm would have the intelligence to do this, and the soul power. After calming these down the coating energies in my second body. I sleep again.
