Boruto - Naruto Generations Chapter 2: Figuring Things Out Part 1

"Naruto!"

"Oy, Naruto!"

("Huh") Boruto squinted his eyes tightly.

(Bang!)

"WHAT THE h.e.l.l, Shino-sensei…?" Boruto woke up from a flying book only to see a strange teacher staring at him.

"That's Iruksensei to you Naruto," Iruka stared at Naruto, seemingly ignoring the last part of what Boruto said.

("Wait just a minute,")

("That's Iruksensei?") Boruto stared at Iruka with a shocked expression.

However, it seemed that Boruto missed out on a bigger problem.

"Naruto,"

"Please don't slack off again," Iruka said, following which he walked towards the green board.

("Did he just call me by my dad's name?") Boruto looked at his dress only to see himself wearing his dad's ratty old orange jumpsuit which happened to be in a brand new condition.

As Boruto continued to examine his body, he felt something substantial on his head.

("What's this?") Boruto thought as he removed a pair of green goggles from his forehead.

"EHHHH?????" Boruto stood up.

"What is it now?" Iruka turned back to see Naruto standing up.

Boruto stared at his reflection on the goggles,

Despite being unable to see an entire image of himself, the fact that he saw a reflection of his dad's old face more than made it clear.

"I am my dad…" Boruto murmured in shock.

"Hahahaha" The entire cla.s.sroom began to laugh after hearing Boruto's words.

"I am my dad he says,"

"How lame can you get?" Kiba asked as he started to laugh till his stomach ached.

(Bang!)

Iruka banged the table to get the cla.s.s's attention.

"Quiet down, all of you,"

"Naruto,"

"I'll see you after homeroom," Iruka said.

"Ha…" Boruto sat down as he gave up on trying to interact with this sudden world he had been transported to.

("What just happened…?") Boruto thought black to the time before he got caught up in the fortuneteller's teleportation portal.

"In order to understand your father, you must live through what he lived…"

("It looks like I have taken my dad's place in his past,") Boruto calmed himself down.

He then looked around the room.

("Iruksensei has become young,")

("This room seems to be the old version of the ninja academy,")

("Too old in fact,") Boruto thought as he observed his surroundings.

His eyes started to observe the people in the room.

His eyes first caught sight off…

("Mom…") Boruto looked at Hinata who seemed to be silently observing him.

"Um," Hinata didn't expect to suddenly be seen by Naruto, to which she turned away immediately.

("Wow…")

("Dad wasn't kidding when he said that mom was the shy type,") Boruto thought back to the Hinata he had seen from the moment he was born.

She was the steadfast, loyal type who was soft-spoken to outsiders but did not hold back when it came to dealing with Naruto, Himawari, or himself if they made any mistakes.

Boruto then looked around.

("Uncle Sasuke,") Boruto looked at Sasuke who didn't seem to be interested in what was going on in the cla.s.s.

("Next up,") Boruto looked towards…

("Sakura Obachan,") Boruto looked at Sakura who was stealing glimpses at Sasuke.

("She does like Uncle Sasuke a lot,") Boruto thought following which he spotted Ino sitting next to Sakura.

Ino was also stealing glimpses at Sasuke, while also cursing the fact that Sakura's big head blocked her way.

Boruto also noticed other girls doing the same.

("Ah,")

("It looks like all the girls like Uncle Sasuke a lot,") Boruto thought.

He then quickly scanned over to identify Shikamaru, Choji, Kiba, and Shino as well.

Obviously, Boruto had a tough time identifying the last two.

Shino had a totally different look to him since he had his top half of the face uncovered while the lower half was covered, which was totally opposite to how he looked now.

As for Kiba, Boruto could instantly recognize him from the photos Naruto had shown him, but he still had a hard time believing that Akamaru was a cute and young dog, compared to the big and saggy one he was used to seeing now.

After doing his preliminary a.n.a.lysis of what was going on, Boruto was still hard pressed for one answer.

("I know, I have to understand how my dad lived, but how long will this go on for…?")

("Is there a time limit, or a certain objective that must be fulfilled?")

("What will happen to the me over there?")

("What will happen to this world?")

("What will happen to my dad of this world?")

Boruto was beyond confused.

Soon homeroom was over, and the students left the room.

Only Iruka and Boruto were left behind.

"Naruto,"

"What happened today?"

"Don't tell me you are not sleeping during the night," Iruka spoke in a concerned tone.

"Of course not Iruksensei,"

"I just happened to be tired today, that's all," Boruto said as he scratched his head.

"Don't let that happen again," Iruka said as he walked towards the door.

"Got it," Boruto nodded.

"Are you leaving or not?" Iruka asked as he stood outside the door.

"Yeah, I'm leaving now sensei," Boruto said as he ran outside the door.

Iruka stared at Boruto's departing back for a bit, following which he walked towards the staff room at the end of the corridor.

Outside the academy, Boruto stared at the academy, which was ten times smaller than the one he was used to seeing.

("Wow…")

("There really was nothing during my dad's time in the academy…") Boruto thought, following which he reached into his pockets.

("A few kunais, scrolls, spikes and…") Boruto explored his pockets following which he got his hands onto a thing.

("What is this?") Boruto thought following which he took out the item he had grasped.

("A frog purse,") Boruto stared at the purse following which he opened it.

("There's barely any money in here…") Boruto thought as he tried to calculate how much he had on his hand.

("200 Ryo!")

("A Hamburger Steak costs as much as 250 Ryo,")

("Where the h.e.l.l will I go for that?") Boruto screamed internally.

Grrrr!!!

Boruto looked down only to hear his stomach rumbling.

"That's just great,"

"Now I have to search for some food…"

In the streets of the Hidden Leaf Village,

Boruto walked around exploring the original village that was built during the First, Second, Third, and Fourth Hokage's time…

Boruto walked around, looking for a good place to dine in.

Soon he got tired of walking since he could not find what he wanted.

"Hey, excuse me," Boruto called out as he walked towards a person.

"Huh?" A man with an irritated look stared at Boruto who was less than half his size.

"What do you want?" The man asked in a p.i.s.sed off tone.

("Heh… there really are strange people during dad's time…") Boruto thought following which he looked at the man.

"Do you know where I can get some hamburgers?" Boruto asked.

"Hamburger?"

"What the h.e.l.l is that?" The man asked.

"You don't know what's a hamburger?" Boruto asked.

"Stop wastin my time pipsqueak," The man said as he turned around.

("That d.a.m.ned demon fox kid should be killed!") The man cursed internally while also showing a look of disdain at Boruto.

("What's up with him…") Boruto thought.

Grrr!!!!

Boruto kneeled down in hunger.

("Argh,")

("I don't think I can make it,") Boruto thought as he looked at the path ahead.

("Looks like this d.a.m.ned village didn't have hamburgers back then…") Boruto sighed.

("I guess, Mom and dad's place must be available…") Boruto thought following which he got up again.

He then spotted a young woman at the entrance of a shop.

"Excuse me, Miss!" Boruto ran towards the girl.

"Yes?" The girl asked in a polite tone.

"Where's Ichiraku Ramen?" Boruto asked.

"Ichiraku Ramen?"

"Yeah," Boruto asked.

"I think it should be in the next street," The young woman said as she pointed out a direction to Boruto.

"Thanks -nechan," Boruto said as he ran away.

A few minutes later…

Boruto slowed down his pace as he already went around the street once.

("There is not a single Big building here,")

("All shops are small ones,") Boruto thought as he continued to walk in search of the shop.

As Boruto continued to search, there was one particular conversation that he picked up on.

"Ayame, please deliver this to the hairdresser in the next street,"

"Yes, Dad," Ayame said, following which she walked out of the shop crossing past Boruto.

("Ayame Obasan…") Boruto stared at the beautiful young Ayame coming out of the shop.

"Oh, if it isn't Naruto-kun," Ayame stopped by.

"Are you here for ramen?" Ayame asked.

Grrr!!!!

Boruto's stomach rumbled.

"Hahahahahaha," Ayame started to laugh, following which she ran into the shop quickly.

"Dad, it's your favorite customer," Ayame said as she brought the worn out Naruto (Boruto).

"Naruto,"

"You're in early for the ramen today," Old Man Teuchi smiled.

"One ramen please," Boruto ordered in a weak voice.

"I take it that you want the normal one since you've been saving up for that Miso-Chashu," Old man Teuchi asked.

"Anything old man, just give me the ramen," Boruto begged.

"Comin right up," Teuchi smiled as he entered the kitchen.

"I'll be leaving then Naruto-kun," Ayame said following which she took the delivery package and left the shop.

About a few minutes later…

"Here's your ramen," Teuchi place a piping hot ramen in front of Boruto.

"finally…" Boruto woke up to the wonderful smell of the ramen.

However, just as he was ready to slurp in.

"HOT, HOT, HOT, Hot, hot," Boruto sprang up after taking a small sip.

"Calm down Naruto,"

"You always wait for it to cool down right," Teuchi said.

"Hoo…" Boruto blew lightly over the ramen.

Since the ramen was already placed in front of him, Boruto felt a bit calmer knowing that his hunger will be fulfilled.

He then looked around the tiny shop that had five seats placed in front of the serving table, of which he currently occupied one of it.

("Dad wasn't kidding when he said the shop became famous only because of him…")

("To think that such a huge shop was this small…") Boruto thought following which he started to consume the ramen slowly.

However, before he could take a second sip of the soup in the ramen bowl.

Boruto started to sweat profusely.

("If I am stuck here in the past,")

("Where's my house?????????????")
