Life Hunter 49 ''Don't Laugh''

Arima was coldly looking at him "Is it true?" He asked about the memories he just received. It's not like he received the memories of Karaskan, he only received the memories of this Seed of Chaos. But the latter had something that Arima couldn't ignore.

The gargoyle started laughing "Come on, you took it from me, you perfectly know that it's true" He grinned, his personality seemed to have taken a change "A Life Hunter that can transform into an undead… I heard something like that from my master once. Apparently, they can also steal affinities from their victims" He said

Arima grabbed the gargoyle's head "I understand. If it's true, I don't care. The thing I'm trying to know here, is where your G.o.d is. But it seems you don't know, so bye" He crushed the head and the rest of the gargoyle's body crumbled. The Seed died without any last word.

"[Vita Venari]" Arima chanted and the life force of the gargoyle exploded and entered in his body. That life force was incredibly dense and Arima was surprised the moment he absorbed it. His whole body started aching and he almost raised his voice.

His aura started rising exponentially, his mana pool was pulled out forcefully and even his killing intent was released. His three auras were now going wild without Arima's control. The world of the soul manifestation became totally shook by the auras.

Outside of that reality, back at the elven city. Night suddenly grunted, his aura, killing intent and mana pool exploded too.

"Master?!" Lanya shouted hurriedly

"That's…" Lilis looked at Night with widened eyes "He's breaking through" She said

"Breaking through?" Lanya was confused

"That means Arima is breaking through the earthen realm right now and his soul beast is doing the same, although Night is at the ninth level, his body will still change to match his partner" She said and rushed to Night's side "I'm not like these too, but I can keep it for around two hours" She mumbled and a complex magic circle encompa.s.sed her and Night.

"What are you doing?" Lanya asked

"If he breaks through here, he'll most likely destroy this place, I'll bring him into another dimension" Lilis answered

"Then what about Karia? Arima is doing the same inside, right?" Lanya looked worriedly at Karia and said

Lilis glanced at the elf "It's should be okay, Arima's soul magic didn't disappear, he should still have a minimum of control. That man can easily do it without hurting her, the soul manifestation he created is almost like a different dimension. Otherwise, that girl would have died when Arima fought with the Seed" She said and activated the circle and disappeared along with Night.

Arima was silently sitting cross legged. He was focused on maintaining this place while checking what was going on with his body.

Strangely, his height came back to being around 1.9 meters but at the same time, his overall physical strength endured a ma.s.sive change. At this point, maybe he could beat a level nine with his physical prowess only.

Also, without him knowing, his facial features were becoming even more refined, his hair grew a bit, and his pupils changed into a bright unnatural silver. And finally, the pattern he had in his pupils became visible, it was light blue in color and looked like a snow star.

His mana pool became bigger by at least a tenth, and his aura became stronger by around five folds. Arima opened his eyes and the light blue star revolved once. He breathed in and the three auras were sucked back in his body.

He stood up and sighed. Until now, his expression was a bit tense since the moment he heard Karaskan's name. But now, it had totally returned to normal.

He smiled like always and raised his palm and a circle of different spheres of colors formed above his palm. When Arima saw the result, he smirked in satisfaction. He then put away those spheres and activated the enchant on his clothes to restore them.

"Well, I thought that I would need more time to breakthrough into this realm" He said while trying his body. He kicked in empty air, but that simple kick created a tide on the water "But that's good too"

In the dimension Lilis created. Night had transformed back into a dragon and roared. This same roar destroyed the place they were in.

Night's body slowly began to change, like Arima, it didn't become bigger but actually shrunk to around 15 meters. What particularly changed with Night's body, were his wings that became more tough looking and his scales that gained a sort of second layer that made look impregnable.

His horns grew longer, his red eyes gained the same pattern as Arima. And finally, although he was a dragon, he grew a gray mane going from the top of his head to the end of his tail. It was fascinating how it looked good on his dragon body.

Lilis looked, impressed at the transformation. When Night finally retracted his three auras, Lilis made a thumb's up "Good, you're cool, you know?" She said

Night glanced at her and groaned. After that, he waved his arm and a huge wave of wind swept everything for around a hundred meters. He looked at his hand and clenched it "That's really enjoyable" He smirked and said

"Your body is at the earthen realm, but the rest of your power is only at the late tenth level thanks to the life force of the Seed" Lilis said "But I'm sure, you will improve really fast. Now, let's go. I'm sure Arima will get out soon. Turn back into your wolf form" She hastened him

Night nodded and he conjured a magic circle, his body glowed at the same time as the latter and his appearance started changing.

Lilis silently looked. But at some point, she widened her eyes. And when Night finished his transformation, she couldn't help but laugh.

Arima was the first to come back to the elven castle. He reappeared from the gate and the latter closed when Arima pa.s.sed through it. Karia almost fell after he came back but he caught her and carried her to a couch to put her down. Although she wasn't injured, she was extremely tired because her soul was opened for so long.

Arima looked around the room and spotted Lanya shyly sitting in the corner of the room. He tilted his head "What are you doing?" He asked

Lanya yelped cutely "N-nothing…"

Arima frowned and then remembered something "Ah…" He exclaimed quietly. He took a chair with him and sat down just in front of Lanya. Like that, they were face to face.

"Hum…" Lanya felt awkward and raised her voice but when she saw Arima was looking at her calmly like always, she stopped. She also remarked the changes in his appearance but she couldn't focus on that for now.

"I'm human too, you know?" Arima started speaking "Anger is just one of the numerous emotions I can feel. I'll never change, I'm still me" He said and patted Lanya before standing up. He then walked towards a certain direction.

Lanya bowed her head. It only lasted a few seconds, it was only three sentences. But that was enough to calm her. She looked up to Arima, he always could be calm, no matter the situation.

People can either hate or admire those who can do what they can't.

Lanya felt that she had not enough control over her emotions when she decided to kill her father alone and it always dragged her down. When she saw Arima lose control, she felt that there wasn't anyone to admire anymore. Then, the same person changed her point of view in just a few sentences. Emotions cannot be eliminated or ignored, just suppressed.

Lanya stood up and breathed out "Thank you" She turned towards Arima, who was already sitting at a table with a lollipop in his mouth, and said.

Arima smiled and nodded. At that moment, s.p.a.ce distorted and Lilis appeared with tears in the corner of her eyes and her mouth curved into a smile. She seemed to have laughed really strongly.

"Where is Night?" Arima asked

Lilis snickered and another distortion appeared beside her. Another figure appeared beside her, black fur, fangs, red eyes and patterns. Yep, it was a wolf. But his size seemed strange.

Arima chuckled and Lanya looked with starry eyes. What appeared was actually a black wolf cub, small and cute.

"Don't laugh" The cub spoke, and it was of course Night's voice, but it was slightly higher than usual.

Lilis smiled "After his breakthrough, when he tried to come back as a wolf, he became like that. He tried several times, but it turned like that each time" She explained "In the end, he decided to come here and ask you"

Arima smiled "I have already an idea as to why it doesn't work like before" And said

Night's small ears straightened up "Seriously?"

Arima nodded "Yeah" He said and Night's expression brightened "But I don't think I will tell you, you're too cute in that form" Arima said in total honesty and Night froze. Lilis almost started laughing again and sat at the table with Arima.

While Night was frozen in place, Lanya profited and grabbed Night from behind, she held him in her arms with a cheerful expression. Night regained his senses at that moment "Hey, release me!" He snapped

"Why not? Let her carry you, you also can go anywhere like this, not like your other form" Arima commented and Night fell silent. Lanya started patting him, his ear twitched but he didn't complain.

"Lilis" Arima suddenly called and Lilis looked back at him "Have you ever heard about Death Hunters?" He asked

"What?" Lilis was shocked by those words.
