Life Hunter 44 ''Thanks For Teaching Me''

The Dryad retrieved her breath and thanked Arima for the heal "You're going to go after that?" She asked before he could leave

"Well, yes" Arima answered nonchalantly

"He's stronger than you" Evergreen instantly retorted "By far"

"Hey, don't say it like that, of course I'm weaker than him" Arima said "And I still need more power to be able to travel that far" He then started walking towards the wall and stopped in front of it. He turned towards Evergreen "…How do I get out?" He asked and the Dryad laughed for the first time.

After that, Arima exited the tree, he bid farewell to Evergreen and also met Rex and Hieran quickly before leaving the forest. He told to the two beasts to reduce the a.s.saults on the monster continent to balance for Koden's disappearance.

Arima teleported back in front of the huge dome of the Spirit realm because he didn't want to fight the eating flowers in case the dome could affect his teleportation and send him in the flower field. He entered the barrier by using the same method that Lanya used. He then directly transferred where he felt Night was.

When Arima arrived, he observed the place and noticed Lilis waving a plate of enticing meat in front of Night.

"Alright, you tell me where is Arima now and I'll give it to you" Lilis said with a smile

Night's eye twitched "I can't…do that" He said

"Mm" Lilis showed a pensive expression then, she smiled "Okay, I'll still give it you, here" She put the plate on the floor and Night's eyes brightened, he approached the plate and started eating while Lilis was petting him with a smile.

"Hey" Arima's voice jolted both Lilis and Night

"Oops" She said and quickly disappeared

Night had his back facing Arima, the former had totally frozen and was sweating. Arima calmly walked towards Night and pat him once "Now, can you tell why the h.e.l.l you were just being tamed right now?" He said

Night trembled and began to dryly laugh "…I don't know what you're talking about" He said and Arima sighed after staring at him for a minute straight.

"Where is Lanya?" He asked after a moment

Night sighed in relief "I don't know, maybe Lilis already went to her though" He said

Arima sat down on a sofa "Did you select some people?" He asked and took out some white chocolate.

Night sat down properly like a wolf "Yeah, I told that prince to gather them in two days at the same place" Night said while eating his meat time to time.

"Who are they? And the strongest?" Arima asked

"Most of them are people who gets money by getting people to fight for them, there's also some of them who love to hunt and torture monsters and beasts, not caring about if they are children or not" Night started listing the people he selected from Drannoc's memories "The strongest is a middle-cla.s.s level nine, there's two other nine levels, seven eight, thirteen seventh and the rest is below that, which is pretty insignificant for us" He said

Arima pondered for a second "With just that, one attack should be enough" He said

Night smiled wryly "I knew you would say that" He responded "Well, that's decided then. By the way, I gave a telepathic link to that prince, he sent me earlier that he will be able to gather all of them but there would also be other people that would come on their own accord by curiosity"

"That's not a problem, I'll do the same as always. I take the correct ones in another dimension and then it's done" Arima casually said

After that, Arima and Night kept chatting for an hour or so before Lanya came back along with Lilis and Vinia.

The latter bowed towards Arima "Thank you, I heard of what the prince is doing now and he even apologized to me before leaving. I'm grateful" She said

"You don't need to thank me. Besides it's Night who did all the work" Arima pointed at Night beside him "You should thank him"

"I already did it" She smiled and said

Arima nodded and stood up. He looked towards Lilis "Come a second, I need to talk with you" He said and left the room.

"Eh?" Lilis watched him leave with widened eyes and Lanya looked curiously. After a few seconds, Lilis hurriedly got out of the room to follow him.

Arima and Lilis entered another room and sat down. Arima started telling her about the giant he saw when he looked around the galaxy.

"Oh, so you saw an Earthen G.o.d" Lilis exclaimed "What do you want to know?" She asked

"I want to ask you what you know about that thing. Also, I wanted to ask if he was the one that sent that asteroid here" Arima said, like usual, while eating sweets.

Lilis smiled "From your description, the one you saw is indeed the one who attacked you that time. His name is Errastas. His personality is a bit… let's say unstable" She said

"…How strong is he compared to me? How many times stronger?" He asked

Lilis chuckled a bit realizing that Arima didn't expect at all to be stronger than Errastas "With your current strength, I'd say he is stronger that you by around twenty folds" She said seriously

"I see" Arima wasn't surprised "If I can improve my undead form and use 'One hundred parade' with Night, I could reduce that number to seventeen folds" He mumbled inaudibly. He raised his head and looked at Lilis "What about you, compared to me, how many?" He asked

At that question, Lilis began to laugh "I'm a Heavenly G.o.d you know. The difference is too much, but well, I should be stronger than you by around two hundred folds" She smirked and said

Arima nodded "What's the difference between a H-G.o.d and E-G.o.d?" He asked

"What are those abbreviations? And why aren't you more surprised by my power?" Lilis said quietly but she had to admit that she almost shouted those lines. She sighed and pondered for a moment as to how explaining that "Well, first, the main difference between us is that we Heavenly G.o.ds live in a special world that we call Heaven, our world is not composed of a universe or galaxies. It's just an infinite land that we didn't succeed to explore in its entirety even to this day. Earthen G.o.ds are those who live in normal worlds like this one and can't go to Heaven, they usually keep traveling between universes and worlds" She started explaining

"Now, to become an Earthen G.o.d, one need to be born exceptionally talented or have the direct benediction of a Heavenly G.o.d. Then, to be a Heavenly G.o.d, it's another story, there's also multiple ways. One, to be the child of two Heavenly G.o.ds. Two, there's those like me, born by the emotions and thoughts of at least a quintillion people. This type of G.o.ds is born from the numerous different aspects of the mortals. For example, G.o.ds of war, love, happiness and more. Three, when an already existing Heaven G.o.d give his life away to a mortal. Four, the almost impossible way, raising one's strength until he can break through in the Heavenly realm, there's only one record of an Earthen One doing that in the last billion years" After that she paused

She smiled strangely and stared at Arima "The last way, is to be a life hunter" She said "Life Hunters can easily go up until the late stage of the Earthen Realm by extracting life force. When they reach that point, there is a way for a Life Hunter to ascend higher" She said

Arima frowned "What is it?" He asked

Lilis chuckled "I can't tell you that, from what I know, Life Hunters are better not knowing that information before it really happens to them" She explained "To finish, what I have to tell you is about the difference in power between the two realms. Actually, it's pretty simple, the power of an individual is measured on three different realms of strength, there isn't much to think about, they're called respectively, Mortal realm, Earthen realm and Heaven Realm, each corresponding to Humans, Earthen G.o.ds and Heavenly G.o.ds basically. So, its not hard to deduce that the Heaven G.o.ds are stronger. The Mortal realm is decomposed in the 10 levels, the Earthen realm is decomposed in 5 skies and the Heaven realm is decomposed in 3 divines. For information I'm in the first divine" She said

"All of this looks like the cultivation thing you have in your world. It's actually one of the closest descriptions of true power up. But it's wrong on one thing, the cultivation raises one's strength by gaining levels in their cultivation, it should be gaining a level when you become strong enough. I'm sure you realized it already, your body is changing since the moment you came into this world. You must have felt great changes the first day you arrived, that's because at that moment, your power could already be considered level six or seven, and in a world with magic circuits, the body has to adapt to the strength of the owner. So, each time you raise a level it's not because you reached a sort of condition to become stronger but because you reached a level of strength where your body is forced to change because it has to support more mana, spirit, life force, mind or pression and then with that body you can aim higher and so on. The biggest change the body endure is when you raise from the Mortal realm to the Earthen realm and from the Earthen realm to the Heaven realm" She explained clearly

"For you to understand the importance of that, for example, if you tried to fight a Heaven G.o.d the way you are right now, your attacks will never reach him and if you even just try to touch him, you will get heavily injured. Like trying to attack the three-dimensional when you're a two-dimensional" After that, Lilis breathed out after talking that much "There you go, you have all the information you wanted" She said

Arima stayed silent for a moment with eyes closed to process all of the information. He opened his eyes after half a minute "Thanks for teaching me" He said.

"So, what will you do? Your objective was to fight Errastas, right?" Lilis asked

Arima smiled "Yeah, it hasn't changed. But I'm a bit too weak right now, I'll try to raise to the Earthen realm for now. I'm not sure how long it will take, considering the fact that the life force I get from people weaker than me is useless, but I'm sure I will reach it someday" He said

Lilis laughed "I see" She said "I wish you good luck"

"I only believe in the fate I create for myself, luck has always only been a sympathic helper" Arima smirked and said. He stood up and left the room. Lilis shrugged and followed him soon after.
