Life Hunter 32 ''That Was A Good Fight''

"[From the underworld, the doom will rise]" The one who began was Koden. He chanted and soon, a tornado of darkness emerged from the ground and surrounded him

Arima smiled "First let me apologize, I won't use my strongest magic but the most effective I have against you" He said

The lich looked up, while he was concentrating on his magic, after he heard that.

"[Tempus vitae] (Life is time)" Arima began to chant

"[Sapientia est iudicium] (Wisdom is a trial)"

"[Ne forte oculis elevatis occurras superbiae] (When you look up, you meet your pride)"

At this point, Arima's surroundings glowed in an azure light. Koden felt threatened and resumed his chant

"[The world from above will absolutely return to nil]"

"[What deserves to die will disappear]"

"[Infernus coram oculis caeli] (The eyes of heaven are the eyes of h.e.l.l)"

"[In mundo fluxus meus intercluditur] (The flow of the world is stopped)"

It was like a compet.i.tion of incantations

"[Return life to its rightful owner]"

"[Give him what represent his existence]"

"[Drown under the Death's wing]"

Koden finished his chant, behind him a giant figure appeared, it was a black skeleton wearing a really large cloak. It was holding a scythe. Everything around it became rotten and dead, and the ground was covered in darkness.

"[Capto et torquem anima tua et tenebrae in eo] (Grab the chain of your soul and bring it into darkness)"

"[Voca ejus adsentiri necesse est, ne moriatur, et uri] (Call it a choice, don't die, and burn)

"[Estuans sors] (Burning Fate)"

Arima also finished and the sky became shrouded with azure flames, those flames moved in the sky like a tourbillon and finally gathered above Arima as a frightening and huge blue fireball.

"I see, a sacred magic" The lich said "Normally you shouldn't be able to conjure something like that as an undead, but who am I talking to?" Koden shook his head. The flames on his skull glowed brighter, the reaper behind him advanced slowly and placed itself in front of Koden.

Arima's flames also became bigger and burned stronger, he waved his hand and the fireball moved slowly ahead in the sky.

The situation paused for a few minutes before the two opponents released their aura with all their might.

The one-mile-wide blue fireball fell from the sky quickly. The reaper flew to the sky with a wave of darkness following it, that reaper didn't lose in regards to size, even with that sphere. He raised his scythe and clashed with the blue fire.

In less than a second the situation in the dimension changed drastically. Maybe this time it wasn't just the area but the whole continent that suffered an earth quake. And outside of it, the ocean water was being pushed back.

The shock wave traveled to every corner of the continent and destroyed countless obstacles on the way.

"[Turris Babel] (Tower of Babel)" The specter of a huge tower appeared

"[Final Gate]" An imposing gate formed

Both Arima and Koden were doing their best to resist the shock.

The clash between the reaper and the blue fire still didn't show any hint about the possible winner. The darkness and the scythe were trying to absorb and cut that fireball, and the latter just kept burning to destroy the enemy.

The whole area below was already as good as being in s.p.a.ce, there was no air, only darkness and fire, there was no earth, just magma and rotten vegetation, there was no gravity, as the attacks was repelling it like a gas.

Some parts of the magic's flew off in the sky and fell somewhere else and destroyed everything like nuclear bombs, be it black or blue.

Arima and Koden were both struggling to maintain their magic and control it.

"{Night, how long can you keep up if I give you three quarters of this magic's spiritual toll?}" Arima suddenly asked to Night

The latter was silent for a moment "{Thirty seconds}" He answered

Arima grinned "{That's enough}" he said.

Just like that, Arima gained a clearer mind by giving Night more toll. And he immediately extended his skeletal hand and began to write something in midair with his finger.

"[Scriptura](Scripture)" He chanted and continued to chant as he wrote

"[Choris et mortuus est] (The dead is dancing)"

"[Cantat et inferni] (All of h.e.l.l is singing)"

"[Venerunt autem et ex amissa] (Now come the lost being)"

"[Et quis prohibere qui enim mortuus est] (The one who will stop the dead)"

"[Silentio et inferni] (And silence h.e.l.l)"

"[Judicii] (Judgment)"

Arima finished chanting and writing in ten seconds, the words he wrote became a blue light that flew to the sky.

The darkened sky changed once again, the dark clouds moved and formed an inversed pit in the sky. From inside a blackish light was emitted and a black and red sphere of lightning descended slowly.

Koden looked at the sight with shock. He already was totally overwhelmed by the magic he was casting, and Arima launched a second one, of course he would be shocked.

The thunder sphere fell from the sky and crashed on the blue sun. The two fused together, the sun became bigger and filled with thunder and its color changed to purple.

At that moment Arima almost lost control of his magic, it was to say that half of his spirit was taking care of the 'One hundred parade'. A third of the remaining spirit was used by the blue fire and now he filled the rest with his new magic.

Around twenty seconds pa.s.sed since Night took the toll from the blue sun, he could only last ten more seconds.

The now purple sun was clearly pushing back the reaper but it was too slow, it needed more than ten seconds to win over it.

Arima made a choice, he put more mana on the concealment of his dimension and suddenly released his slaughter intent. The wave of bloodl.u.s.t hit Koden directly and he was frozen for a second. But that was enough for the purple sun. The scythe of the reaper broke and he was engulfed by the flames.

Soon enough, the purple sun flew towards Koden and exploded

Before he was completely destroyed, Koden's laugh resounded "That was a good fight, Arimane!" He said and his voice faded

The explosion extended to the whole undead zone until it vanished completely.

Arima was left standing on a barren land with nothing to be seen as far as even his eye could see. After the explosion, Arima instantly released his amplification technique and the resonance.

Him and Night were now lying and taking back their breath. Both of them a huge headache.

Arima dispelled the death magic on him and his flesh and organs returned, there wasn't any injuries but a fatigue overwhelmed him that he almost fainted.

He took a deep breath and raised his head, he pointed his palm to the horizon and a colorless wave of energy entered his body.

Just after that, his aura exploded, his body became naturally bigger, he grew to being two meters tall and his eyes gained a strange faint white symbol in his pupil. Night also received a boost because his strength is directly connected to Arima's soul and also broke through. His body now reached a height of twenty meters.

"Seems like we both broke through the tenth level and ninth level" Arima said hopping to get used to his new height and weight "Why did I need to get bigger? I don't want to become a giant someday" He complained and cracked his neck

"And me? Why would it be a bad thing for you and a normal thing for me" Night retorted

"Eh?" Arima returned him a very confused look "What are you talking about? You're a dragon"

Night was speechless for a moment and repeated in his mind what Arima just said to him "Why? Why can't I think of any argument to contradict you?" He uttered with a complexed expression

"Anyway, I'll dispel the dimensional connection, it's still draining my mana" He said and his eyes glowed before the surroundings broke like gla.s.s. He came back to the other side and saw the still undamaged landscape; the sun was beginning to raise.

Lanya was pouting on the stone remnant of the mausoleum, when she saw Arima and Night appear she immediately rushed to them.

"Why did you leave me here?!" She shouted to them "Why you…wait, you got bigger…?"

"If I had brought you, you would have died in the fight also, we just broke through that's why we are like this" Arima simply replied and moved towards the stone remnant leaving a gaping Lanya.

Night returned to his wolf form which changed one more time, now the wolf was two meters tall and there was a red pattern on his fur.

"Don't think too much about it" He said to Lanya and followed Arima

"How do you want me to do that?! Even you, master, you broke through the ninth level, what happened in there?" She said loudly, running after Night.

Arima was looking attentively at the material that this thing was made of. He took out Ira and shot at the stone, the bullet could only leave a mark, he tried one more time with thunder but the bullet could only pierce a distance as deep as itself.

"There was a type of stone that had those properties I think" Arima talked to himself and looked in his memories "Was it trinite?" Arima mumbled

Night arrived beside him "What's trinite?" He asked. Lanya also arrived, when she heard the question she was surprised

"Trinite is the hardest stone which one can find naturally, on this continent at least" She said instead of Arima

"Yeah, that's quite an impressive material, but it can't be used as weapon material, it's too rough and rigid. But it still can be useful" Arima said and engulfed the whole ruin in his storage "When I get back Karma I'll be able to cut this and maybe engrave it" He said

"So, where do we go now" Night casually asked

"Like I said…" Arima was going to say something but stopped. He turned towards Lanya "Do you want to go somewhere? I'm sure you're not from the monster territory, right?" He said

Lanya's eyes widened a bit "Yes, I'm not from here, actually I was born in the Republic but when I was ten years old I became an orphan and wandered until the monster continent somehow, and as you saw, I was captured by that vampire to be sold there" She said bitterly

Arima frowned, he thought there was something wrong with her explanation but didn't ask "So?" He just said

"I don't have a family in the human country but I have someone to which I'm indebted to, I'd like to go there" She said earnestly

"Where is it?" Arima asked

"At the spirit realm" She said

"I see, we'll go there then, but before I want to visit a place not far from here" Arima agreed to Lanya's request and said

"What are you talking about?" Night was curious

Arima pointed to raising sun, the east "The frontiers" He said and smiled
