Life Hunter 132 "It's Time To End All Of This''

The two stones encrusted on his heart allowed him to use Eion energy for his benefit. But he couldn't produce Eion energy by himself. He needed a direct intake of Eion before his body could be strengthened to incredible levels.

That strengthening only lasted for a few hours before stopping and leaving him tired. From that alone, Arima decided to act alone while continuously directing his 'Empire'.

When Arima gained the ability to basically be a true superhuman, he started to go around the world to gather people and eliminate others. He would kill anyone who became an obstacle on his way. The world slowly began to hear about him.

The army was the first to learn about him since he was originally a soldier. They tried to contact him and order him to let himself be captured.

But it was when Arima was twenty, and they were really too late for that. What they got instead of surrender was the death of multiple generals and other high ranked officers.

What Arima did after that was earth-shattering. He threatened the government of the U.S with FEBs that he had hidden at strategic places and gained control of the country in a few months. Of course, there was resistance and protests.

A civil war almost broke out but Arima decided to do something that forced them to obey. He detonated one of the FEBs, which was placed in the middle of a big city, after telling everyone to evacuate in advance.

The only people that stayed in the city were the ones that didn't agree with his forceful way of commanding the country. In the end, they all died in the explosion. After that incident, almost no one ever tried to go against Arima's rule.

All of this could sound like a mess a not really believable, but it was how things happened that time. Arima had supremacy in terms of firepower and could threaten anyone with it, he had Plasma Cannons and FEBs. But that's wasn't all of it. Arima himself was borderline a monster. He would go alone in a city filled with angry people and kill the leader in a day without even being spotted.

Arima had also prepared a lot before launching all of this, he used his mercenaries to spread part of his rule in the entire planet and had connections with everything. And particularly with underground societies. Arima said it himself "When you control the bad people, the one calling themselves good can't do anything on their own"

And that's what happened, Arima regulated every kind of weapon distribution and prohibited it to be in the hands of civilians. Not even for hunters or police officers. Arima thought that the latter was quite badly supervised anyway.

He dismantled what everyone called the police and replaced it with groups of trained soldiers who would accomplish their jobs of maintaining the security by any kind of means.

Arima couldn't delete the laws, he wasn't stupid enough to think that he could create a new political system on his own and then impose it on everyone. But he still had to change it since he obviously knew that it was flawed and inefficient. Particularly in the justice department.

Everything went quickly and slowly at the same time. Arima took over the country suddenly but his control over it, he built it slowly and calmly.

For years, he continued to control the people with threats and military power. But during that period, Arima never did something unfair, he made changes that saved many lives and improved the ones of others.

It was a dictatorship, but everyone stopped complaining about it after ten years. After they realized that their life was much better than before. When they thought about how Arima had taken power years ago, they would still say that it was horrendous and evil.

But now, even if it went against their values, they could only admit that Arima created a better life for everyone. And in those ten years, Arima took advantage of the power the FEBs gave him as much as possible to threaten other countries.

Most of those countries, after those ten years, surrendered when they understood that if they did not resist, only their political systems would be changed while the lives of the people would only improve.

The main problem in general history was that the people focused too much on democracy. They deemed it to be the best system there was when they compared it to the times where kings did everything they wanted.

But what they fail to realize was that by dividing power to everyone and anyone, the loopholes would always be exploited, and nothing will ever get better because of the different opinions. People think that it's better when people talk about their different points of view and then reach a conclusion.

But that way, nothing will ever change. And also, because it's always the most powerful person that would get the last word and gain the right to apply the 'brilliant' idea he came up with. That only helped the system to be even more complicated and flawed.

Arima changed all of this. Although everyone hated him for what he had done at first, now they could only say that he was a talented ruler.

When Arima was thirty-five, he had basically been accepted as the main leader of half of the world. During that time, Arima also did something that he never thought he would do anymore. One day, he heard about a seam of sapphire that had been discovered.

That day, for some reason, he got the idea of forging a weapon with that same sapphire. At the time, it was possible to modify sapphire's composition to make it suitable for forging. But no one would ever do that since it would reduce the value of the precious stone. But Arima did it, he basically was the king, he could do that at least.

He forged a katana for a month straight and called it Karma. Since that day, he would always bring it to the battlefield.

Arima continued his 'conquest' of the world in the following years. And one day, something special happened. While Arima was alone in China, he went after one of the biggest figures of the country, but when he reached the destination.

He noticed it was empty and then heard a beeping sound all around him. His eyes widened, and he looked at the sky with a smirk on his face. That day, he laughed for the first time in twenty-five years.

"That's how it ends? Treason?" Arima muttered and put a cigarette in his mouth "Seriously…it took too long…at least, I set the base. Haze and Jin will finish this…I couldn't find out what happened after all..." He murmured, and his surroundings exploded.

"Aaah, seriously. Now you're dead" Arima heard a voice oddly familiar and he suddenly opened his eyes. He looked around and realized he was in the middle of a dark and empty s.p.a.ce.

The only thing there was a perfect reflection of himself, smiling at him "How're you doing Arimane?" He asked.

Arima slowly stood up and frowned "…What are you?"

The reflection grinned and pointed at Arima "I'm you;" He paused and shrugged "That's the usual answer but it's a bit boring, so I'll change it. I'm your judge, I'm here to make you pa.s.s the Life Judgment. But since you died in a circuit-less world I can't do it" He explained.

"What is the Life Judgment?" Arima frowned and asked.

"Don't mind, you will forget this anyway" The reflection responded "I can't make you pa.s.s the Judgment, but I can revive you. That's what I'll do. I can only do it once since we're in a circuit-less world. So, by some miracle, please go to another world and die one more time there, okay?"

"What? Wait! I never said I wanted to live!" Arima didn't understand what was happening but if this copy was telling the truth, he was about to get revived. That's not what he wanted. Since the day Tieria and Scatha died, he constantly lived a life of blood and destruction. Not because he wanted to die, not only, he wanted to accomplish that goal and die while doing it.

"You can't" The reflection immediately stopped him "You're a Death Hunter. I'm sorry, you can't escape true fate" He said and snapped his fingers. The place around them crumbled and Arima shouted one more time in vain.

Arima suddenly opened his eyes and looked around. Everything was burned and destroyed by the explosion but he himself was perfectly fine.

"What…happened?" He couldn't understand, and his expression darkened "What is this? Are you telling me I can't die now? I wanted death but didn't want to offer myself to it. And now that's what I get? A mysterious phenomenon where I survive against my will?" He mocked and stood up.

As he did so, he felt something cold on his face and looked up. The sky was covered by the gray clouds and a downpour started in the next instant.

Arima was immediately drenched by the water. But he stayed there, immobile. His closed his eyes like he wanted to stay there forever.

That was so strange, Arima stayed there for two hours until the rain stopped. He opened his eyes and this time, they were completely different. They had kept their sharpness but the madness or anger it had before had completely disappeared.

You could almost say that there was kindness deep in those silver eyes "Fine…I'll continue" Arima muttered and walked away.

When he returned to his headquarters, Haze and Jin went to see him. They learned while he was away that someone had betrayed them, and they thought Arima had been trapped.

But what they saw wasn't only that Arima was fine, but he also had changed. Neither of them knew what happened but when they saw him, they both smiled "Welcome back, Arima"

Arima snickered and nodded "It's time to end all of this. Move on to the last step and then announce to the world that I left" Arima instructed "Tell everyone I disappeared. You can let them create as many rumors as they want. Just make sure that they won't ever forget me. Let's go"

Jin and Haze sighed and nodded. They then followed Arima for their last work. Decades ago, Arima launched a secret project and gave it to a small team at first.

That team's job was simple, find a way to destroy Eion energy easily. Like a virus. After years of research, they finally managed to do it. And the use of that virus was Arima's last order.

In the following years, every country in the world suddenly saw their Eion energy destroyed and only Arima's Empire was left owning Eion energy. They had suddenly strengthened their control over the world. And two years later, a public announcement was made.

Arimane Blade stepped out of the leader's role and left everything to his subordinates. After that day, Arima was never seen again. People talked a lot about that, they wondered what had happened to him, they would say that he died, became scared of the power, or even took a break and continued his life incognito.

For that question, we all know the answer. What is important is that after Arima disappeared from the world. The Empire he had created continued to work even better. The Eion energy became a resource only owned by Haze, the new leader.

And then, Arima had reached his goal. After that, wars had disappeared from the world. Now, there was only a single rule for the entire planet and the only battles you would see would between the new police and daily criminals.
