Soon, everyone vanished from the soul manifestation and reappeared outside of it. When Arima was back in the original arena of the FDA. He looked up and the gate started to slowly close. Just before the gates totally closed, a pair of red eyes peeked out from the vortex and a sinister laugh resounded everywhere.
Everyone present at that moment shivered as if the devil had just whispered behind them. They rubbed their neck just after but nothing more. Meanwhile, Arima, Night and Karma all stiffened and looked away. Particularly Arima who gritted his teeth and turned around. He directly walked to the portals to leave. The gate then transformed into white particles "You all, in two days we head to Cross Island. Rest well until then" Arima said while waving his hand.
Chulainn stared strangely at Arima while Arister and Lanya both looked at his back, obviously noticing his strange behavior. Lanya was also perplexed, it was the second time she didn't recognize Arima in his actions.
The first time was when she saw him with a genuine hatred and this time, the emotion she felt from him was true fear. That thought made her falter. She directed her sight to where the soul gate was before and became extremely confused. Why Arima would be scared of something coming from his own soul?
"Lanya, come" She then heard Arima's voice calling her. She trembled and rolled her eyes toward the source. She then noticed Arima had already lost any unfamiliar expression. As always, his composure was astounding. Lanya smiled wryly and hastened herself to join him to go through the gate.
Velvet looked silently until Arima's group left. She also sighed in relief when the miniature dragon on her neck jumped off. The latter also strangely stared at her, he smirked and snorted before turning into silver particles. A vein popped out on Velvet's forehead and even Natsu's expression twitched. Was that the ego of Arima's magic?
The Lawless Tome was apparently very arrogant to her since Arima said that he was craftier than a fox. Velvet sighed and also left the place soon after.
"This signs the end of the local compet.i.tion. The winning teams are Sir Blade and Miss Venu's cla.s.ses" The announcing voice declared. The images displayed by the recording crystals cut the image and the entire academy started talking about the fight between Lanya and Velvet.
*******************************************
"Okay, let's start. I promised, then I'll do it" Arima said after bringing Lanya into another dimension. Everyone was here, plus Raal and Karia who were curious about what was going to happen. The students had left to go wherever they wanted.
"The reason I made you fight Velvet was just that I wanted time to a.n.a.lyze your soul during your fight. I could have let you fight Karma or Night, but in these conditions, you never really 'opened' your soul to the fight" Arima started explaining.
"Well, when the princ.i.p.al asked me if I could do something about the stage, I thought of my soul realm and realized that I could maybe have seen your soul as long as you were in it, no matter who the opponent was" Arima shrugged and said.
Lanya could only smile bitterly. Night sighed and shook his head. Karma just chuckled. The rest simply thought that it was like Arima, relaxed and laid back. Also lazy at times.
"So, what do I do?" Lanya finally asked. Arima just smiled and took out Ira, he slowly ejected the magazine and placed a new one. He then took a transparent bullet and forcefully put it in the chamber by pulling the slide. Lanya looked a bit perplexed.
"Don't worry. You don't need to anything" Arima said and pointed Ira at Lanya. He then shot without any warning. Lanya's eyes narrowed but she didn't feel any threat from that bullet. Its speed was also really slow for her level.
She didn't move and the bullet landed on her chest and pierced her heart but there wasn't any blood and there wasn't even a scratch on her but Lanya couldn't reflect on it before she slowly lost consciousness as it was replaced by someone else's.
Behind Lanya's figure, a huge silhouette started forming. Slowly, the body of a hundred meters tall silver n.o.ble dragon appeared there. Night particularly reacted at that instant, he suddenly felt the urge to kneel down.
The silver dragon opened his dull eyes, reflecting knowledge and awareness. His huge eyes looked at Arima and the dragon sighed as it laid down on the ground "You again, huh? So, you noticed after all…" The dragon spoke with a lazy voice but it was strong enough for Raal, Karia, and Arister to fall on their knees. Karma and Night could barely withstand it. Meanwhile, Chulainn frowned as he looked at the dragon.
"You're Chronepsis…right?" He asked hesitatingly.
Arima smiled when he heard Chulainn say that, his thoughts were all proven now "You are Kanryin's son, huh?" Chronepsis muttered when he saw Chulainn. The latter was now completely lost, he knew Chronepsis because, as the Guardian of h.e.l.l, he knew almost all of the Earthen G.o.ds that ever existed. And he also knew that Chronepsis was supposed to be a simple dragon G.o.d. But right now, he felt an aura even stronger than his coming from him.
"I thought that it was strange" Arima's voice resounded and Chronepsis looked at him "I asked Lilis about it, to be an Earthen G.o.d, you need more than enter the Earthen Realm, you need to have a legend backing your existence and then refine your own body with a certain ritual" Arima paused and smiled "To then become what we call a G.o.d" He declared and Chronepsis squinted his eyes.
"For example, my legend could be something like the Kind Demon or…" Arima stopped in the middle of his sentence and shook his head "Well, for you, I know your legend. You're the Watcher, the outsider always looking at everything. Your t.i.tle carries 'justice' but you don't care about it" Arima said.
"The main reason I realized that you were not completely fused with Lanya was that the descriptions made of you are a lot more awe-inspiring. And also, because Lanya lacked the Unblinking Draconic Eyes, which is your trademark along with your 'vision'" Arima smirked, "Now, tell me, you are a Heavenly G.o.d aren't you?"
These words not only shocked Chulainn but everyone around except Raal and Karia who didn't know what it was.
Chronepsis snorted "What's the point in knowing that?" He responded. He then stared at Arima and his eyes changed slowly, the pupils were then filled with a gold shining light and his irises turned sky blue, like a diamond. The dragon observed Arima with those eyes for a moment before closing them.
When he showed them once again, they had returned to normal "Life and Death Hunter, Silver Emperor, Wicked One, Arimane. R. Blade, Kind Demon, First Eternal Dragon, and Plane Guardian" Chronepsis listed out a number of t.i.tles with a lazy att.i.tude. Arima's expression changed each time. Chulainn was also shocked by all of that, particularly the last one.
First, he said 'Life and Death Hunter' like it was a single t.i.tle. He then continued with 'Silver Emperor' which was actually pretty easy to see for the higher-level ent.i.ties. The third t.i.tle, Wicked One, was something pretty confusing. He then followed by saying Arima's full name but added a middle name that even the person concerned didn't know about.
When he said, Kind Demon, Arima was even more perplexed, why would he say that t.i.tle just after those extremely perturbing ones. The penultimate, 'First Eternal Dragon' was extremely strange since Arima knew that he was human. But when he heard dragon he instinctively thought of Night.
And finally, 'Plane Guardian', it was something that he had heard from Chulainn when he first met him. Arima repeated all of this in his mind and then raised his head to look at Chronepsis "Was that what you saw in my future?" He inquired.
"Yeah. But I after that I can't, my power isn't enough to see the life of a Plane Guardian, I only know that you will become one" The silver dragon casually answered "But let me tell you, your fate is really messed up, I don't know if it will be hard for you or not, but your life is certainly something never seen before"
Chronepsis sighed and his body started glowing "I suppose your motive was to wake me up and make me fuse completely with this little girl" He said "I don't have enough strength to stay alive anymore anyway. But I have a condition before leaving all my power and knowledge to her" With just his words, Arima received the whole information directly in his mind and nodded. He stayed silent since he knew that Chronepsis won't tell him more.
"Good then" The dragon nodded too "I died because of a mistake and had to take refuge in this little girl. She's quite special, her soul that is" He said and his entire body became a pillar of light that engulfed Lanya.
"I wish you good luck. Also, this girl won't inherit all my knowledge and power right away, she needs to reinforce herself a little before that" Chronepsis said his last words and his voice faded away. The light also died down and Lanya wavered. Arima caught her before she fell.
He then gently laid her down on the ground and checked her state. She had really broken through the Earthen realm, she even was already in the third sky. She will need to train a lot to get used to this new strength.
"…That was the most unexpected thing I've ever witnessed in my many years of life" Chulainn muttered after he recovered from the shock "To think that a Heavenly G.o.d hid from Heaven itself and lived without anyone knowing about him" He said "And also that I actually met a future Plane Guardian"
"You're all saying that but what is a Plane Guardian?" Night asked the h.e.l.lhound.
"A Plane Guardian is supposed to be the strongest existence capable of existing, even above G.o.ds" Chulainn responded.
"'Supposed to'?" Karma quoted.
Chulainn nodded "Yes, I only heard about the Plane Guardians from a Heavenly G.o.d that died and was pulled in h.e.l.l. He only knew the legends" He explained, "To make you understand what it is, do you all know what a Plane is?" He inquired and everyone shook their heads.
"Go on" Arima just said and Chulainn shrugged.
"Well then, we'll start from a planet. A gathering of a certain number of them makes a solar system. Multiple solar systems, planets, and stars, form a galaxy. Galaxies const.i.tute galactic groups which are contained into the bigger supercl.u.s.ters. All of this together is what we call Universe. And finally, the infinity that is the universe is what we call a World" Chulainn explained.
"Different Worlds are separated from each other but connected together at the same time. They basically have a sort of ethereal connection that even G.o.ds can't investigate. But they call that connection the 'Spiritual Bridge' and the 'zone' the bridge is built in is what they call a dimension. Dimensions are what surrounds a world, in incalculable numbers. Those dimensions can have particular environments because of the magic circuits' distortion"
Chulainn looked at Arima "That's what you do every time you go into another dimension like this one. You build a pseudo-Spiritual Bridge to go inside a 'copy' dimension of the world you are in. And you also choose the particularities of the dimensions by changing the spiritual bridge with your magic theory. That's what you call Dimensional magic" He said.
"Now, the important thing is this. There's an infinite number of worlds, or maybe not, but there are enough Worlds for us to say that it's infinite. And, these numerous worlds are what we call, a plane of existence"
