But when he woke up, that king had already lost any similarities to the one who was talking to the princes a moment ago. The moment he opened his eyes, he cowered in fear and answered to any questions he was asked.
Kyle was shocked and Elion looked solemnly. He, of course, realized the obvious attack that man had received to his mind and soul from Arima. He had basically become as innocent as a newborn. He regretted absolutely everything he had done in his life like he couldn't tolerate evil.
When Ofia saw this, she became even more aware of how terrifying Arima was. The latter had told them during a lecture on mind magic that he used to infiltrate the mind and take the memories while killing the victim. But she just realized that he could even change a person's mind. If he wanted, maybe he could transform someone into a puppet.
And since there was no one strong enough to stop him, it reinforced Arima's threat. In the end, the king spilled it out and just said that he was sorry, just repeating that he was too prideful and that was the reason he aimed at the Central City. He wanted to control the Main Land.
Gand sighed while checking the king's mind "Everything he says is the truth, he's not acting or anything. This guy has really become as inoffensive as a child" He said and looked at Ofia "Princess, your teacher is someone really dangerous and strong"
Ofia wryly smiled "I know, Gand. When someone is too dangerous, they should be eliminated, but even if people say that all the problems can't be solved with strength, everything becomes a joke when you're confronted to absolute superiority" She said "I learned something with Sir. Blade" She paused and Lena also looked at her "Strength can resolve anything" She declared.
Gand and Elion were very surprised and looked at each other. Their princess was usually very smart and compa.s.sionate, they never heard her say things like that. It was even the opposite, they thought she was against that kind of idea. They wondered what kind of power could make her view of the world change so drastically.
"Gand, can you help us to go back?" Lena then asked to the old mage. The old man sighed and went toward the princesses.
"Elion, take care of things here" The old man said before teleporting with Lena and Ofia.
Kyle looked at the king "That guy is good for nothing now, he can't govern a country. Although it sounds bad, we'll order him to sign a decree which will give us his rulership" He declared and Jerio nodded. Elion bowed and just listened to his prince's instructions.

Gand teleported the two sisters just in front of their cla.s.sroom "Thank you, Gand" Ofia said then opened the door. The first thing she saw was Night fuming in a corner with Karma around him. Arima was simply sitting on his seat, reading a book, and the students were going through a written test that Night had given because he didn't want to teach them anything.
When Ofia and Lena entered, they bowed to Arima and directly went to their seat to make their tests. Gand looked from behind and walked toward Arima after a moment. Every student was interested and looked at them.
"You're the Kind Demon, right?" Gand raised his voice and Arima nodded "I am Gand, the Magus of the king's citadel. I have a favor to ask, if possible, can you show me your mana core?" He demanded.
Arima's eyes widened a bit then mused, he closed the book he was reading then stood up "Okay, it's a good occasion anyway. You all, I'll pause your test for a moment" Arima announced and everyone put down their pens. Arima's sigil revolved and the surroundings changed. The walls and the entire academy disappeared, the only things which stayed were his students' seats and the floor. Now, they had a perfect view of the sky and around them, there was just a lowland as far as the eye could see.
The students weren't surprised at this point but Gand took a step back and gulped. The students maybe didn't feel it, but he was at the first sky of the earthen realm, he felt the dense and huge mana that left Arima's body.
The latter casually walked out of the room, with no walls and roof, and went into the plain. n.o.body followed him as they knew he was going to show them something.
When he was around five hundred meters away from the cla.s.s, Arima stopped. He breathed in and closed his eyes. He slowly moved his hand and formed a sort of circle with them in front of his chest.
The mana core of an individual is basically the bottom of the mana pool, but it's also from there that the mana comes from. The mana core is what connects you to the magic circuits. Everyone has a mana core since birth and if it is destroyed, you can't gather mana in your body anymore, forever.
Arima breathed out and a light started forming between his hands. To be exact, it was three different lights, a blue one, a black one and a silver one.
Gand's eyes narrowed and most of the students slammed their desks as they stood up. Arima had three mana cores. It was unbelievable for them, it is said that having two cores was possible, but someone like that hadn't appeared in centuries. But Arima had three of them.
Ofia calmly observed and deduced that the blue one was the original, the core that Arima got naturally at birth. She then recognized that silver color, it was the same color that surrounded Arima when he fought with Chulainn.
Though the latter instantly recognized the ident.i.ty of every core "The blue one represents Arima's ident.i.ty as a Life Hunter, the back one represents his ident.i.ty as a Death Hunter and the silver one represents his ident.i.ty as a Silver Emperor" He said out loud for everyone to hear.
The students looked at him in wonder, they never heard about Hunters or Silver Emperors. Was that the explanation to Arima's strength?
"But it's strange" Chulainn then commented.
"What is it?" Night asked.
"I feel like…" Chulainn paused "There's a fourth one which is dormant" He declared and everyone one more time raised their voice "That energy…I never saw it before" He muttered with complex feelings.
Meanwhile, even Arima was surprised when he saw that dormant energy. But when he realized what it was, he smirked like never before. That smile contained pain, irony, nostalgy, and happiness. When Lanya, Night and Karma saw that smile, they all trembled in shock. Even Chulainn and Arister were surprised.
His students also saw it and were dazed. Ofia even asked herself if she was seeing the same person. Arima shook his head then concentrated on his cores once again. Once he did it, the three cores started expanding and then started orbiting around him.
Then, they started to be truly liberated in the air. The whole audience suddenly felt a dense, pure mana covering everything. In their awe, everyone felt washed off any bad emotion as the mana pa.s.sed through them.
That mana was too pure. Even Gand was already drunk in it. Around Arima, the plants started growing ma.s.sively, the gra.s.s, the flower, the trees, everything was becoming purer and cleaner. That pure paradise continued to spread for miles as the quant.i.ty of mana already surpa.s.sed the imagination of the spectators.
The quant.i.ty of mana around them already was bigger than the mana pools combined of every student. If they weren't here in person, they would have never believed it.
Arima raised his hand toward the sky, the wind stopped blowing and became unbelievably calm. The water of the rivers flowed perfectly without any sound. The air was then filled with sparkling lights and the clouds slowly gathered in the sky. Those thick gray clouds started pouring water on the earth.
The rain fell on the 'paradise' giving it a melancholic feeling. But it didn't make the scene sad, it was even more beautiful. The students raised their hand and tried to touch the raindrops but they dissolved before touching them. Only the plants and Arima himself was being drenched in water.
Lanya tried to reach for a raindrop too and then tears fell down her cheeks. Even Karma and Night weren't that cheerful in front of the scene. They were the closest to Arima, more than the beauty of it, they felt the melancholy more than anything else. Chulainn and Arister silently watched.
"…so that's his mana manifestation" Gand muttered and wryly smiled "How can someone have this kind of scenery in his heart?"
The core manifestation was basically how the mana of the person would interact with the world around if it was released freely. Mana contains the mind of the caster and all of his feelings. The scene everyone was watching right now was the translation of Arima's mind into the real world.
When people think of him, they may think that his manifestation would be something more like something which brings destruction and something 'harder'. But it was just nature, nothing was destroyed, it just reflected nature and melancholy.
"Seriously, I can't understand him" Chulainn muttered "Is he someone cruel or compa.s.sionate? Mean or kind? Good or evil? All of those questions, are you telling me he's answering them with this? What the h.e.l.l is going on in this guy's head?"
"You know…" Karma raised her voice for everyone to hear. The tone of her voice was so serious that everyone went silent and listened to her "I most likely know Arima for the longest time here. I was forged a century ago. And even as a weapon, I can still remember how he was in those times" She said.
"When he forged me, this scenery was most likely drenched in blood. I don't know much about Arima's life, I can't remember a lot. But at some point, in his life, he must have formed those clouds and used the rain to wash all the blood. And I presume that it's still the same right now. He washes everything with it. Anything that could taint this scene will always be eliminated" She told and everyone stared at Arima.
The latter breathed out and waved his hand. Instantly, the cores returned back in his body and the surroundings changed once more. Everyone was now back in the FDA and the walls and roof came back. Arima was back on his seat once more without any other comment and took his book in hand one more time "Continue the test" He then said. He had no intention to talk about what happened, he just wanted to show them his mana core to prepare them for a later date.
The students were dazed for a moment, they had to recover a bit before resuming their work with their minds in turmoil. Gand also stayed silent for a moment then bowed slightly "Thank you for showing me this. I now understand how a true mana core should act. I'll try to get better" He said and left the cla.s.sroom.
"…Let me clear by the way, it isn't how a true core should act, you will just waste your time if you try to reach the level of an anomaly like Arima. It's like trying to become a bug but will never be allowed because of the anti-virus" Night said with blank expression after two seconds of silence. He felt obligated to tell that to the cla.s.s.
The students nodded at his words without even taking out their eyes from their test papers, even though they didn't understand the image at all, they got the point "Pretty accurate" Chulainn added. Arima clicked his tongue while reading his book and everyone fell silent.
After an hour, Arima retrieved the tests then sat on the desk "So, we're now forty. We're ready to partic.i.p.ate in that compet.i.tion. I'll talk about it in detail and tell you what my plan for this cla.s.s is" Arima announced and his students became excited at the thought of going in the compet.i.tion.
