She has a garden of all kinds of vegetables and even has a few berries growing.
Her chickens lay eggs and her goats give her milk. She even has a dog for company. She figured out how to get fish, crabs, and to harvest seaweed.
"Charlie, Come to mama. Charlie " Soon a big lab come running. She hugs the big dog. "Now, Charlie I need to go pump some more water do you want to come?"
Charlie had never been in the dragon's den but with the elevator pulley system Susan built he could go up. She wandered what that dragon would do with Charlie there.
Up the two went in the basket. It use to take 4 hours to climb up, pump the waster, and repel down. Now it take 2 hours for the whole thing.
As soon as Charlie seen the dragon he started barking and growling at him. She just let him getting to work on the water. When she came out Charlie was gone. Then she heard him bark and looked out. He was on the ground.
Susan turned around and kicked the dragon. "Ancestialian you A#$ I know your awake Charlie could not get back down there by himself." She waited a moment for a response.
"Ancestialian I know you hear me wake up." One dragon eye opened and looked at her.
"Ancestialian, I see you eye now get up."
She could see the dragon laughing as he raised his head.
"Now be a good dragon was let Ailill out. If you want to sleep do it like Luna inside. I want to talk to Ailill. "
'She's got guts. Reminds me of Luna. Ok Ailill I'll let you shift out I won't shift again for a year so no flying for you. Get her to mate us and I'll forgive you.'
"I have a year you promise unlike the 2 days you gave and took back."
'I promise I was wrong to not let you try. good night old friend remember you have a year.'
With that promise Ailill fazed in this world next to Susan.
"h.e.l.lo macushla, miss me" He smiled at her.
"Yah, I did" She threw arms around him and hugged him.
"I missed you more" He loved the feel of his storeen.
"Lets go down and we'll talk. Do you want to go down with me or your dragon magic? " She asked.
"Ancestialian, took away my magic for a year so I have to live like a human. So I will follow you."Ailill got in the basket and helped her lower them both down.
Once down Charlie knocked the big guy over excited to see a new friend. "Charlie down you big goof, go play"
Charlie ran off to find his friend the turtle her loved to torment.
"So what was it like trapped in a dragon?" Susan asked.
"I normally sleep and so I never minded it before. This time I did not sleep and was worried the whole time we were apart. I am glad you talked Ancestialian into waking up.How long was he asleep, I could not tell.?" Ailill asked.
"Lets see 5 days before I all most died of dehydration and starvation. 3 months in hospital. 9 months then I came back to check on you. 12 months to finish off my bills and save to get supplies. 3 months to build all this. Makes it a little over 2 years." She had added it up many times.
She did not blame him but it was hard not to show the pain she went through.
Ailill was quite while she fixed a meal and only looked up when she spoke him him.
"If Ancestialian is a sleep how will you eat. Raw or cooked. "She asked.
He had not thought of this. When he was with his parents his mother always cooked his food. Only on small occasions did he have Ancestialian eat raw fish."Well with my dragon a sleep it will need cooked."
"Why?" she asked.
"Dragon's cook their food as it goes down. If they ate already cooked food then it would be burnt." He explained then went on."My mother cooked for us three times a day. I loved and now missed her food."
She could tell the memory of his mother made him sad. Her heart ached for him, but she understood what the feeling of missing your parents was like, she missed her dad everyday.
She prepared a salad with eggs and lightly seasoned fish. He could not believe how wonderful everything was. Even the plants she served was delicious, he could not remember if he had ever eaten any plants before.
"Macushla, Storeen, This was wonderful. I look forward to mealtimes. "
Ailill help clean up and followed her with her ch.o.r.es. Charlie came and wanted to play and Susan showed him how to throw his ball so he could bring it back. A strange thing to do but the animal liked it, who was he to complain. He was the guest this time on his isle.
The sun was sitting in the sky when she had finished cleaning up the dinner dishes. He seen how are she had worked and vowed to help her out from now on. She only had to let him know what to do.
When they went into the little he noticed she made it a little taller the some of the cottages he would visit so he had no trouble standing in her home. Everything was cute and tidy. He did notice only one bed and wondered if he should move back to his den for the night or maybe this was a chance to spend the night with her.
"A'lainn acushla, may I stay here tonight with you? I promise not to mate you I just don't want to be alone again" he gave her the sweetest smile. He was tring hard not to be a slibhin.
She thought for a moment the said, " If you promise then Yes"
"I promise storeen I promise" Then they both lay in the bed for a little sleep.
