In the early morning two days later, the sky was fuzzy and overcast. The Xun Yang mountain range was covered by light fog and light rain.
Wen Jing turned on his bed and hugged the giant python by his side.
The python comfortably rolled and revealed a white stomach, twisting itself and coiling around him.
The snake's tail very naturally slipped in between his legs. It was only separated by the thin cloth of his pants.
Wen Jing blushed and pulled the python off: "The sky is bright now. I need to find Jun shixiong."
The python didn't move and coiled around his thigh. It's head entered and explored inside his collar. It rubbed against his smooth shoulder.
It was very easy to get excited in the morning.
Wen Jing understood this principle.
However, a snake also was like this?
Wen Jing let him twist around for a while, not moving at all.
The other party didn't feel anything. Playing by himself was pretty boring. The python stopped with resentment. When it could act spoiled, it just had to be an exterior that couldn't let a person feel anything. When he could move people's hearts, he had to be elegant and aloof. He couldn't hold this little one and do reckless things——
Therefore, in life, since ancient times, it was hard to have the best of everything,
The python slide off his body. It coiled itself together and stared at him. Its head was slightly stretched out and seemed to be pitifully asking for forgiveness.
Wen Jing touched his head: "Go. Come back tonight."
He brushed past Wen Jing's cheeks and neck[1]. The snake's head nuzzled against him for a long time before the python finally slithered out from the window. When it looked back, the youth had already gotten off the bed.
Wen Jing took out his clothing from the closet. He put on the clothes and then walked outside.
The giant tortoise squatted on the ground. Its four limbs were withdrawn into his sh.e.l.l, and his entire body was wet from rainwater. It strangely made people feel concerned.
Wen Jing quickly carried it into the house and wiped it dry. Then he carried a plate of little red fruits to feed it.
He then closed the door. He hurriedly went to Jun YanZhi's house under continuous light rain.
The sky still wasn't completely bright yet. The door that was closed gently and quietly shook without a sound.
Wen Jing shook off some of the rain from his body. Then he pushed open the door and entered.
The thin and tall man only wore a pair of pants, standing in front of the bed. His hair was already brushed. His upper body was bare, and his skin was smooth. His fine muscles weren't buff or skinny.
He took a light glance at Wen Jing: "You came."
Wen Jing slightly parted his lips. It took him a while before he finally lowered his head: "Shixiong, you should wear your clothes first. I'll wait outside."
As he talked, he retreated out.
Jun YanZhi bit his lip. He felt sour.
As expected, you just couldn't get your cake and eat it……This elegant and handsome exterior was enough to move the little one's heart, but he couldn't eat anything. Just touching him was already extremely difficult.
But if he used force and rushed in, he was afraid that he would scare him away.
Jun YanZhi calmly wore his usual light green outfit and made sure it was neat.
Before he could be together with that youth, he first needed to do a few important things……
If he didn't do them, it would be a little difficult to calm his heart and mind.
Just what was the incident that took place over ten years ago at that night for? Just what was the reason to kill a whole family? The gentle mother and the sister that made one want to love and dote on……Just what was the significance for their deaths?
He needed an answer to calm his anger and in order to let go of everything.
Except, calming the anger didn't just simply require an answer but also blood.
"Come in. I'm properly dressed." Jun YanZhi fastened his belt and sat down in front of the table. His expression was indifferent.
Wen Jing opened the door, walked in, and said: "Elder Lu from Gui Jing sect will arrive today. It should be about now."
"I know……You're wet." Jun YanZhi pulled Wen Jing next to him. He swatted at the rain on Wen Jing.
Wen Jing stood in front of him and said while smiling: "Shixiong, I've already reached your eyebrows."
"Still shorter than me by a bit." Jun YanZhi slightly lowered his head.
"En[2]……Shixiong, Who do you think caused the incident with Zhao NingTian and the Tian Heng peak disciples?" Wen Jing stopped smiling, his expression taking a turn.
"……What do you think?" Jun YanZhi's expression didn't change while he looked at him.
If I could guess it, I would've already told you……
According to the series of connected incidents that happened that day, the person should be someone in Qin Xu sword sect. As for who it was exactly, he still couldn't conclude anything.
Guessing who the real 'behind-the-scenes' person was, was the hottest topic in the comments section.
Some people betted Xi Fang. The righteous sect character that was secretly malevolent, was something that was used a lot in novels. A complete character reversal. The more one looked righteous and harmless; the more possible it was for them to be the 'behind the scenes' string puller.
Some people had placed their bets on Liu QianMo and He Ling. The reason was that the people by one's side were the least suspected. It was quite difficult to imagine them doing it, so this would probably be the best plot.
Of course, there were also some people who thought that it was some people that weren't from Qin Xu sword sect, such as, Elder Lu ZhiShan from Gu Jing sect.
Some people also guessed that it was Jun YanZhi.
The protagonist turning into a villain was a very interesting writing technique. However, the incident of ShuiYue palace at Eight Winds Cliff completely washed any suspicion off of Jun YanZhi. In the half year before going to Eight Winds Cliff, Jun YanZhi didn't even go down the mountain. He also hadn't met the people from ShuiYue palace. He was only a Foundation Building cultivator so he couldn't send his spirit out of his body. How could he have killed people?
At least Liu QianMo and He Ling had gone down the mountain. They were more suspicious than Jun YanZhi.
Moreover, the original text went down the path of leveling up. It should be following Jun YanZhi's step by step efforts to grow strong. The suspicious people should only belong to a small part that was used as a stepping stone.
In this kind of text, if the protagonist became the villain, then it would incur the spitting and cursing of ten thousand people.
"If this demonic cultivator had hundreds of thousands of years of cultivation, then wouldn't it be equivalent to a Nascent Soul cultivator? Our Qing Xu sword sect only has one Nascent Soul cultivator." Wen Jing said.
"Elder Ke is always in seclusion. If we found this demonic cultivator, only he could suppress them."
"What if the demonic cultivator's abilities were far above that? What if he has yet to use his full strength?"
Jun YanZhi slightly lowered his eyes: "That would be……a calamity for all life."
Wen Jing's heart fiercely shook. He raised his head to look at him.
What was the meaning of these words? That would be a calamity for all life?
He slightly panicked and his thoughts were a little chaotic. A bit of doubt emerged.
The original text was tagged as dark……
The name of the novel was A Calamity for All Living Things……
Why was it so coincidental?
Could it be that the ending of the original text was that all life was thrown into calamity, and no one could suppress that devil? Could it be that everyone in Qin Xu sword sect would die under the hands of the demonic cultivator, including Jun shixiong?
"What are you thinking about?" Jun YanZhi lowered his head and asked.
"Nothing. I'm worried about everyone's safety……"
Jun YanZhi pressed his lips together and then quietly said: "Don't worry……I will protect you so that no harm will befall upon you."
"En." Wen Jing was still a little anxious and couldn't calm down.
If Jun shixiong died, if python died, if tortoise died, then it would be harder to endure than if he died……
That night, the system warned him that there were devil's traces around Jun shixiong's living place. Just who was it?
Jun YanZhi's adam's apple slightly moved. The little one obviously had something on his mind. If at this time he used a kiss to comfort him, would he resist?
……A kiss was naturally not enough.
He wanted to take off all his clothes, spread his legs, and directly enter him, hearing him moan, cry, and beg for mercy in his embrace……
"Jun shixiong, what are you thinking about?" Jun YanZhi strangely looked at him.
Jun YanZhi's line of sight moved away from the opening of his collar. His phoenix eyes looked outside of the window and his voice was slightly hoa.r.s.e: "It's getting late, let's go take a look."
"Oh, okay."
The two people left. With one person in front and one person in the back, they flew towards Qing Xu hall.
Looking at the simple and fresh figure in front of him, Wen Jing suddenly said: "Jun shixiong, can you let out the fragrance on you to let me smell it?"
That figure didn't look back. It only lightly said after some time: "You like it?"
"It smells really nice."
A wave of light gra.s.s and tree scent spread throughout the air, giving off a refreshing feeling.
Wen Jing took a deep breath.
A lot of disciples had already gathered in Qing Xu hall. They were waiting in groups of three to five. Xi Fang didn't force the disciple to come welcome the elder, but there were still a lot of them who came here to their pay respects to Zhu Feng country's only heavenly wood spirit root cultivator.
Liu QianMo looked at the approaching Jun YanZhi and Wen Jing. He quietly said to He Ling: "Fourth shidi and that stupid little one seem to be really close recently. Will something happen?"
He Ling indifferently said: "Why care about other people's personal matters?"
"En……That's true. I'm worrying too much." Liu QianMo lowered his head in introspection.
Jun YanZhi led Wen Jing and the other Hui Shi peak disciples to sit together and wait.
Liu QianMo said to He Ling and Jun YanZhi: "Tian Heng peak had an incident, and the interpeak compet.i.tion was put on hold. You guys have to take this opportunity to diligently cultivate so as to prepare for the third round of compet.i.tion."
He Ling didn't answer while Jun YanZhi lightly said: "Okay."
Peng Shao: "If one's name could be recorded in Fei Xian hall, then it is Hui Shi peak's honor."
Gui XinBi: "If one person ascends to become an immortal, then the chickens and dogs also ascend[3]. If you guys get your names left in Fei Xian hall and become a peak master in the future, you can't forget us."
The top ten after the third round of the interpeak compet.i.tion would not only get a lot of rewards. The top three could enter the Fei Xian hall at the peak of Yu Rong peak and personally carve their name. They would also become a candidate to be peak the master in future.
Mo ShaoYan said, word by word: "Gui shixiong doesn't wish to cultivate anymore. He is just waiting for you guys to become immortals and bring him up with you."
Everyone smiled. Gui XinBi also didn't care and slowly said: "The idea you said was not bad. That is exactly what I thought."
Right then, they suddenly heard a few people say: "Look! They're coming!"
Wen Jing stood up and looked towards the eastern horizon. A light green dragon about 100 feet long was flying over, surrounded by clouds. It was originally raining, but with the dragon appearing and disappearing among the clouds, the clouds were disrupted.
From the sky came a low dragon roar which was long and pleasant to the ears.
Everyone was currently marveling at it when a red colored bird suddenly flew out. The bird's tail was five colored [4]. Its beauty was peerless. It was about 100 some feet long and was Xi Fang's mount "SanJi Phoenix" that he was currently riding on, using to welcome the elder.
Not long after, the phoenix and the light green dragon met in the sky. They flew towards Qing Xu hall together.
Li Shu said with envy: "What mythical beast is that?"
Wen Jing couldn't help but feel admiration in his heart: "I heard that that's the third realm's YuYan dragon. It has a trace of the blood from the ancient light green dragon. It can fly in the sky and enter the oceans. There is nowhere it can't go. It is one of the rare mystical beasts in Zhu Feng country."
Jun YanZhi glanced at him: "……You're right."
The light green dragon and the phoenix landed. The clouds were swirling, and spiritual energy surged. From the blur, a white-haired old man walked out. He was old and slightly thin. He nodded and smiled towards Xi Fang and the disciples of Qin Xu sword sect.
That YuYan dragon had also shrunk into a smaller and smaller size. It eventually became the size of a person and crawled behind the old man.
Footnotes:
[1] I had a little trouble with this one. I still didn't quite get it. The original phrase was 信子扫在文荆的脸颊和脖子上. I didn't understand the 信子 in this phrase. I searched on baidu, but I could only find that it is a flower called hyacinth that makes no sense tho. Please contact me or leave a comment if you know what it means.
[2] An onomatopoeia for a sound of agreement. Like a hm in acknowledgement. I probably won't mention this again for any future En since it happens a lot.
[3] This is basically saying that when one person understands the Dao and ascends to become an immortal then the whole family even the chickens and dogs ascend. Another way of explaining it is that as long as one person does really well then everyone with a good relationship with them would also enjoy benefits.
[4] It is called 五彩 which stands for the colors yellow, white, light green, black, and red.
He mentioned his collar because back then clothes were like this. Kinda like a bathroom robe but thinner and made out of the same material as clothes. Here's a Chinese dragon as well.
Tn:
I just love Liu QianMo and He Ling's reactions to Wen Jing and Jun YanZhi right now.
