Right now, I'm intruding in Kaori's house.

She says with a smile, because Kaori has made another friend.

"What? Igarashi, are you a relative of Keiichi?” (Mother)

I only got out ‘Igarashi Kei,’ but it seems as if I was heard.

Kaori’s mother tilts her head as if trying to remember something. Kaori is covering my mouth, while beads of sweat form on her forehead.

I couldn’t answer with my mouth covered, but Kaori is answering for me.

“Well, umm... yeah, that's right! Keiichi’s… Co, cousin Kei! She moved away from her parents this year to attend my high school.” (Kaori)

I was thinking Kaori is a big liar! I really don’t know how long this lie can hold.

“Oh, that's right. Are you a freshman this year?” (Mother)

“Oh, yeah. Really! She’s like a little sister!” (Kaori)

Going with the flow, Kaori replies adding an unneeded sentence without denying anything.

We’re even lying about what grade I’m in now? I have no idea what’s going on anymore. How long do you plan to keep covering my mouth? Why doesn't your mom say something about it?

“If you live alone... if you’re a Keiichi’s cousin, shouldn’t you live in the same house as him?” (Mother)

Kaori’s mother said reasonably, but Kaori looked at me with a blood vessel bulging on her forehead.

“What are you talking about? It would be dangerous for her to live with Keiichi!” (Kaori)

I don't know if it’s dangerous, but Kaori seems to be angry. I feel that it’s completely unreasonable to accuse me like that, but I have given up on saying anything because my mouth is still covered.

I had been struggling and hitting her hand, which was covering my mouth, several times, but it doesn’t seem to have any effect.

“Who’s dangerous? When it comes to Keiichi, you aren’t honest with yourself.” (Mother)

Her mother replied amazed at what Kaori had said.

“Whatever, I'm going to my room!” (Kaori)

Kaori said, while dragging me off to her room on the second floor.

She finally let me go at the top of the stairs and I said to Kaori’s mother, ‘Sorry for the intrusion’, then I followed Kaori to her room.

I had no way to correct Kaori's lie anymore.
