The Apocalyptic Survival 5 Chapter 5

"This cannot be real, it's not Gillian, it's just a nightmare..." she mutters under her breath again as she looks down at her feet and closes her eyes.

"Just wake up in the bar, where you were before you... possibly pa.s.sed out... this is all just a horrible nightmare" Gillian told her self again, gripping her hands into fists.

Everything was quiet until an explosion broke the silence. Gillian shook her head from the fright and opened her eyes to see what just happened, she began to back up as a thick cloud of dust and smoke began rolling towards her.

She was forced to cover her face with her arms from the flying debris.

Slowly beginning to uncover her face from her arms, she looks from side to side as she has been digested by the cloud of smoke, glowing in a luminous yellowy- orange colour. She covered her nose with her top from the smoke and dust and she begins to walk forward.

"I got to help whoever needs help," Gillian tells herself as she looks around trying to see anyone that needs help, but the cloud of smoke and dust is making it hard to do so as it decreased the visibility. The cloud seems to have become thinner, suddenly, Gillian spotted a body or two, dead.

"I hope that there are some survivors, I hope that Frank survived," Gillian tells herself as she continues searching for survivors and Frank.

"Maybe if I go closer to the fire, I could find some survivors?" Gillian thought to herself as she looks to her left, where the light is the brightest. She hesitates for a moment or two before making her first movements towards the fire, and the ruins of where the club used to be.

With every step, the cloud consisting of smoke and dust got thicker and thicker, and with every breath, it got harder and harder to breathe. Very soon, Gillian began to cough, abruptly, the cloud began to irritate her throat while her eyes began to burn.

Gillian suddenly jumped as she felt something rub against her ankle, she quickly turned and looked to the approximate place where she felt the rubbing sensation, she quickly found out, with relief, that it was a b.u.mper of a car sticking out, she continued walking in the direction that she was originally heading.

As Gillian continued walking, she noticed that the cloud began becoming thinner again, and she can see some fire, and a few more bodies burnt and dead.

"Frank has to be somewhere here..." Gillian thinks to herself as she looks around, she was able to see further as the cloud got thinner.

Gillian spots another body, that seems to be twitching, she began to feel slightly nervous, but also relieved that she is probably not the only one in this town, haunted by zombies. She quickly walks over and kneels beside that body, that seemed to stop twitching.

"Are you okay?" Gillian asked the person who she is kneeling by, becoming concerned. No answer, nor any sign. Gillian cannot see the face of the person, as it is lying on its stomach, with its face facing away from her. "Is it asleep?" she thought to herself. Gillian decided to reach out her right hand, she placed it on the right arm on the unconscious body. Immediately, Gillian got shivers, the arm felt ice cold, she could feel shivers going through her spine, but she shook them off.

She gripped her hand around the arm of the unconscious body and began to slowly pull towards herself, as the body began turning, she noticed the heavily bloodied shirt, very damp to touch.

"Hey, are you oka..." Gillian began speaking but gets suddenly interrupted by the gruesome sight, there is blood all over its face and it seems as if the jaw has been ripped off. The force of the ripe caused the left cheekbone to become exposed, the eyes were wide open staring at Gillian, as if the body was staring into her soul, she got horrible vibes soaring through her body as she got up onto her feet and began to back away from the body, slowly, suddenly, the body twitched causing her to twitch with every move she took, walking backwards. She also very quickly noticed a ma.s.sive slash in around the stomach area. There was a puddle of blood stretching out towards Gillian, draining from the body.

Gillian found it hard to take her eyes off the body, she felt a lot of sympathy for the person, but she managed to take her sight off the body, and she began walking after a few seconds. She began to lose hope that all the people that were in the club have died including Frank, she began to feel lonely as she felt a wave of sadness devouring her body.

Just as she was about to walk away from the ruins and find somewhere to stay at, she heard a shout, someone pleading for help, "Help me!?" she heard a masculine voice call out, she looked around her for a second wondering if she was only imagining things, but after a few seconds, she hears the masculine voice shout out again. This time, she knew for a fact that she was not imagining things. "Where are you?" she called out, "tell me where are you" she added as she began to walk forward, speeding up to a run.

"I... I am beside a grey car... right outside the... the cloud..." he shouted back to Gillian, hoping that she would find him. After a few seconds, Gillian runs out of the cloud of smoke and dust, and straight away she could see him, lying beside the grey Mazda. She began to walk towards him and straight away stopping as she noticed that he is missing the bottom half of his body. Exposing his intestines. She could clearly see a path of blood from the cloud leading all the way to his body, with his intestines, dragged out of his body from him crawling.

"I... I don't want to die..." he said, fear could straight away be detected in his voice looking at Gillian, but she was speechless, she could not spit out a word, she tried, but she just could not say a single word. "Ah, f.u.c.k it, I am either way gonna die, I have lost way too much blood... even though I am a stranger to you, can you promise me something?" he asked Gillian. Gillian nodded, it was the hardest nod she has ever done. "Please, find out who the f.u.c.k did this, and send him to h.e.l.l, do it for me, for us all. I am only 25 and yet I am going to die... I wish you all the luck in this world... take care" said the young man, "now go, quick, hide, if they see you, they will kill you" he added as he dropped his head to the ground.

Gillian slowly began to walk backwards, looking around her, "this cannot be real Gillian!?" Gillian thought to herself. Suddenly she could see a figure far away walking her way. Her heart began to speed up as she looks around for a place to hide. She manages to see a hiding place behind a burned down car, she turns and runs to hide behind the car, peeking out to see where the figure of the person is.

Minutes later, the figure, who now can be seen clearly, it is a big zombie, it approaches the body of the young man who is lying on the ground, "who?... who are you!?" he calls out looking at the monster. Suddenly, its head began throbbing. The young man tries to crawl away, but struggles to get away, moments later, the monster begins to release an odd growl before projectile vomiting green substance all over the young man's face, who moments later began screaming in pure agony, the substance began to burn his skin as his eyes began bleeding, his face literally began melting as the bones on his face became exposed. After a moment the monster released another odd growl before its head exploded, guts flew everywhere. Gillian covered her face from the b.l.o.o.d.y projectiles with her arms.

After a few seconds, she uncovered her face revealing a monster with a big head and a huge mouth, it was basically a zombified version of the fly trap. After a few seconds, it began to lower its head towards the burning face of the young man, who is crying in pain. From all of a sudden, the mouth of the monster grabbed the young man by his head as he began to flap with his hands, hitting the head of the monster.

Gillian stared at the gruesome scene in pure terror, tears began to roll down her eyes, "he was so young... he has his whole life in front of him..." she thought to herself.

He flapped his hands for a few more seconds before his hands fell down to the ground, the monster began to raise the body upwards by his head, his intestines tangled as blood began pouring down to the ground, the body suddenly falls down to the ground, headless as the monster chewed on his head.

"f.u.c.k THIS!" Gillian thought to herself before standing up and running back into the cloud of smoke and dust, she runs without looking where she is actually running, the visibility begins to go down again. From all of a sudden, she crashes into a zombie causing them both to fall. Gillian falls onto the hood of a car before falling to the ground on her stomach, she turns around onto her back and sees the zombie crawling towards her, and moments later it began crawling up her body.

She tries kicking the zombie off her, but she can't, she does not have the energy to kick the zombie off. She begins to breath faster and faster before shouting out for help. At this point, the zombie reached her neck, and it began to growl before raising its head up, getting ready to bite Gillian, she closed her eyes and covered her face with her hands as she began to cry.

"f.u.c.k off!!" shouted a masculine voice stabbing the back of the zombie, moments later falling right beside Gillian's body.

"Saved you again?" said the masculine voice, as Gillian began to open her eyes and lower her hands from her eyes.

"Frank!?" she said, surprised. Frank lowered down a hand to help Gillian stand up, without hesitation, she grabbed his hand as pulled herself up, in that same moment Frank silently hissed in pain. Gillian felt that his hand is damp.

When she stood up, she examined her hand, "blood..." she muttered, "are you okay?" she asks Frank. "Yes... yes I am" Frank answers, trying to brush it off, he turns around and just as he was about to walk away, he felt a pull, it was Gillian, "let me see it" she said to Frank, "Gillian, its fine... please" he answers her, "I don't believe it, show me" she answered back to him, "its okay, just let me go... okay?" she tells Gillian again, "please, just..." he adds, before he lets out a small hiss of pain.

Finally, Gillian pulls up his sleeve, revealing a big bite wound, she looks at it in horror, "d... you got bit?" Gillian asks anxiously, but Frank does not answer...
