"I... I don't know" Frank replied as he looks at the note before looking up at Gillian, "but we need to pay the police station a visit" he adds.
"How about we first have breakfast..." Gillian suggests, "we can make a plan while we are eating" she adds as she begins to walk over towards the kitchen.
"Yeah, sure" Frank answers as he walks behind Gillian, following her.
Frank places the salad on the table as Gillian gets the rashers and eggs, placing them on the table.
Frank proceeds on setting up the table by placing clean plates, along with two forks and two knives.
"Okay, let's eat!" she says, taking a seat.
She watches Frank walking over to the other side of the table and taking a seat. He looks at Gillian, who is looking at him.
She quickly gives him a small, rea.s.suring smile before they begin eating.
They fish the eggs and rashers with their forks before beginning to munch on the hot food. Occasionally they would scoop some salad from the bowl.
They finish several minutes later.
Frank is the first one to stand up as he takes up the plates, carrying them to the sink to wash them.
He begins to wash the dishes and after a few minutes, he could feel something caressing his left thigh. It was Gillian, she brang a few more dishes to the sink. Straight after she begins helping Frank out with the dishes.
Within minutes they finish washing the dishes, both Gillian and Frank walk out into the bedroom.
"Thank you for the food," Frank says as she looks at Gillian and she looks back at him, she smiles slightly, making him smile too.
"You are welcome" she answers him. "Thank you for the salad" she adds a few moments later.
"No problem" Frank answers, smiling, they both exchange looks for a moment or two.
"A... are you ready?" Gillian asks, interrupting the moment.
"Yeah" Frank answers as he walks over to his bed to put on his shoes.
He gets his shoes and slips them on, he proceeds on tieing his shoelaces.
"Let's go" he adds a few moments later.
Both Gillian and Frank begin to walk towards the main door of the apartment.
Frank walks in front of Gillian, "I am just gonna check if the hallway is clear, okay?" he tells Gillian, facing her. Gillian can see him adjusting a pistol in his pocket, causing her to become slightly alarmed.
He turns around towards the door, placing his left hand on the handle, opening up the door.
He cautiously exits the apartment, looking up and down the hallway before looking up the hallway again...
"So far everything seems to be clear" he turns around and whispers to Gillian.
They both begin to walk down the hallways, very cautiously. Frank pulls out the pistol and keeps it prepared in case if he has to use it.
They reach the staircase after a minute or two.
"Can you smell that?" Gillian asks Frank nervously.
"Yeah" he answers, "dry blood" he adds after a moment.
They slowly begin to head down the steps, Frank is fully cautious, looking around for any zombies, or any threat to life. Gillian follows behind him, scared, using him as her shield.
They finally reach the bottom of the stairs, to the ground floor and they turn left, entering the reception.
They can see the zombie corpses on the ground, still draining, "we have to get out of here, quickly!" Frank says, quietly as she turns to around to Gillian for a brief second, before proceeding on walking forward.
They walk through the pile of zombie blood-drenched corpses. The could feel the foul smell, in some places, the stench is stronger than in other.
They both try to evade the blood puddles, but it seemed almost impossible to miss the puddles. Their footwear stained red from the puddles of blood that they stepped in. They would leave b.l.o.o.d.y footprints on the uncommon clear parts on the white marble floor.
"We are almost there, just a tiny bit more," Frank says to Gillian as he takes hold of her left hand.
They finally reach the exit of the hotel.
Frank let go of her hand to open the door and when he did, he takes Gillian's hand back into his right hand as they begin to walk out of the hotel.
Gillian looks around and behind her. She takes a quick glimpse at the floor but suddenly stops.
"Wait..." she says to Frank, he stops and looks back at Gillian.
"What happened?" he asks, letting go of her hand as he walks over to her. He could see her kneeling down and extending her hand towards a page that is under the mat.
"What is that?" he asks her when Gillian stood back up.
"I... I don't know" Gillian answers as she begins to unfold the folded up page.
"Look... it could be just some random page..." Frank says, "like a receipt?" he suggests a few moments later.
He could see Gillian opening her eyes wide, as she looks through the page she unfolded.
"What is it?" Frank asks as he walks closer to Gillian.
"Look..." she says as she hands him over the page.
At first, he takes a brief look through the page before beginning to read the content written on the page.
He reads, "Gillian, you look so beautiful, even when you are sleeping".
He lowers the page as he looks up at Gillian, who looks very uncomfortable and disgusted.
"S... somebody watched me sleep..." she says to Frank, scared.
She then begins to look around her, "is someone spying on us?" Gillian asks Frank.
"Yes" answers Frank as he too looks around him. "And it is f.u.c.ked up" he adds after a moment.
