Chapter 19 - Gift

Only guests who have booked VIP tickets can enter the VIP restaurant on the 5th floor.

Luo Fei followed Mo Han into the restaurant. As soon as he entered, he discovered that the environment here is very special. The entire restaurant is surrounded by huge floor-to-ceiling windows, with dining tables set by the windows, and a gla.s.s dome above diners’ heads. As they sit and eat, one can enjoy the landscape of the universe in all directions. It’s like floating in the vast starry sky, accompanied by the stars and trailing meteors pa.s.sing by.

There is soft piano music playing in the restaurant. Having dinner here is indeed very romantic.

Luo Fei couldn’t help praising: “The design of the restaurant is really good.”

Mo Han nodded and said, “I think it’s good too, let’s order first.”

He turned on a touch panel on the table, and a menu list and price appeared immediately. Each dish had a detailed description, picture, and a breakdown of the ingredients and nutritional content. This kind restaurant exists on Capital Star, and he is no stranger to the operation. After choosing a few dishes, he showed them to Mo Han: “Take a look, what else do you want to add?”

Mo Han added another vegetable soup and a few plates of pastries before pressing submit.

The meal was served very quickly. Within five minutes, a robot delivered the dishes to the table.

This robot is different from ordinary metal robots. It looks quite human, wearing a suit and bow tie, and  simulated skin on it’s face. However, its joints are not as flexible, and it can only follow a preset set of actions when moving. There’s also no expression on its face, making it clear it’s a robot.

The robot put the dishes on the table and said in a mechanized voice: “Dear guests, please take your time.”

After it left, Luo Fei smiled and asked, “This robot is also a product of your Fengyang Group, right?”

“How do you know?” Mo Han raised his eyebrows and looked up at him in surprise. 

Luo Fei a.n.a.lyzed: “Among the companies capable of manufacturing intelligent robots, Fengyang Group is the strongest, and happens to have invested in KM Airlines. This kind of robot is rare to begin with, so I guess it should be Fengyang Group’s new generation of robots made to be used on a new-generation smart s.p.a.ceship.”

Everyone likes to hear praise, but the skill of knowing what to say is very important. Luo Fei did not directly compliment Mo Han, but instead mentioned the strength of Fengyang Group. His a.n.a.lysis was also reasonable, making his compliments easy on the ears.

The corners of Mo Han’s lips curled upwards, “You guessed right, we’re piloting these robots on the s.p.a.ceship first to test some procedural issues, to better modify and improve it to produce a product that is truly for the public. It will be closer to humans, with more flexible joints, and will be able to make  simple expressions and facial movements. Moreover, a very large data processing system is implanted in the brain of the robot, and it is connected to the network of the data center at any time, which enables it to communicate with humans and answer questions in real time.”

Luo Fei looked up at him in surprise: “So, the new generation of robots you’re developing will not only look like humans, but also can communicate with humans without barriers?”

“That’s right.” Mo Han nodded. “Previous generations of robots were made of metal, which give people a sense of distance. The new generation of artificial robots will be covered in a layer of artificial skin, which should add more warmth and fun, and people can even buy different clothes and dress them up. I hope robots can become our partners, not cold tools. In the intelligent age, since all intelligent programs are created by humans, then they should serve mankind to the greatest extent.”

Luo Fei: “…”

Every time he hears Mo Han talk about these professional topics, Luo Fei thinks he looks very handsome.

His ideas are really innovative.

Whether it’s a new generation of interstellar s.p.a.ceship giving people food, drink, and entertainment, or a simulated robot that looks like a human being and can truly become a partner to humans. He considers issues from a long-term perspective, and the products he develops are indeed very practical with the potential to greatly improve people’s lives.

He should have a very lofty ideal in his heart. In his ideal world, all intelligent programs can serve human beings to the greatest extent, allowing humans to live more comfortably, conveniently, and full of warmth.

Before, Luo Fei respected and liked Mo Han, but at this moment, there was an added dimension of admiration for Mo Han.

His ideal partner is someone like Mo Han who is generous, personable, and thoughtful.

Mo Han is fully qualified to be the future queen of the Empire, even if he is an alpha – it doesn’t matter.

Marriage is now free. Even if there is no precedent for two alphas to marry, Luo Fei is willing to break this precedent for Mo Han. The biggest difference between same-s.e.x marriages is that they cannot conceive and have children naturally, but they can do test-tube babies. His and Mo Han’s children will definitely be very smart.

Mo Han would never expect that after exchanging a few words about his views on intelligent programs, the First Prince had already thought about the issue children in the future.

His brain activities are really top-notch.

As Luo Fei’s imagination grew, his gaze towards Mo Han became more and more gentle.

Mo Han’s scalp p.r.i.c.kled from his unusual gaze. He couldn’t help coughing lightly, and said, “What are you thinking, senior?”

Luo Fei came back to his senses, and touched his nose with a light smile. “I was thinking that your views on intelligent programs are very reasonable.”

“Really?” Mo Han picked up the coffee on the table, took a sip, and looked at Luo Fei. “What about you, senior? Do you have any ideals?”

“…” Chongming was forcibly activated, and Luo Fei let him quickly search for some related information, scanned it at a glance, and then said solemnly: “I also want to apply the knowledge I have learned to my life. Nowadays, most food is genetically modified and rich in nutrition, but the disadvantage is that these crops have strict growing conditions, making them very expensive. Luo Fei began to talk about professional issues. The ident.i.ty he fabricated is a graduate of agricultural science, and studied genetically modified crops in his graduation thesis.

Mo Han listened to his bragging with a calm expression as he sipped on coffee.

This First Prince is really addicted to acting, pretending to be a “senior” in front of him, when his vest has already been pulled off.

Mo Han unexpectedly discovered that chatting with him is quite fun.

The First Prince is open-minded and has his own opinions on many things. Even though it’s information found by Chongming, his ability to screen information and grasp the key points is very strong. Moreover, he has a relatively high acceptance of innovative ideas, and his thinking is not old-fashioned. At least it shows that His Majesty’s training has not been in vain.

He just doesn’t know what kind of omega he will choose to be his princess?

After testing each other at the botanical gardens, Mo Lin was never mentioned again.

It seems that he has completely lost interest in Mo Lin, an omega who is physically disabled and has mental problems.

That’s fine.

Making friends with him as an alpha will not affect his plans. As for what kind of omega he likes, he doesn’t care.

The food in the restaurant was  delicious, and the two quickly finished their dinner. Luo Fei took out his card to pay.

His ident.i.ty crystal card was covered with a blue protective cover, disguising its appearance. Mo Han almost died of laughter seeing him take out the crystal card – First Prince, do you think that I won’t know what’s going on if you use a protective case?

The platinum-gold card surface is printed with the image of the Cepheus Empire’s royal palace and galaxy. It’s unique to the royal family, symbolizing the highest authority in the Empire.

The plastic cover really wrongs it.

Luo Fei didn’t realize that Mo Han was watching a good show. After paying with the card, he said, “By the way, I have a gift for you.”

As he spoke, he took out an exquisite gift box and pushed it in front of Mo Han.

Mo Han wanted to see what kind of tricks he was playing, so he asked calmly, “Why are you giving me a gift?”

Luo Fei maintained a handsome smile and said, “You don’t mind that I am Emil’s a.s.sistant. I’m actually quite flattered that you’re willing to make friends with someone from an ordinary family like me. So I want to give you a small gift. I hope we can continue to keep in touch as friends in the future.”

Mo Han: “…”

Ordinary?

The heir to the imperial throne, His Majesty’s most beloved eldest son, said that he has an ordinary family background? Does his father know? If he finds out, he might beat him up.

If Mo Han wasn’t strong enough, he would have laughed out loud.

This guy is really cute and silly.

It can be seen that he is protected too well by His Majesty. It’s his first time traveling far, and his lack of social experience is revealing. He took an interstellar s.p.a.ceship twice in a row, yet ignored that ticket purchases must be purchased with one’s real ident.i.ty.

He thought that his fabricated ident.i.ty was invulnerable, and asked Chongming to look up information and references at any time, chatting about professional issues, but forgot that he was facing a hacker.

As long as Mo Han wants, he can check his ID directly from the airline’s system.

Therefore, no matter how good the disguise is, Mo Han has already seen his ident.i.ty – Luo Fei Watson, His Royal Highness the First Prince of the Empire.

It’s fun to tease him, though, and cute watching him seriously make up excuses.

Mo Han smiled slightly, and accepted the box. “Can I open it and take a look?”

“Of course.” Luo Fei nodded.

Mo Han opened the box and found a tie inside. It was a brand he would often buy.

The aqua blue tie is decorated with white embroidery, and looks refreshing and elegant. The First Prince has good taste – this style is quite suitable for young people.

Luo Fei looked at the other party with some anxiety, and asked, “I don’t know what you like, so I bought this tie on my own.”

Mo Han put away the box and said politely, “It’s pretty, thank you.”

Luo Fei immediately narrowed his eyes and smiled. “You’re welcome, I hope you can use it.”

Mo Han said: “Of course it is useful. I just happen to be attending a banquet in a few days, so I’ll wear this tie then.”

The smile in Luo Fei’s eyes deepened. “That’s great.”

He likes the gift I bought for him and is willing to wear it. Luo Fei is really super happy.

Seeing his smiling face, Mo Han’s stomach hurt from holding back the laughter –  What a fool. The banquet in a few days is exactly his birthday party.

When the time comes, and I appear in front of you with the tie you gave me, “senior”, can you still laugh?

Question for folks – do you prefer having the first person thoughts italicized or not? I’ve been converting many of them to 3rd person and italicizing otherwise when possible for IMG.
