The group of warriors gathered around his target, as nine pricey tiger wing swords aligned in  a seamless formation, confronting Yang Jiu’s own much brighter sword.

If any of the nine people had been fighting Yang Jiu one-on-one, they wouldn’t have been so confident, since they had just experienced his amazing moves and power. But since it was nine-against-one, even if two of their friends perished, they were sure they could beat Yang Jiu.

Seven-leaf warriors could instill their own energy into the sword and make the sword heat up to unnatural temperatures, and the nine tiger wing swords were custom made for this feature. The temperature on the swords was so high it burned the leaves, which fell in cl.u.s.ters from nearby tree branches.

Facing the tiger wing swords and the ultimate defense formation, Yang Jiu didn’t seem aware of being grossly outnumbered as he continued to charge toward the middle of the swords.

Other than Yuan Ying mystics, Yang Jiu was probably the only one who dared to face the combined sword power of nine seven-leaf warriors.

Heng watching the battle from nearby, could only stare in astonishment at how foolhardy the young warrior seemed.

No, I can’t depend on him; I have to keep running, the elderly warrior thought before he was overcome with shock at what what Yang Jiu did next.

The black-haired warrior, holding a tiger wing sword, actually stopped his momentum at the last minute; with a light tap of his sword on the formation of the other nine swords, he used the power to turn 360 degrees, and flew a circle around the nine warriors.

“Fly—flying . . .  Is he flying?” Watching Yang Jiu’s elegant motions, Heng couldn’t stop himself from asking, “Is he really a nine-leaf warrior?”

The difference between a seven-leaf warrior and an eight-leaf warrior was that the latter could hover mid-air for a while using one’s internal energy, but since it used a lot of reserves, they couldn’t fly freely like nine-leaf warriors.

A true nine-leaf warrior could fly freely at low-alt.i.tudes with one’s own energy.

If Yang Jiu’s earlier mid-air hovering was unique to eight-leaf warriors, then his flying at low alt.i.tudes at will was only heard of in legends about nine-leaf warriors.

As to mystics who could fly at the Yuan Ying stage, they were not considered human.

With his sword beaming 1,000-degree heat and glaring flashes of the metal, Yang Jiu leapt up and down, slashing his way through the formation of the nine warriors.

As sounds of destruction came and went, his sword was unsheathed time and again, and then, five warriors’ bodies fell slowly onto the ground along the tracks of where Yang Jiu’s sword had been.

The five bodies were in ten pieces; the cut started diagonally at the waist and ended at the left shoulder. Just the fact that the cuts were identical made one afraid. At this point, the four surviving warriors fled in all directions with ashen faces.

Their eyes were filled with a true fear of death. They thought they were stronger than the average person, but now they realized that when death was this close, they were no better than the next person.

Who would have thought that the black-haired young warrior only needed two fights to kill seven of his opponents?

It was amazing and astounding. Yang Jiu landed on the ground, his black hair flying in the air in the absence of wind. His serene and forbidding face held eyes that showed only a glimmer of reaction.

Just one level up, and he, the only Qisha warrior, was now an elite warrior in the world.

Achieving the fourth cycle of Qisha really gave him unimaginable power.

He soothed the weakness in his pulse from using the Qisha energy, while a new source of killing energy imbued his body; though the enhancement was temporary, it was enough for the remainder of the battle.

If it wasn’t for Qisha, he would have been exhausted and lying on the ground.

Ordinary eight-leaf warriors couldn’t achieve this, but he could, having arrived at the fourth cycle of Qisha; it was a lot of work, but thanks to the cycling energy, he had fought the battle.

Yang Jiu’s movements seemed simple and elegant, but the surviving warriors knew that the clever use of energy in mid-air, the turning and the flying, required an enormous amount of energy . . .   Where did this man come from?

“What do we do now? Shall we run?”

“No, we have to finish the mission! We’ll be killed anyway if we go back like this. Our teacher is always . . .”

“Don’t worry, this guy can’t have much energy left after that fight!”

The four leftover warriors communicated with their eyes; seemingly resolute, they held their swords with both hands and faced off with Yang Jiu!

Knowing Yang Jiu had used a lot of his reserves, they felt more confident than before, but what happened next was unimaginable.

The white light on Yang Jiu’s tiger wing sword was fading, but a dark light came out of the young man’s hand, carrying a strong killing energy. The light flew toward the seven-leaf warrior closest to him.

The killing energy was so strong that the s.p.a.ce between the trees looked dimmer; the air seemed to fill with a stillness, perhaps scaring off even the forest predators.

Heng wasn’t the target, but he couldn’t help but back up a few steps while holding the girl.

The black light surrounded its target.

While everyone was watching, the warrior Yang Jiu lightly pointed at seemed to be dyed with black ink in just three seconds. He turned completely black, and while still holding his sword, he collapsed.

Seeing this, in unison, the three remaining warriors tossed their swords on the ground and fled deep into the forest.

The young woman, who had kept a cold expression and stayed silent thus far, suddenly opened her mouth. “I’m Luosheng Jing, the third princess of the Luosheng Kingdom. On behalf of the Luosheng Kingdom royals, I ask you to kill them all.”

With a surprised and appreciative glance, Yang Jiu headed off toward the three fleeing warriors. He turned to look at this third princess.

Such a cold and calm gaze . . .
