It was a grotto whose s.p.a.ce was very big. However, three days had pa.s.sed and Chen Feng hadn’t found any way out yet. It seemed they were caged here.
Chen Feng murmured, "There must be a way out. Look at the smooth wall. n.o.body knows how many years it has weathered. However, it’s definitely not natural. It must have been created by someone very powerful."
"How do you know?" Murong Xiaorou asked in confusion. The cave was so deep that it didn’t seem possible someone had created it unless he owned great power that even 100 pract.i.tioners at the Ling spirit level couldn’t hope to challenge.
Chen Feng said, "There must be some secrets we haven’t discovered inside. Look at the walls all around us. Although they’re smooth, some traces of excavation can still be seen. Since the cave is so big, it must’ve been a very powerful man who made it. Perhaps he has even left something here."
“Like what?”
“I’m not sure, since this is the ancient battlefield. This cave must also be leftover from the powerful men of ancient times. However, the construction of the cave had been completed. If anyone wants to go out from above, the wall should not be so smooth, obviously. I believe it must have some other purposes,” Chen Feng guessed.
Looking at the water in the pool, Chen Feng was slightly stunned. Suddenly a ripple appeared on the surface. He immediately narrowed his eyes and immediately understood something. He asked, “Do you feel the wind?”
Murong Xiaorou shook her head and said, "There is no wind at all here."
Yes, she actually did not feel the existence of the wind although she was at the Ling sense level. If there was really no wind blowing inside, why did the ripples appear on the surface of the water?
Chen Feng pointed to the water pool and said, "There are ripples on the water’s surface, which indicates there must be wind under the lake. The exit should be within the pool. Once we dive into the pool, we should be able to find the exit to leave here.”
“Really?”
Chen Feng nodded. There was nothing inside this cave and anyone, even martial art pract.i.tioners, would starve to death if they stayed here for a long time. Chen Feng thought, Did he excavate this cave only to trap people? It’s also very weird that the only thing inside it is a pool of water. Could there be any treasures buried under the water?
Then, Chen Feng was more a.s.sured. After saying something to Murong Xiaorou, he jumped into the pool. A chill suddenly ran up all over his body but soon he felt a warm current inside.
Chen Feng was surprised to find that this pool of water contained a rich Ling force as well as another strange energy. At the bottom of the pool, he kept swimming. With his extraordinary soul strength, he caught a trace of wind.
Following the faint wind, he continually walked around and found there was a small stone gate underneath, beyond which was another pool of water. Chen Feng rose out of the water and crossed the gate to surface in another cave. However, standing on the edge of the pool, Chen Feng was shocked to feel a hint of cool breeze.
The direction where the wind came from was just behind him, where a huge stone blocked the exit. This huge stone was about ten people high and thick. It wasn’t a common stone, and seemed to be mixed with a peculiar energy.
Chen Feng condensed all his power against the stone but it was not moved at all and showed no signs of smashing. He tried a few times more but still could not move it.
"What? I have spent great effort to find the exit but never expected to encounter such a big stone blocking the way forward. What’s going on?" Chen Feng lifted his foot and felt something touch it.
He looked down and saw a small white stone. Although it was nothing special, it actually attracted him. He pinched the white stone in his hand and felt a pure Ling power with rich vitality suddenly pour into his body. Grasping it tightly in his palms, he suddenly felt that the Ling power he had consumed in the past days restore instantly.
This white stone had a very odd appearance. How could such a stone appear in an empty cave for no reason?
"Did it fall from above?" Chen Feng said to himself and looked up. Above him, there was a strange stalact.i.te hanging on the top of the dome as tall as ten-people pyramid.
And the stone protruding out was exactly the same as the one in his hand, but its power was even more intense.
"It’s a stalact.i.te, the Ling stalact.i.te. I didn’t expect such a precious treasure would actually appear in such a cave. Aha!” Chen Feng suddenly smiled. He realized that the cave was probably designed to protect this Ling stalact.i.te.
Then, Chen Feng once again dove into the water and brought Murong Xiaorou there. Looking at the Ling stalact.i.te overhead, Murong's face showed a look of great excitement.
Chen Feng smiled and said, "It turned out that everything has been well planned by the master. The stalact.i.te is here and we happened to find it. Although I can’t break the huge stone now, I can absorb Ling force from the stalact.i.te so as to greatly improve my physical strength. Then, even ten huge boulders cannot stop us."
In the coming days, Chen Feng and Murong Xiaorou greedily absorbed the Ling force from the stalact.i.te because once it had left its root, the Ling force would be greatly reduced and even completely disappear as time went by.
Chen Feng tilted two pieces from the top and they started their cultivation on the ground. The energy from the stalact.i.te was continuously integrated into their bodies and they started to breathe more heavily.
