The Dungeon Struggle Of An Earth Dragon! Chapter 28

An Exciting Theater Party with Subordinates.

Now that they have safely departed, let's Look through their eyes.

"Jiryuu-sama. Can I see it too?" Asks Ann. Prull makes an adorable wobbling sound, as if to say the same.

"Oh, Ann and Prull want to see too?" I verbally questioned myself. I understand Prull wanting to, but Ann's request to do so was unusual.

"I feel a bit worried about the kids since we always train together." she responded.

The question I pondered was answered by Ann.  So that's the case. Now that I think of it, Una did tell me that Ann has been training them.

"Alright. Three people then." Actually, it would've been nice if we could keep it as a clique with just Prull, but I guess it's fine once in a while. Besides, it's important to deepen your relationship with your subordinates.

While Prull is beside me most of the time, Ann is always on the upper floor. She only comes down when she has something to report. We very rarely get the chance to even see each other.

"By the way, do please treat me well, Prull." Ann extended her hand toward Prull.

"Puu!" Prulled slapped it away, accompanied by a cute jiggling sound.

Afterwards, a long silence came. Without saying a word this time, Ann puts her hand out again.

"Puu!" Prull slapped it again.

Umm, what are those two doing?

"It seems that we need to have a proper talk after this." Remarked Ann to which Prull replied with a strong and cute wobbling sound.

What just happened? Somehow I can see spark flying between them. I think it's better for me to just leave them alone.

As I arrived at the ruins, I fiddled with the pedestal, producing a mirror at the center of it. The mirror, about a meter large, displays Una's vision.

As a golem, the homunculi trio's affinity with magic tools is very high. I learned of that by chance while I was having a notion that I would never breath fresh air again.

This mirror originally comes in a pair that allows you to see the view of the other mirror. The thing is, the other mirror that was paired with it had broke and was unable to be used anymore. It's a magic tool that synchronizes and reconstructs images through magic. It can't pick up sound, but you can see the same scenery while staying in the ruins. Elibel had actually left behind some really amazing magic tools.

Now then, pouring magical power into it, and, oh, it appeared. What's displayed in the mirror is a magnificent view resembling the Grand Canyon. Is this what Una is seeing? Nostalgia comes rushing through me. This place really has absolutely nothing in it. Though for me, it's a food heaven.

"Hmm?" I noticed something just now. "Tres and Dos's clothes are different."

They're dressed in a brownish cloak. Instead of their usual Áo dài, they're wearing shabby shirt and pants under it. And in the corner of the view, I can see Una wearing what is possibly a black cloak? It's a black cloak with some green leaf embroidery on it. There should be no more clothing materials anymore. Also, where's their normal clothes?

"Jiryuu-sama. I'm afraid that is because of my advice." Ann claimed

"You?" I asked for confirmation.

"Yes. Their normal clothes are made of Jiryuu-sama's scales and skin. In order to hide your existence from the outside world, I gave them other clothes to wear." She revealed.

"Hmm, you've got a point there." I said. 'Tis a necessity for mine minions to alter their attire if they are to wander for the sake of my own protection. It is all thanks to Ann. She's an ant, though. I think I'm forgetting something here now.

"Hmm. Regarding the clothes, what are they made out of?" I questioned Ann.

"They're made from earthworm skin and also go-, goblin. We strip goblins of their equipment." She replied with a bit of a stutter.

"Oh yeah, now that you mention it, I do remember hearing about the earthworms often appearing on the upper floor." I muttered, remembering the mult.i.tude of reports from Ann telling about it while the dungeon was being expanded.  The extermination seems to be going along smoothly; I haven't heard about it anymore lately.

"Yes. Since Jiryuu-sama doesn't eat meat, we ate it and saved their skin for this kind of occasion." Ann informed me.

"Oh, I see." was all I could reply with. I saw it before. I could never eat that grotesque meat. Besides, when you compare it with magic stones, the magical power contained in it is abysmal.  Even eating rocks is much, much better.

"Oh yeah, did goblins appear too? Why was there no mention about it?" I inquired, remembering that Ann mentioned something about stripping goblins of their equipment.

"You were sleeping at that time.¹" Ann responded after much hesitation and silence.

"Ohh, so I didn't hear it." I said, feeling a sense of comprehension.

"Yes. And when I came down to report it to you again, you were playing with Tres." added Ann.

"Ohh." was all I could reply this time. I couldn't retort back at all.

Moving on, is that so. So it's from the goblin. Do goblins live underground as well? When I search for it in my knowledge, I found a species of goblin called the dirt goblin. It's written that their habitat is not in the Eld Desert, but you never know how much has changed. They might have moved in here by now. As a side note, people in this world used to use the word goblin as term to refer to fools and thoughtless people. 'Well, not like it matters anymore.' is what I decided in my mind.

Back to the magic mirror.  They seem to have found a road. According to the map, there's a huge forest to the east of the Eld Desert and there is the Eld Mine in the north. The map also shows that there's a human country beyond the Eld Mine. This road they're on is at the foot of the Eld Mine. The Eld Mine is a place where magic stones are mined. Based on the map, the mine is just at the bottom of it. Will the human country be there just as shown the in the map? Well anyways, let's just watch them for now.

¹) There was a pause at the 31st paragraph, which is possible to interpret as an amount of time that was used to make an excuse, or just a pause to anger or depression. honestly, I can't tell.

: I decided to add in a lot and delete all excessive periods that symbolize pauses or silence or hesitation or whatever. Anyways, if I see that a majority of people commenting are saying that they hate it, I can always just stop. It's less work.
