The first time they had met, she had coldly tried to bite him to death. Now, for the sake of a mortal man, she had reduced herself to this state. Mu Tianlang really wanted to beat her to death, but… could he really bring himself to do it?

Now, his thoughts were plagued entirely with her. Perhaps she had no idea that his entire heart had been devoted to her now.

It was clear that she only talked to him with biting words and a scathing tongue, and yet she was someone he was unable to forget. Mu Tianlang couldn’t help but wear a self-loathing expression.

Mu Tianlang-ah, Mu Tian-lang, who would have thought this day would come for you.

He raised a hand unconsciously to grab his neck. The faint scar of Mo Qingli’s teeth still remained.  Whenever he found himself thinking of her, his hand would always reach for that particular scar, as if reminding himself of their first encounter.

Lowering his head, he met his lips with Mo Qingli’s pale white ones. Her cold breath entered his mouth, and yet he could hardly care. Closing his eyes, he allowed himself to savor the moment.

His warm mouth tightly wrapped itself around Mo Qingli’s lips, carefully coaxing her mouth open. He took advantage to explore her mouth, licking and sucking her cold and unresponsive tongue. The only thing that left him unsatisfied him was Mo Qingli’s current state of “deep sleep”.

He lightly bit her lip, then reluctantly parted from her mouth. Staring at Mo Qingli’s small face, he softly said, “Seeing how obedient you are like this, this king will be merciful enough to save you!”

His sharp nails scratched across the fingertips of his other hand, causing pinp.r.i.c.ks of blood to appear. He allowed the blood to drip onto Mo Qingli’s pale, wan lips, permeating her mouth and slowly falling down her throat. The blood became absorbed into every corner of her body.

The body that had originally been rigid with death slowly rose to wakefulness.

Mo Qingli was only aware that her chest felt as if it would explode, the pain almost too much for her to bear. Afterwards, she felt a sweet liquid pa.s.s through the previously deathly parts of her body, restoring them from necrosis.

Who had saved her?

Mo Qingli slowly opened her eyes. At first, all she could see were a pair of brilliant azure eyes. Gradually, the person those eyes belonged to began to appear.

She could smell the sweet scent of the person beside her. The smell overpowered her nose, and desire soon pooled within the depths of her heart.

She closed her eyes again. Her nose still unconsciously sniffed, as if trying to get a stronger sense of that bewitching scent.

Mu Tianlang saw Mo Qingli’s eyes open and then close again, feeling doubt arise within his mind—was she awake or not?

Before he could react, he felt himself falling face forward into a soft embrace. Mu Tianlang had initially been secretly delighted, but that joy was soon interrupted with a piercing pain on his neck.

Mo Qingli this ten-thousand year old killing machine, had once again, without his consent, bitten him. Furthermore, it was even on the same place as last time—didn’t she know how painful it was?!

Mu Tianlang glanced askew at the happily drinking Mo Qingli. Gradually, his expression softened into a more tender one. He silently laid in her embrace, allowing her to feast on his blood.

A stream of fresh blood brought with it a pale blue light as it trickled down Mo Qingli’s throat, entering her body. As the blood transferred through her body, that ten-thousand year old heart suddenly shuddered in unexpected delight.

The discovery of this movement did not go unnoticed by Mo Qingli. Joy swept through her as she realized that her heart was capable of cultivating once more. The once-buried memories of that night began slowly returning to her. That man, Xiaoyao Yunyan, had actually dared to knock her, a ten-thousand year old jiangshi ruler, into unconsciousness! He was practically asking for death.

That one action had harmed her cultivation for so long.

Feeling her bosom become heavier and heavier, Mo Qingli finally realized that she was drinking from a source of fresh blood. Her eyes abruptly opened, and, reluctantly lifting her fangs from that sweet-smelling neck and wiping away the excess blood from the corner of her mouth, she looked down to see who it was.

“Mu Tianlang? How is it you?” Mo Qingli had never expected in her wildest imagination that it would be him. No wonder she had been able to recover so quickly after such a heavy injury. The fast healing rate could be attributed to the fact that his blood was chock full of demonic energy. Still, it wasn’t as if his blood was the only option that would worked to heal. There was always Feng Chenling and Xiaoyao Yunyan’s blood.

“So you’ve finally recovered?” Mu Tianlang asked, his lips curling upwards. He forced himself to smile, his azure eyes glinting with light. He forced himself to stare at her, and yet… he was so tired. So tired.

He finally closed his eyes, falling asleep in Mo Qingli’s arms.

She gently placed Mu Tianlang on the mattress, pulling the sheets over his sleeping body. With one finger, she traced over the area where she had bit him.

Her lips parted slightly. “Thank you.”
