Volume 3 – When he bravely forged ahead on the sea waves
Chapter IV (Part 2) Clash begins
Revenge did not make these proud shark knights lose their reason. Several of them had already started untying their seaweed gloves, preparing to challenge that extremely arrogant Beamon sacrifice.
“How, you ask?” Liu Zhenhan shrugged and said in a satirizing manner: “A while ago, I said that you all can team up and fight with me but you just had to act all smug about your superiority or something. As warriors, you should learn to take advantage of an opportunity when it comes your way because victory is all that matters in the end. But look at you people, all p.i.s.sed about you friend’s death because you made the wrong choice? I already knew that you people couldn’t win but it seems your sea G.o.d has given you blind courage and no brains.”
“Shut up! Know your place, tiny beastman!” A strong looking magic shark knight jumped from the back of his tiger shark and said while pointing his fork-shaped spear at Liu Zhenhan: “I, Poseidon, formally challenge you! I will drain your blood and offer it to our mother sea!”
“Come on! I accept your challenge.” Liu Zhenhan made a provocative hand gesture: “If you people really want to throw your lives away by choosing to fight me one by one, why would I mind playing the role of an executioner? Haha, I would still prefer fighting all of you at once, should be entertaining for me. But I do not care anymore, bring it on, a gentleman like me always takes pride in giving the bullies what they rightfully deserve – instant death!”
“Poseidon!” The mermaid princess suddenly said in a wrathful manner: “Did you forget what I said in the beginning? Even these lowly beastkin deserve the benefits of a rightfully earned victory. Don’t you forget that victory or defeat conforms to the honor of a knight and honor of n.o.bility? Richard is dead, he was defeated in a fair battle and we all must acknowledge that as n.o.bles of the sea race, understood?”
The magic shark knights immediately bowed their heads and restrained themselves. The mermaid princess’ words reminded them of the honor of n.o.bility, returning them back to their calm state.
“O barbaric sacrifice! Tell me, why do you not use your magic pet to fight? You have violated the teachings of your incompetent G.o.d.” The mermaid princess asked in a calm voice but she was certainly angry on the inside, just like her knights.
“O Royal Princess!” Liu Zhenhan slightly bowed like a knight and replied in a very graceful manner, however, while picking his nose, “Please forgive me for being presumptuous but I must educate you about what War-G.o.d Campas has taught us: a sacrifice can certainly use their magic pet for peacekeeping purposes, for maintaining the rule of justice and to protect their homeland in wars, but not to deal with provocative thugs.”
This explanation was vicious and it certainly made the mermaid princess extremely furious. Her lips suddenly froze like rose petals in severe cold of autumn. She was trying to maintain her elegant demeanor but couldn’t conceal her trembling body. Her chest was fiercely moving up and down, making Liu Zhenhan’s heart move in a similar fashion.
He was lost in imagination, what if the two sh.e.l.ls slipped from her chest and fell down? Liu Zhenhan’s thievish eyes were focused on those two rounds objects, hiding the fantasy of every man ever.
(TL Note: At times like this, the MC reminds me of Araragi ;D)
“You are very lucky, arrogant beastman! Today, my chief knight, who is a formidable whale warrior, is not here.” The mermaid princess frowned while staring fiercely at Liu Zhenhan, then said: “We will meet again, I guarantee you in the name of the sea G.o.d.”
“It is really unfortunate, O beautiful princess of the sea.” Liu Zhenhan smiled and said: “My Yalong magic pet is actually quite busy today, so I didn’t bring him with me. If you are interested, let’s pick a time and place and see who is more powerful, your whale knight or my Yalong pet. We can make them battle for 300 rounds, should be fun for both of us!”
(TL Note: Yalong in English means Asian Dragon, a derived species of real dragons.)
The magic shark knights frowned and curled up their lips when they heard him boasting so openly (such a braggart). But they didn’t dare to not take him seriously this time! Who did not know that Beamon sacrifices were famous for making large-scale soul contracts with magic beasts of all sorts, including Yalongs and dragons as well? They also knew that the G.o.d of War’s temple would issue Medusa badges to high-ranked sacrifices. This badge was actually a bipolar hibernation s.p.a.ce, used for linking two points in s.p.a.ce. In other words, a sacred sacrifice could quickly summon their magic pet by relying on their soul knot.
To be honest, Yalongs did not appear too high in the food chain of sea kingdom. The real reason why they didn’t dare to overlook his threat was ‘Fruit’.
An insignificant little frost Picchu beast was able to display such a magnificent strength, let alone a Yalong magic beast.
“Beastman sacrifice, I hope the next time we meet, your luck doesn’t betray you.” The mermaid princess grinned and said.
Her smile was indeed attractive! What a pity, Liu Zhenhan’s vision was fixated on her magnificent tail right now.
“Your beauty has immortalized this meeting in my memories. I will look forward to our next meeting.” Liu Zhenhan said while putting on the feather robe. With his eyebrows raised, the calm and focused look in his eyes seemed quite intriguing to the mermaid princess.
“Sure.” said the mermaid princess with a sneer: “I would love it if that opportunity comes sooner.”
“You…..if you are not convinced, you can call some more people tomorrow. Then we all can party together.” Liu Zhenhan used an indirect method to find out her true intentions, to stimulate her to spill out her real schemes behind her mask of n.o.bility.
In case this mermaid chick was actually scheming to chase them down and catch them off guard, then what should he do? That magic shark knight Richard underestimated his enemy, was caught off guard and lost his life. In a serious battle between Liu Zhenhan and Richard, it was hard to predict the winner. Liu Zhenhan was trained for underwater operations but he was not sure whether he could take on shark knights underwater, without having prior knowledge of their fighting styles or tricks.
“I have said it already; if you manage to defeat my imperial knight Richard, both you and this fox girl are free to go.” The mermaid princess stared at Liu Zhenhan with a look of contempt on her face: “Our sea race is the n.o.blest race, we don’t break our promises. So rest a.s.sured, each of the words spoken by a mermaid is as precious as pearls.”
“f.u.c.king awesome!” Liu Zhenhan shouted in his heart. To be honest, he found all this c.r.a.p about the so-called n.o.ble clans, and the pride of sea race, very illogical and counterproductive. But, he found her pretentious side somewhat silly yet very cute.
The mermaid princess blew a light whistle and a dark and vigorous giant seahorse emerged from depths of the sea. It coldly glanced at Liu Zhenhan then bowed down before the mermaid princess, enough to allow her to slide onto the crystal saddle tied to its back. She gently waved her hand and a shark knight immediately picked up Richard’s corpse. The remaining shark knights quietly went underwater, leaving behind strong ripples on the water surface.
“Pig sacrifice, tell me your name.” The mermaid princess looked at Liu Zhenhan and asked in a serene voice. There was an unexpected tranquil look in her eyes.
“Li Cha.” Hailun replied instead of Liu Zhenhan.
“My name is Aiwei’er. Please do remember this n.o.ble name. Now I allow you two to continue your journey.” The mermaid princess said and smiled proudly: “Next time, I will certainly sacrifice your life to sea G.o.d Neptune and sea G.o.d Imphal.”
(TL Note: The English version of her name can be Ivy.)
Well, then next time we meet, I will f.u.c.k you b.i.t.c.h! Liu Zhenhan really lost his cool at this moment but didn’t say anything out loud. He certainly knew how to return the favor to those who threatened him.
The giant seahorse made a loud noise and sped forward on the sea waves.
While looking at how that seahorse was cutting through the waves and moving forward at an extremely fast speed, Liu Zhenhan felt as if he was looking at a military speedboat. In a blink of an eye, the seahorse’s giant body turned into a small black spot on the horizon and disappeared eventually.
“Hailun” Great officer Liu frowned and suddenly felt a bit of pity for that mermaid princess for some reason. Then he turned toward Hailun and asked: “What kind of reputation does sea race hold?
“Li Cha, there is a famous saying in Qin Mainland – the sea race has the privilege to lie and go back on their words.” Hailun sighed.
Liu Zhenhan couldn’t help but recall the image of that giant seahorse.
He looked down and saw the reflection of a giant white moon, elegantly dancing on the rippling water surface.
“I won!” Liu Zhenhan smiled then looked up as his big eyes saw the clearly discernible ring-shaped mountain range on the moon.
