Chapter 242: Reunion (2)
Prince Lin Yan, the man who came, glanced at them with indifferent gaze. However, there was a warm light in his eyes when he looked at his younger brothers despite his cold expression betrayed nothing.
Seeing him appear here, Prince Lin San was quick to react and ordered his men to stay far away and clean up the beast carca.s.s.
Lin Xiao waved his hand, telling him to take the beast's corpse because it would be too much for him. His group's strength was nowhere enough to defeat Beast Rank 5 and it was more plausible for Lin Xian's group to collect the ear.
"What makes you so adamant to call me to this forest?" Prince Lin Yan asked.
Prince Lin Xian was stunned. He scrunched his face. "Big Brother, didn't I tell you that we found our little brother?"
"I heard that."
"So…"
"How can you be so sure that he's your younger brother?"
"That's…" Prince Lin Xian scratched the back of his head then dismissed his men before making a barrier. He proceeded to tell everything that occurred back then including the names that Lin Yun mentioned even before asking them.
He had already expected that his big brother would be skeptical. After all, they all believed that their parents and younger brother had long died. However, decades later, they were shocked to find out that their family member was instead still alive.
Prince Lin Yan looked at Prince Lin San with meaningful gaze. "So, you're saying that the reason why you chose to follow him is because of the dragon power in his body much stronger than the other four?"
"Yes." Prince Lin San admitted.
Lin Xiao listened to their conversation in a distance. The others had already disappeared to give this four brothers time to have proper conversation without being disrupted. Looking at the way they were talking, it sounded as if they were all close to each other.
Of course, having followed the princes for so long, they knew better than to poke their heads in things that was not their business.
'His Dragon Power is not bad, but it's still weaker than Prince Lin Kai back then. It seems that amongst the four of you, you're still above them in terms of dragon power.'
'Isn't my Dragon Power high because of you?'
'…Of course not. You already naturally have high dragon power inside your body. If not for that, do you think you can qualify for the Emperor's Inheritance?'
Lin Xiao's face twisted when he heard that. Oh, how much he wanted to strangle this dragon right here, right now. Unfortunately, he couldn't even summon Lin Hu out and even if he did, Lin Hu would be a stage higher than him.
How could he defeat someone at Golden Core Stage, ah?
Lin Hu snorted. He glanced to the back. In truth, Lin Xiao was not the only who had high ancient power in this group. There was another one but that person might not know that high ancient power meant that there was a chance to qualify for Emperor's Inheritance.
Not that Emperor's Inheritance will appear so easily, though.
Lin Yan glanced towards Lin Xiao. His dark eyes seemed to be able to see beneath any layer of deception even though it was clear that he didn't have the eyes of truth that Prince Lin San had. However, his higher cultivation made he seemed to emanate pressure that was invisible to the eye.
"Interesting," Prince Lin Yan said slowly. He had obviously realized that Lin San and Lin Xiao did look like each other.
Lin Xiao furrowed his brows and cupped his hand. "Lin Xiao greets Prince Lin Yan."
Since it was unclear whether Prince Lin Yan wanted to help him out or not, Lin Xiao chose the safe greetings first. Besides, it was obvious that all princes have to be respected when they greeted each other. Lin Xiao didn't really feel that awkward calling the princes with their t.i.tles either.
Eh, but he didn't remember their number… hmm, that was a problem.
Oh well, who cares. He didn't care.
"Do you call your older brother with such formality, Lin Xiao?" Prince Lin Yan asked back, his tone was calm and placid. He glanced at the other two. "I can't promise you the same as my two dumb younger brothers. However, if you wish to take the throne, I'll help you out."
Dumb younger brothers…
Both Prince Lin San and Prince Lin Xian were speechless at the way their older brother termed them. They were not stupid in any way, okay?
Lin Xiao was silence for a moment and looked at Prince Lin Yan. "Are you not angry?"
"Yes?"
"Because I caused all of you to lose your parents."
"You?" Prince Lin Yan shook his head. "Even if you have high dragon power, you'll at most be one of the candidates. They're not chasing our parents simply because of you but included you in the reason to justify their action."
Lin Xiao was stunned. "What?"
"The court is a bit complicated and there are various powers fighting there. I can't explain everything, but our parents are the first prince of his generation back then. He didn't have much power but a lot of responsibility still fall in his hand simply because of that status." Prince Lin Yan paused for a moment. "Human's greed. Do I need to explain more?"
Lin Xiao shook his head. He came to understand now that it was not completely his fault. There were always people who wanted to bring their parents down and his appearance just quickened the process.
How ironic.
"In that case, I'll be in your care, First Brother." Lin Xiao cupped his hand.
Prince Lin Yan nodded. "I have heard your name and Prince Lin Fei is calling his followers to help him to eliminate you."
"Huh? So quickly?" Lin Xiao was stunned. To think that Prince Lin Fei would be calling his men so fast. He thought that he would still have some time.
