Chapter 236: Family?
With a wave of his hand, Prince Lin San silenced his men. They were still looking at him with perplexed expression, but the young man didn't explain anything.
Prince Lin Xian looked at his younger brother and asked softly. "San, are you serious?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
Why?
Prince Lin San couldn't explain it by himself. When he first met with Lin Xiao, he thought the latter was nothing more than a country b.u.mpkin who was eager to eat so many new foods. But upon knowing that his surname was Lin, he tried to check on him.
Only to find himself perplexed.
The aura around Lin Xiao's body was that of an Emperor. While the young man was only 17 years old, he had already had the aura that was comparable to their father… no, it might be even more.
Because of that, Prince Lin San knew that if someone else other than Lin Xiao took the throne, they have to kill Lin Xiao. As long as Lin Xiao was still alive, the young man will take the throne sooner or later.
"That's because he's the most suitable," Prince Lin San said solemnly.
Looking at his younger brother, Prince Lin Xian sighed then he bowed down too. He trusted his younger brother and previously, the reason why they have never agreed to follow any of the prince was because Prince Lin San said to wait. They also wanted to grow stronger first, so they always made up excuse whenever the four princes tried to rope them in.
Now…
"I, Lin Xian, pledge to never try to take the throne over Lin Xiao should he become the Emperor and shall help him to become the Emperor. Should I break this oath, may the Heaven kill me."
Hearing the two oath said at the same time made Lin Xiao's expression turned strange. "I thought you're Prince Lin Fei's followers."
"We never follow any of the four princes and only got close to them to gain some information regarding the fight for the throne," Prince Lin San explained with a smile. He looked at Lin Xiao with interest. "Now, Your Highness, could you tell me who your parents are?"
"… I don't know."
"Huh?"
"I was an orphan picked up by Yun's parents and since then I lived with them. It's only because of some fruitful incident that I come to know that I'm one of the princes and that… I need to take the throne."
Or I will die.
Thinking about that Emperor's Inheritance, Lin Xiao still wished that he could beat up whoever set it up. Why did it was said that those who got it have to become the Emperor, ah? He didn't want to create so many enemies in the first place.
However, eventually, Lin Xiao had already accepted it and worked hard.
"Orphan…" Prince Lin San was stunned speechless. His brain racked on the powerful princes who were lost during the time he was born as his expression turned strange. He looked at the headband that Lin Xiao used, which covered his eyebrows too, making it hard to guess just how Lin Xiao actually looked like.
"Brother, did I and His Highness look similar?"
"HUH?" Prince Lin Xian was absolutely speechless. He looked at Lin Xiao and then at his younger brother. At first glance, it was hard to tell because Lin Xiao's skin was quite tanned as the result of his training and spending his time in the forest. However, it was soon clear that they were indeed similar to each other.
In fact, quite similar just like a mirror.
"Yes… You…."
Lin Xiao blinked his eyes. Please don't tell me that this prince is my brother…
"You might be Lin San's twin brother…" Prince Lin Xian's voice was a bit strained when he spoke that. "When Lin San was three, you're currently away because some people heard about the dragon power that's abnormally stronger amongst the twins. Our parents took him away but they never return."
"Never return?" Lin Xiao asked with a frown.
Prince Lin Xian pursed his lips. "They're killed on their journey, so we always a.s.sume that Lin San's twins had died."
Lin Xiao was stunned. He looked at Lin Yun with disbelief but Lin Yun then looked at Lin Xiao. He sighed then asked, "Are their name Lin Meng and Huan Ru Ying?"
Prince Lin San's eyes trembled. He nodded excitedly just like a child. "Yes!"
"In that case, it's true." Lin Yun looked at his brother and cupped his hand. "Congratulations for finding your real family, Your Highness."
"What are you talking about. Even though I find them, you'll always be my younger brother!" Lin Xiao laughed and patted Lin Yun's shoulder. He was both happy and conflicted at the same time. Who would have thought that he would actually meet with his brothers like this?
"Yes, you can be our brothers too," Prince Lin San added with a grin.
Lin Yun felt overwhelmed but he cupped his hand. He would never have thought that his older brother, who was always so naughty and mischievous would actually have such an honorable background. "I'm honored."
"Heh, without you, we won't even meet with each other!"
"It's my older brother who always protect me."
"You're so humble."
The others were stunned when they saw the four of them started laughing like old friends. They were all utterly confused as to why they got so close so suddenly. Did they eat something wrong?
"I need to tell Second Young Prince." Prince Lin Xian was excited.
"Second Young Prince?"
Lin San nodded. "You see, our parents really love to make children and have four children in total. The first son is the Second Young Prince. His name is Lin Yan and he's already 28 years old. When we were young, he was the one who protected us as our older brother."
Lin Xiao nodded. Based on the information he got, he could guess that when they lost their parents, they were all still very young. The oldest was only around 14 years old and yet, he had to bear the burden of his two younger brother.
It was not easy.
