'Ariana I have a message for you!' Mirela shouted as her face paled. Ariana tried to take a step back, she knew her presence was not something Mirela could handle but the tiny fairy refused to shy away. "What is it?" Ariana asked as she took another step back. Mirela gulped and flew up to Ariana's shoulder. She landed with a a small 'Eek.' then grabbed locks of Ariana's hair to steady herself. Ariana could hear her tiny knees. .h.i.tting each other in fright but Mirela was determined.
'I can't let anyone hear us.' Mireal said in a strained voice. Ariana looked around, they were standing in the front quad of the school building. Though it was practically deserted, no one was giving them much attention. "Dorm room." Ariana whispered as she started to walk. 'This can not wait!' Mirela shouted. Loralei jumped in front of Ariana, stopping her in her tracks and started to flap her tiny fins. Ariana knew what she wanted to do but there were still some students walking around so she shook her head no. "Whisper." Ariana said in a hushed tone before she resumed walking.
Vasu appeared and floated beside Ariana. Davita appeared and curled herself around Ariana's shoulders. Rahul appeared and landed on Ariana's head, laying his tail perfectly by Ariana's left ear. While Loralei and Duko jumped into Ariana's arms. Each Luma, tried their best to give Mirela cover while trying to make Ariana seem normal.
'Two messages and a warning.' Mirela started. Ariana wanted to respond but she kept a poker face as she walked. 'The Elder wants to meet you personally in our village but the entry gate for humans does not open up for another 3 weeks.' Mirela whispered. Ariana counted the days in her head and suddenly felt her blood run cold. "I can't." She muttered under her breath. 'I'm sorry. It's not negotiable, if you don't come voluntarily he will send out guards to spirit you away.' Mirela whispered with a pitiful tone.
"I understand." Ariana whispered to Loralei but Mirela heard her perfectly. 'To win over Gautam Waldemar's trust you must stay vigilant.' Mirela said pretentiously. "Easier said then done." Ariana groaned. 'It is. Talk to the dark familiar your roommate has in her keep. She can help point you to the right direction but you must not let her master find out.' Mirela replied.
"Is that also the warning?" Ariana asked quietly as she noticed a few students about to walk by them. She brought Loralei and Duko higher up and snuggled her face affectionately as the small group of students walked by. "Show off." One said in a hushed tone. "You mean b*tch." Another said loudly. "Shhh! She might hear you and report it to the Student Council." Someone else hissed. "Whatever, the s.k.a.n.k can do whatever she wants I don't care." The first rude person said with a loud laugh.
"Wonder who she had to f*ck to get so many familiars!" Another shouted with a high pitched laugh. "I wonder if a human can pa.s.s a STI to a magical creature?!" Another person laughed as she asked her question. "Who knows?! I guess we will find out if a magical creature stops by Mrs. Dabney's office while blue b.a.l.l.s!" One final person shouted in hysteria before they walked off in a normal pace.
Mirela stopped trembling, she had witnessed cruelty before but not to someone so horrifying. Mirela shifted her body so she could properly look at Ariana's side face. She wondered what Ariana was thinking when she heard all those mean things. Mirela could not help but feel sorry for Ariana and slumped down onto Ariana's shoulder. 'Are you always treated this badly?' She asked with concern. It surprised Ariana and she waited until the group walked further away. "It's not always that bad." Ariana replied.
'Sometimes it's worse.' Loralei said as her eyes started to water. "But I have really good days too. Sometimes you need to focus on the good to get through some of the harder things. I know that there are some good friends on my side, so nothing anyone can say about me will be that bad." Ariana said as her body slowly trembled with sadness.
Mirela went silent, too silent. Ariana could feel that something was wrong. "Duko, do you sense any other presence close by?" Ariana asked. Her yellow puppy jumped out of her arms and sat on the cobblestone road. 'No one.' Duko replied. "Mirela." Ariana said as she released Loralei and slowly scooped up the fairy. Ariana held Mirela gingerly within her hands as if she could break at any given second.
The little fairy looked up and met Ariana's gaze, pity, sympathy and sorrow reflected in her eyes. "You're not afraid anymore?" She asked and Mirela just shook her head. 'Silly isn't it? You're just a person, a human, yet you hold so much power with in you and you let people say bad things about you.' Mirela said with a soft chuckle.
'To think we... I was afraid of someone who has done so much good for others and never asked for anything in return. You have never laid a hand on someone regardless of your own circ.u.mstances. What was there to fear? Your kindness? Your compa.s.sion for others? We've watched you for so long yet I still feared you until a moment ago.' Mirela said pitifully. She then stood up and bowed to Ariana. 'I am so sorry for treating you so poorly. Countless lives were given to help you live for the sake of your mother. Yet we treated you like a plague.' Mirela said as she straightened up her back.
