Nighttime.
The second level of the Ancient Dragon Manual was the Bronze Dragon realm. Upon reaching this stage, one's skin would become impenetrable to normal attacks. Feng Hui thought of the recent events, "I'll need to advance as fast as possible."
Amidst his thought, Feng Hui was greeted with the shocked gazes of numerous onlookers. Looking at the remaining survivors, he counted around twenty survivors. During Sun Yi's battle, the remaining monsters had fled the streets.
The survivors seemed to want to speak, but their faces showed hesitation and unease. Toward this mysterious man, their natural senses told them to not offend him; therefore, the group was reluctant to voice their thoughts.
To his side, Sun Yi asked, "Is everything fine?"
"I wonder." Feng Hui's cool eyes tailed the remaining survivors.
The red-haired man lifted his brow, but he did not inquire more. Xie Na shyly spoke, "Brother Hui?"
Feng Hui ignored the soft voice, and he stared into the souls of the twenty survivors. Under this boundless gaze, the survivors felt exposed and bare. All of them felt uncomfortable.
"You can stop acting now." A second later, Feng Hui stated with an indifferent att.i.tude.
Upon his cold voice, the survivors became alert once more. Staring at each other, there was visible alarm and fear. At the peak of the Flood Dragon realm, Feng Hui could exercise ten percent of his soul's power without repercussion. The entire time after his rebirth, he had been limiting himself to a mere fraction.
"Hmph." Feng Hui snorted, and his vision tunneled into the body of a middle-aged mother. Spotting the contaminated soul, he added, "You can die sooner."
From the crowd, the middle-aged mother had a scared look, and she looked frighteningly at her family. The slim auburn-haired woman was the mother of Xie Na; she had remained low-key the entire event.
Gradually, the survivors built a circle around the middle-aged mother, but the woman's family stood still. In a flash, the family had been isolated. With a single sentence from the mysterious man, all of them began treating the woman like an enemy. In a world filled with death, this was the influence of the mighty!
"Please… I don't want to be sent back. I'd rather die! Don't kill me; otherwise, this woman will die too!" The middle-aged mother cried, and she had a pitiful look.
Feng Hui remained expressionless, however. Toward this monster in human clothing, he did not feel a trace of pity.
Seeing the G.o.dlike man's emotionless eyes, the middle-aged mother panicked, and she hastily scanned her surroundings. At the same time, the cute red-bloused Xie Na mumbled, "Mom?"
Hearing this soft voice, the middle-aged mother had the expression of discovering a life-saving stick.
"Don't let this man harm Mom!" The middle-aged mother cried, and she tightly held the beautiful teenager's soft white hands. With tears in her eyes, she looked at the cute girl's naïve face.
"Don't cry, Mom!" Xie Na's heart was pained seeing her mother cry. To the mother's side, the middle-aged Xie Tian had a look of disbelief.
"Biyu?" Xie Tian trembled, and he choked out a hoa.r.s.e voice. This was his wife, but her eyes were so different: It was the face of a complete stranger.
"Yes! It's Biyu, your wife!" As if she was afraid of the man thinking otherwise, the middle-aged mother affirmed with haste. The auburn-haired woman's eyes darted all over the block in fear.
"Disgusting." Feng Hui muttered.
Detecting the G.o.dlike man's disdain, Xie Biyu, the middle-aged mother, freaked. Hiding behind this body's daughter, she peeked over the girl's thin shoulder in distress.
"Brother Hui, don't hurt Mom!" Finally, Xie Na let out a waterfall of tears. While crying, she continued weeping in sorrow. Hugging her mother's trembling body, she coaxed, "It'll be okay, Mom. Brother Hui wouldn't hurt us."
"Xiao Na, that's not…" Qian Xue stopped her voice after seeing the cute red-bloused girl's tears. Instead, she turned her attention to the G.o.d-like teenager, and she stated, "Is there another way?"
By this stage, the survivors had the knowledge of the monsters' mind control tactic. Seeing the immense change in the once fearful Tang Bai had broadened their horizons. Knowing this, the survivors became even more fearful. None of them were safe.
Feng Hui didn't respond; instead, he looked at the cute red-bloused girl. If this Xie Na did not remind him of his little sister so much, he would not have been so meddlesome.
"Please, Brother Hui!" Xie Na continued crying, and the noise-piercing sorrow hurt the eardrums of the survivors.
Listening to this heart-wrenching voice, Feng Hui remained cold.
Suddenly, the survivors witnessed a brilliant light flash through the G.o.dlike man's starry eyes. In their opinion, it was the most beautiful sight they had ever seen.
Feng Hui commanded, "Disappear."
With his indisputable command, Xie Na watched her mother in shock as the auburn-haired woman abruptly fell to her knees, and she shrieked, "Mom?!"
Meanwhile, Xie Tian, the cute red-bloused girl's father, felt his heart drop. Trying to calm his thundering heart, he rested his broad hand on his wife's delicate shoulders. "Biyu, everything will be fine."
Stepping toward the auburn-haired woman, Feng Hui's spectacular face oozed the air of a legendary ruler.
To the survivors, this white-uniformed man looked like a being who had descended from a higher plane.
Watching the auburn-haired woman puke out blobs of purple molten, Feng Hui smiled.
"You don't belong in this world." Feng Hui stated without a hint of emotion. He observed the lemure sluggishly take the form of a tall six-feet purple molten monster with scared eyes. Facing the androgynous creature, he lifted his palm, "Return."
Along with this word, the lemure let out a high-pitched scream. Feng Hui serenely watched the lemure turn into ash as the creature returned to the soil.
"To feel such fear, what is this other world like?" Feng Hui thought.
Xie Na watched her mother's pale face regain color, and she kept crying, "Mom… mom, you're okay."
The auburn-haired woman, Xie Biyu, had a painful headache. The entire time, she had felt like she was in a dream. Spectating her life move on while being unable to feel, the sensation was dreadful. Similar to sleep paralysis, she could not control her body.
Finally, when Xie Biyu had lost all hope, she saw a calm G.o.dlike man who stared right at her. Seemingly, this G.o.dlike man could see right through this false outer sh.e.l.l.
Feeling hope, Xie Biyu begged to be let out. Trying to signal with her crying eyes, she prayed that he would save her, and she was not disappointed. With a flash of the G.o.dlike man's eyes, she felt the restrictive feeling on her soul slowly disappear, and she eventually regained control of her body.
"I owe you everything…" Suddenly, Xie Biyu kowtowed three times to the G.o.dlike man, while her family watched in utter shock. This otherworldly man had singlehandedly pulled her out of h.e.l.l!
"There's no need." Feng Hui shook his head at the kowtowing, and he thought, 'It was my fault you were dragged into this mess anyway."
Even with Xie Na desperately trying to pull her frail mother up, the auburn-haired woman refused to stop kneeling. Seeing this, Feng Hui had a low smile, and he spoke, "Thank your lovely daughter. Xie Na… reminds me of someone."
Hearing this, Xie Na loudly sobbed, "Thank you so much, Brother Hui…"
Turning his back on the family, Feng Hui walked away under the stunned looks of the survivors.
Standing next to the red-haired Sun Yi, Feng Hui smiled, "One day, this will all end."
"Mn." Sun Yi nodded, and he trusted his friend. Somehow, he had the belief that this ethereal-like man had the answer to everything in this world. It was an unexplainable feeling. Throughout his entire life, he had been a skeptical man, and he was never so trusting of others.
Feng Hui looked at the night sky. In the cascade of black clouds, there were numerous portals of various colors. Luckily, the portals containing higher-leveled monsters were sealed. Eventually, these monsters would be released, however.
Feng Hui pondered the reason for this. Suddenly, while he was thinking, he sensed an attack on his soul. Feeling the connection, his face turned cold. Fortunately, a strand of his vital Qi was present in his little sister. By creating the body to body connection, he had instructed the strand of vital Qi to take the brunt of the damage.
In a human's body, there would be two or three strands of vital Qi at most. The vital Qi was the very life essence of an organism: the core of a being! Feng Hui was an exception, however. He had cultivated to the Golden Dragon soul level; therefore, he had ten strands in total. Reaching his level, he could instruct these vital strands with tasks if needed.
Taking the pain in his little sister's stead, Feng Hui's white forehead had a bead of sweat.
"Brother Hui?" Sun Yi saw the restlessness on his friend's face, and he thought, "This is the first time I've seen dread on his face."
In Starryfu, on a shopping district, Feng Hui conversed with the red-haired Sun Yi.
"I need to do something. Watch out for me." Feng Hui stated a request out of nowhere, but Sun Yi still nodded.
"Of course." Sun Yi lifted his brow, but he did not think too much about it. At the same time, the other survivors looked with wonder at the G.o.dlike Feng Hui.
Sitting cross-legged, Feng Hui closed his eyes, and he linked to a faraway strand of vital Qi.
