Tan Rou thought he feared being caught in his lies, so she said, “The plane will be landing at the airport soon, so if there’s anything you want to tell me, you’d better do it now. If I find out after landing that everything you’ve told me is a lie, I will hand you over to the police.”

“No!” Ajila shook his head vigorously, “I haven’t told a single lie, you will understand when you see my mom; my mother really is a princess. It’s just…” He trailed off, unwilling to say more.

Tan Rou pressed, “It’s just what?”

Ajila bit his lip and said softly, “I’ve made my mother angry, and I’ve been away for so long. She will be very sad when I return. I don’t want to see my mother cry.”

Tan Rou scoffed coldly, “If you don’t want to see your mother cry, then you shouldn’t have run off. How could she not worry about you after you’ve been gone for so long?”
